  1. Whoever it is going to be I think they will cost more than £150,000 I been thinking for a few days; So far we have spent £900,000 on new football pitch. So far we have spent £750,000 on new players.
  2. Was there some rumour in News of the World (didn''t buy it) about us buying someone from Celtic, too long a name to remember ? I look at page 324 on Ceefax for list of newspaper rumours. Nick
  3. blacko Did you come to Nottingham for cricket in June ? Was parking advice okay ? Nick
  4. I am not saying whether he would be good or bad for Norwich, but DJ''s form at Forest when he came back from injury was excellent. If Forest had him fit all last season they would have been play off material, if not higher. Also Forest currently owe Nottingham City Council a large heap of money (for rebuilding Trent End a few years ago). They are getting very close to having to find a few million rapidly or they risk defaulting on loan agreements. Nick
  5. Yes Sky will go up to £41 for full package in September. In their letter to customers they quote this 50 minute programme as one of their additional features, so I don''t see much chance of it being on freeview. Nick
  6. Should I plan to go to Carrow Road a lot of times after Xmas then ? Will there be a lot of empty seats next season (I doubt it) ? As a member I am guaranteed a ticket to 3 home games next season. Come on ! Next season, win or lose, is going to be fun, fun, fun ! Norwich will play with spirit and pride all year. Nick
  7. Yes the funniest bit for me was when he was in the bar and said that with the tablets he was taking he had to keep off the booze, but one little drink wouldn''t hurt.........
  8. I know that most of you will probably have already seen it, but for those who haven''t; It features Norwich City manager winning league to get promotion, open top bus tour of Norwich, then he becomes England manager and so on. Not that we want to lose him, but Nigel you''re half way there ??? Nick It''s on Sky Movies again tonight I think.
  9. d-block barclayboy I live in Carlton, Nottingham. As it happens half mile down road from me is a new estate road on edge of playing field, road called ''Huckerby''s field''. Nick
  10. Even at the age of 41 I felt that I must have a shirt with Huckerby''s name and number on back. Good to wear it in Nottingham where he had a few weeks on loan to Forest. Must mention what happened recently in Tenerife, I thought one day I would wear my Norwich shirt for a walk along seafront at Los Cristianos, big mistake, every timeshare scratch card ticket operator spotted it and immediately was able to strike up a conversation. If anyone has been to Tenerife they will know what I mean, they have gone from blatant time share selling to ''hello mate, would you like a free drink etc, have a go on this scratchcard and see if you win a prize !'' Apart from that I am always proud to wear my shirts at work and around Nottingham. Nick
  11. Parking for Cricket in Nottingham If you come towards Nottingham on A52 at first large roundabout near outskirts, go straight on and you come to traffic lights, this is signed right to National Water Sports centre. Keep in middle lane to head towards Nottingham, left hand lane signed West Bridgford. Over a slight hump and road bears round to right. After about .5 mile look for shops on left (Bicycle, bathroom shop etc.) here turn right after pedestrian crossing and then left into road called Rutland Road, carry on along this road and after about .5 mile look for onstreet parking. You will probably see others parking along here for cricket. Cricket pitch on Radcliffe road, you will see it at end of Rutland Road and walk left to traffic lights. But if you look on Multimap type in Rutland Road, West Bridgford or Trent Boulevard Nick
  12. Anyone any ideas if the two games in Malaysia are on TV, eg. Malaysia Satellite TV station (only guessing) ? Unfortunately they may clash with some friendlies going on in Portugal.
  13. Yes I agree totally, I was sitting in Sunderland end with some friends from Sunderland and there were no bad comments about Norwich, after the game in a local pub everyone was saying hello and how much they like Norwich. Many still remember those Norwich European nights on TV. But yes it was a great testament to friendly football atmosphere with no hint of trouble only praise for Norwich and what we have achieved. Nick
  14. My first game was rather bizarre, it was just before Xmas (cannot remember year) around 95-96. My wife and mother wanted to go Xmas shopping in Norwich so I persuaded a friend to come to football. Norwich played Crystal Palace at home and we drew 1-1. But the most bizarre bit was going into the game red cards were being handed out. Didn''t know what these were for (obvious later the purpose of these). Then after the game a large crowd gathered behind the N&P stand and some fans even had a cardboard coffin held in the air. We didn''t join in as no idea what was happening, we walked the short distance to the Park & Ride (where Morrisons etc. is now) and waiting for the shoppers to arrive, heard nearly 30-45 minutes of chanting etc. Nick
  15. I have to agree with Old Yeller, Living in Nottingham I had to put up with a lot of stick after last September''s game at Forest (dodgy keeper etc.) needless to say that I have for a few months been able to reverse this. I look forward to Mondays, I wear my scarf everyday (its getting a bit warm) and look forward to hanging my scarf above my desk soon. Also I am getting yellow and green ribbon to go on my car. We have had enough nail biteing over the last few weeks, don''t worry about May 2005, its a long way off. The thing to do is be realistic, accept that survival is the key objective and build from there. We have waited ten years for this don''t worry just enjoy it.
  16. Perhaps Football 365 could write a review of their performances in the England team !!!!
  17. If you read the home page headlines you would have a shock Norwich City 1 Stoke City 1 Did Stoke score after the game was finished ? Nick
  18. I always liked Derby, but now I really like them. Hope they stay up after the favour they did us last night.
  19. Any news on Jim Brennan, I saw the tackle and him go off on Sunday and started to worry about Zema style knee injury.
  20. What a difference a few days make !! On Wednesday he was saying how rubbish Norwich and West Brom were. Saying that they were both not good enough to stay in Premier League. Sky described it as a thrilling game for neutrals to watch. Then yesterday half a page including a lot of praise for Norwich. Is he a West Ham supporter ? (I guess he must support one of the London teams from his comments in the past) He seems to have discovered the road to East Anglia after 6 months of the season, in fact 2 Norwich match reports in a week means he must like the place. My personal message for everyone who doubts that Norwich can stay in Premiership is; ''I don''t care, lets get May 2nd over with and then worry about August when we start playing Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea etc.'' Teams in Premiership do not worry about playing in Europe until they get in the top spots. So lets concentrate on promotion (as Champions) and then party all summer.
  21. I must praise both sets of fans for creating such a marvellous atmosphere and I think we show the rest of the country that local footballing rivalry can take place in good humour and with no need for trouble. What a day, it was my first derby game and I was a bit apprehensive beforehand but the Police had it all very well organised and it was enjoyable. Only shame is I don''t work in East Anglia, well just have to gloat about Nottingham Forest losing again I suppose :)
  22. Give me your email address and I will email Adobe file of instructions. Nick
  23. I looked at Anglia region schedule for Sunday and they have the normal Football programme at 12.30pm and then at 1.30pn Australian Grandprix until at least 4pm. So I don''t think there will be any highlights programme. www.itv.co.uk Nick
  24. Yes great turnout and voices from the Yellow Army. Great to see 4 or 5 coaches from Norfolk. Well done to the boys for a good battling performance with plenty of passing football. It was a tribute to Sammy Morgan as well as the rest of the management at Carrow Road.
