1. I''m going to say 2-2 as well, just nicking a last minute equalizer with Earnie
 2.

Come on, Sheded. It was hilarious because it''s true. Why is that not funny? He didn''t say Hucks was a bad player, I think he just confirmed his suspicions that as a player he is brilliant, but un-coachable.
OK   Mook ,  I`ll give strachan the benefit of the doubt  .......   he`s a big mouthed loser  who, because of slow eye/brain co-ordination , has always  seen Hucks in offside positions ... a condition prevalent among referees and linesmen , I realise its wicked to mock the afflicted  , after all .... he can`t help being a git ................  [:D] Explanation , Hucks is never offside  !    he`s ALWAYS onside ...... is it his fault  that its only a split second from boot meeting ball  , and him being several metres  in front of defence ?  slugs shouldn`t judge  hares  [sn]
Hucks never offside lmao thats a good one!
 3.
Hilarious post Saint, and in that Spirit here goes: Manager & Owner.............Me, for the reasons already given!. 4.
Almost everything that''s gone wrong over the last couple of seasons has, rightly, been blamed on Worthington - his poor signings, bizarre tactics, poor quality of football. He is ultimately responsible for everything that''s gone wrong on the pitch. So, if we''re going to blame him for that, we must also acknowledge when he gets things right, which is what you refuse to do when you say that Ashton improved "despite Worthy rather than because of...". Ashton came here a bright young talent that many weren''t prepared to risk in the Premiership. Worthington took that risk where others weren''t so bold - and it nearly kept us up - then sells him 12 months later for more than twice what we paid for him. He came here a young hopeful (signed by Worthy), and left a player who''d proven his ability at the highest level (having been played by Worthy). Surely that''s an improvement? Whilst he''s done a lot wrong, I think credit should be given where it''s due.
No fair enough credit where its due to Worthy, he gambled where others wouldn''t and Ashton turned out to be an excellent signing and a good investment. He certainly has improved and moved up a knotch or two in the last year, but I still don''t believe any of it was due to Worthy, more the fact that Ashton is a very hard working talented player that deserves at least most of the credit for getting where he is today and any other credit I would give to the coaching staff but that is just my opinion whether its correct is of course debatable.
 5.

How many will Leeds be up at H/T in a fortnights time ???????? i will go for  3-0 .
Oh, and how happy that would make you, wouldn''t it?  What a credit to the club you are, with your unwavering support, getting behind the club and players with the new season about to start.  If only there were more supporters like you, then all of our problems would be behind us and Carrow Road would be a much happier place.
Well they say the truth hurts but Imo though it is still too early to tell if there is any real improvement, but with no strengthening in the squad and a smaller squad we will technically be fielding a weaker squad from before. I don''t hold out much hope that anything has got any better and I have to be realistic about the coming games. I go for Leeds 1-0 at HT 12mins , we''ll come back to 1-1 at 50mins but end score will be 3-1 to Leeds, 58mins and 82mins. I really do hope though for the complete opposite but honestly what possible reason could I have to believe that.
 6.

Why would anyone want to join an broke, under performing, non football playing side.
you missed the fact that narrow minded fans cheer when the other team scores. cos thats gonna help a team.
Would we still have won that game if they didn''t? I''m not so sure...
 7.
I think you have a good point there. Would have been nice to have Howard in, but perhaps it was abit pricey considering his age & experience. I really do hope we sign a RM though, it would relieve so much pessure!
Agreed Howard wouldn''t have been the right signing, we have enough forwards as it stands, but we do desperatly need the squad to be strengthen a good right midfield and I''d love to see davenport back at the club. But we are running out of time and this Howard attempt has not exactly shown us good signs for the new season, we are going for the wrong kind of player and don''t seem to be addressing the real problems.
 8.

I''m still trying to work out how many players have improved under Worthington and I can''t think of one! Plenty have gone backwards.
...this would be why we signed Ashton for £3.5m and sold him for £7.25m, would it?  Not sure he improved that much under us, but people inside the game clearly think he did!!
He did well despite Worthy rather than because of in my opinion
So, hang on - if things are going wrong, it''s Worthy''s fault, but if players improve it wasn''t down to Worthington. You can''t have it both ways - you could just accept that, whilst he''s lucky to still be in the job, he still gets the occasional thing right. How can Ashton improve without Worthy''s help? He played in his team for 12 months! Surely any improvement during that time is a direct result of Worthington...
Ashton is a quality player and would have done well regardless of the manger/team etc. People don''t actually need other people to make improvement, for example at Uni there were a few units I did well in despite having poor lecturers, alot of my improvement and good grades were down to my hard work and I think its the same with Ashton. I personally think he would have been alot better under different management.
 9.
Nice to see you have brought the negativity and bitching back with you Wiz, and just as the Messageboard was starting to clean up.  Oh well.
Can we refrain from the bad language and name calling, its pathetic. Your the kind of person making this messageboard worse, wiz is actually providing structured debate and reason, you however are just being antagonistic and rude. Next time why don''t you try and bring something constructive to the board.
 10.
a notice at the training ground says: "No excuses".
If only that was true, all we seemed to get was nothing but excuses last season, "too many injuries", "The team needs time to gel", "We were unlucky", "too high expectations" and now apparently its our fault.
 11.
It wouldn''t of ''''vanished'''' ''''we need a manager''''. It has been used for something, but the problem is we have not been told what. It''ll come out sooner or later, speculating may cause more frustration and hanger. And would be nice to get a 1M payment from an Ashton would be nice. Maybe keep it for 1/2 new faces in Jan, or pay off some debt. It would be useful to say the least, after all by the sounds of it, we need all the money we can get at the moment.
Well it certainly hasn''t been spent on the team, which is what it should have been, this is our last season of parachute payments and we havn''t utilised them at all. So what happens this time next year when we''ve got even less money and still a medioca team getting even smaller? Our finances are pretty good compared to most teams in this league we can easily afford to take a bit of a risk.

 13. It is a disturbing moment when Derby can out bid us, an even sadder state of affairs is that nearly every team in the championship has out bid us and beat us in the transfer market. A combination of zero ambition by the board and being far too slow in the transfer market. Everyone worth having is gone and now we must fight over the scraps, but I doubt we will sign anyone worthwhile now if we sign anyone at all.I''m dissapointed in the board and in worthy (again) but is the right course of action to remove them, I don''t know maybe I think a reshuffle is definatly in order, blow some of the cobwebs out of the boardroom so to speak. But is it their fault? or is it worthys? We were promised new players and havnt even come close to signing anyone, yet again more spin by the club.So we start the new season with few good players, far too many medioca players and overall not enough players.
 14. Lets be honest these performances mean nothing, the only games where we should worry about our performance is the actually league games. These arn''t really fair tests to be sure if the team has improved or not, I remember us pre-season losing 2-1 to Peterborough, an absolute appaualing performance in which the only goal we could get was an Own goal, but we still went on to the play off finals in the actual league.
 15.
shame he didn''t do anything like that in a Norwich shirt. But then again he is in a mickey mouse league now
Actually he did, when he initially arrived with us he scored 6 goals in 6 games. Without those goals we would have never made it into the playoffs and never gone to cardiff. Overall in 1 and half seasons he scored 13 goals, which ok isn''t great but he brought something else to the side passion and fight. It dosn''t matter what league you play in that was still an excellent goal.
 16. To me that dosn''t make much sense, if the board have put restraints on Worthy then thats says they really don''t trust this man in charge and if they really didn''t trust him in charge then why has the board kept him? If anything I think its worthy whos being more restrained, he may realise that he has to make the correct desisions from now on or he could be sacked. Personally if we don''t sign anyone then we''re going to have a difficult season, injurys will happen and we won''t have sufficient cover to deal with it, but thats only a real worry if the current players actually play well which is something I have sever doubts about after last season. As for the youth they are far too inexperienced and will be made scapegoats if we don''t perform, I can hear the excuse now "Well we fielded a very young side....". Fair enough they do deserve a chance but a few injuries in the squad and we will have to start fielding them as first team players, which IMO they are not ready for.
 17.
The saddest thing about last season is that in becoming a morgue / panto, Carrow Road forgot how to enjoy the spectacle of a game.  It''s more than just the players, it''s the fans too.
To be fair last season was rather depressing, alot of the games lacked any passion, were poorly played and ultimately boring.
 18. Yes I''d still renew, I don''t renew my season ticket as a sign of support for the manager or any individual at the club, I do it because I love the club and want to support them whether they are doing bad or good.
 19.
I admit, I''m struggling to be positive about the right back position, but if we could get Justin Hoyte, that would be nice.
I still think fleming can handle the right back position, IMO he did a fine job there last season and MLJ is still very much untried and he deserves a chance to prove himself. But I think a couple of extra signings would make everyone feel slightly better, I''d prefer the RM to be filled first however. On a seperate note, I agree with you paul on the "Crisis? What Crisis?" a very stupid thing to say, firstly I seem to remember hearing that somewhere before....secondly this is only Livingston it''s not like we''ve just won our first 10 games!
 20. Lets hope this good form translates into the new season, Robinson has always looked distinctly average to me and if he''s finally stepped up a gear thats excellent news we desperatly need it in the midfield. But as ever I remain skeptical til I''ve seen them against a proper challege and more importantly an actual league game. Totally agree with you on the squad depth issue, even if our squad if fantastic come the new season any injuries will cause serious problems, let hope there''s new signings on the way we need them.
 21.

Mckenzie 15 goals a season? where did you get that idea from? he hasn''t even come close to that amount. Fair enough he scored plenty for Peterborough but unless he does it at this level with us it means nothing. On average of 10 seasons he''s been playing and 84 goals that about 8 goals a season max and 55 of those goals were at Peterborough. Let’s not forget he has to stay fit and injury free, fingers crossed. Fair point on Earnshaw though he''s been an excellent investment so far, now all we need is the team to play to his strengths and we should have a goal machine. Agreed with Huckerby, a solid goal scorer and the goals he creates they are just as important.
That''s a bit unfair to McKenzie UEA to average his goals like that.  If you look at the 03-04 season he was only here for half a year but scored 9 goals from 12 starts and 6 subs.  9 goals in 12(6) games is not bad going and if you add that to his stats for Peterborough for the same season he has 19 goals 31(6) games.  OK in the Prem he was not great but he scored a few once Ashton turned in the second half of the year.  I think he is capable of 15 goals in this league IF he is fit.
Saint, In no way did I want to attack Mckenzie, I think he''s and excellent player with plently of passion for the game, something the team lacks overall. blah was suggesting that Mckenzie is a 15 goals player, which IMO really hasn''t been proven yet and I thought it a bit early to be assuming such things about him. I don''t doubt however that he is capable of such things if not better hopefully if he stays injury free and fit we will have another excellent forward.
 22.
It''s too early to say. However, look at our attack. McKenzie - 15 goals a season on average Earnshaw - averaging a goal every 2 games for us.  That converts to 20+ a season. Huckerby - another 10 goals a season, not to mention the goals he makes. That''s 45 goals.  If we can hold onto the ball, defend tightly as a unit, keep it on the floor and tidy up distribution (I''ll say it for you, Hughes and Etuhu), bearing in mind that there will hopefully be a couple of decent players yet to come in, I don''t see why we can''t get to the play-offs.  And then there is the youth.  Ipswich played us off the park with their younger players last season.  But they ended 15th.  Maybe we have a better mix of age and inexperience ?  You might find a couple of them forcing their way into the first team, especially if we lose players to injury ?
Mckenzie 15 goals a season? where did you get that idea from? he hasn''t even come close to that amount. Agreed with Huckerby, a solid goal scorer and the goals he creates they are just as important. Overall There isn''t too many complaints with the front line or the back, our main problem is the midfield which is an absolute shambles. We don''t hold onto the ball well, we don''t keep it on the floor and the distribution is dire. All these suggestion you''ve made are very correct and I don''t doubt if we fixed them we could make automatic promotion, but the real problem is will these problems be fixed come the new season and with Hughes, Robinson and Etuhu I have sever concerns they will not.
 23.

Who was it that lifted the trophy when we got promoted...
Exactly, and what percentage of fans would answer your question correctly Pete?? The captain both on and off the pitch that year was Malky Mackay - he may not have worn the armband but he WAS captain. Adam Drury is the quietest guy in the team - the one time I heard him speak against cambridge (and I was close top the pitch with th ecambridge fans) he came across as just that: a quiet meek individual.
Totally agree, Drury may be a good footballer and I have nothing but respect for him but he''s not a leader, as Paul says he''s a quiet player that has no commanding presence. That last comment is right imo, even though I remember Drury lifting the Trophy my instant reaction is why? I will always think Malky as the true leader and captain that season, we never properly replaced him and suffered for it.
 24. This is the problem, we are nice little Norwich, hence why we will never be the force we should be. Its about time we started being ruthless, stopped being such a pushover. where''s the passion, the killer instinct, the want to fight and win? because evidently Nigel has none and niether will this club.
 25.
UEA Canary Unfortunately, in your message advocating the use of a spell/grammer(sic) checker, you yourself made 3 spelling/grammatical errors. I think you meant "criticism", "grammar" and "you''re".
I''m dyslexic so I think you''ll forgive me for the odd mistake, at least I make an effort to make my posts sound coherent and understandable. To be fair to me the errors you have pointed out are only minor mistakes that make no difference to the readability of my post, unlike the original post.
