  1. Scored 4 for Minnesota in their 5-2 win over LA Galaxy at the weekend. Pleased he’s doing well in is number 22 shirt.
  2. I’ve been complaining about the “music” for ages but to no avail. As mentioned, the crowd are mixed ages leaning towards older and the noise that comes out of the amplifiers before the match is deafening. No chance to chat with fellow fans who we meet every game to discuss team selection etc unless prepared to shout and even then can’t hear each other. Just need some lively bouncy music to get people in the mood. I was told once that the players choose the music but can’t understand that as they presumably can’t hear it - but then maybe they can as it’s so loud!!
  3. Never comes out and falls on the ball . Would've saved second Leicester goal if he had and similar in other games. I sit right behind goal and so see this clearly. Scared??
  4. Why doesn’t Gunn come out and fall on the ball? He could have done that to prevent their second goal. Not the first time he’s been too lily livered to do this and stop opposition scoring.
  5. I remember watching the Wolves v Spartak floodlit match on a TV in the window of an electrical shop on Plumstead Road in the 1950s as no TV at home. When did we have lights at Carrow Road? Must have been candles in 1878!!
  6. It’s a faux pas to wear a club shirt at an England game!
  7. What fantastic memories from everyone on this thread. We can trace our lives through City scores and experiences. I a remember getting home to Pilling Park in time for the results on Sports Report and that iconic music. Must have been earlier kick offs as no floodlights until when ? Someone will know!
  8. Yes, I’m around 70/71 years. My dad had been supporter since The Nest but I went with friends from the Blyth School and not with him. Stood in The Barclay of course. Three pence to leave bike near Hardy Road fish shop. Roy Hollis, Reggie Foulks, Leslie Eyre, Don Pickford, Ron Ashman, Bill Lewis I remember but also cannot actually remember my first game for some reason.
  9. Scored a typical Pukki goal today v San Jose running on to a through ball. Also another goal disallowed because of a handball in the build up. Nice that he’s got number 22 shirt. Lots of travelling in that league.
  10. Gunn and Stacey both spoke well and good answers to Darren Eadie’s questions. Rowe good fun telling of his exploits when at Langley school. Some of the audience questions were a bit daft but when asked what they had done on their day off on Monday, Rowe said he was waiting at the hospital to get his lip stitched!
  11. Assume this is still happening? Seems to have disappeared from here.
  12. When I went to my seat in the River End my ear drums were battered by an incredibly loud noise. No discernible tune and impossible to hold a conversation. I know there needs to be pre match build up but surely there must be something better than that. Years ago we had Moving on Up by M People and later O Fortuna but we need something with a bounce or beat to get us in the mood. I was told the players choose the music but can’t see why, as wouldn’t think they hear it anyway - or maybe they do if it’s so loud it reaches the changing rooms.
  13. As previously mentioned this is an unfortunate clash, especially as England getting nearer to being in the Final. Our game is the only one that overlaps as the Premier games next Sunday start later in the afternoon. Will Sky put the kick off back?
  14. Has anyone mentioned that now the Millwall game has been moved to the Sunday, it clashes with Women’s World Cup final? England may not be there but still a shame. Maybe Sky were not aware?
  15. Can’t usually hear it much in River End but was near them at the Barnet friendly and it was very annoying. Those in the group somehow seem more concerned about how great they are and the drum that they don’t take much notice of what’s happening on the pitch. (Expect you’ll think I’m typical of River End fans!!)
  16. Enjoyed your report as always Ricardo especially as I couldn’t go today as had a hernia op yesterday . Shame you missed the winning goal though. OTBC!
  17. I liked Moving on Up by M People years ago but maybe that’s being too optimistic. More recently I liked O Fortuna from Carmina Burana which builds to a crescendo as teams come out. It’s about fate I think.
  18. Agree about Gunn. So frustrating and will get caught out sooner or later. All that close passing at the back is so unnecessary and gets nowhere. Also, why doesn’t anyone ever come for a throw in? Is there not a player designated to make himself available? I remember Grant Holt was nearly always there for a throw and good at making something of it.
  19. Member of FA Youth Cup winning team I recall and I was also surprised we let him go as had decent games in first team. Was also surprised when Forrest signed him as had been at Huddersfield some time.
  20. He’s played for Poland with Levandoski (can’t spell it) so must know something!
  21. I note a Daniel Hakans scored a hat trick for Finland. I know it was only San Marino (remember when they scored against England thanks to Stuart Pearce was it?). He is only 23 and plays in Norway. Worth a punt???
  22. Pukki reads the game better than any of the players we had. No striker scores every chance they get and he got so few anyway. I hope he rekindles his scoring wherever he goes. Amazing how quickly heroes become scapegoats!!
  23. Had never heard of The Hives but they were really entertaining. Great to see Carrow Road rocking with The Monkeys. Couldn’t believe the number of huge lorries, equipment and tour buses filling the car park. A massive operation to put on such a show.
  24. Terrible all round at Crawley that night. The traffic was horrendous with many fans not getting there until half time. The Kose injury was key too especially as he had just got back from previous injury. Cobwebs in the ladies toilets I also remember !!
