  1. All he will say after reading this forum is "ignore the noise".
  2. Too many pats on the back following a couple of successful transfer windows? Hardly the first or last sporting director to do good transfer business is he - Watford smashed it this season, and Palace have recruited really well from the Championship (and SPL). Not sure about the midas touch anymore, absolutely dreadful transfer window which has taken us backwards.
  3. Has the same issues as Leitner did when trying to play at this level, ridiculous signing.
  4. Not long after writing "Webber out" on another thread, I can't quite bring myself to vote "yes" because his replacement will be Neil Adams, and he thought it was good idea to sign and play Kyle Lafferty as a "wide target man", a role that pretty much only existed on Football Manager because Morecame played that way with Kevin Ellison in League Two. So I have a real fear that Neil Adams is going to use Football Manager to identify his signings. Neil Adams is the Webber successor, Neil f*cking Adams, how can we possibly be excited by that? Does anybody really think he's going to be a good Sporting Director? I don't even understand how he's a club legend, was bang average on the pitch, one good season in the second tier and four bang average seasons, no seasons which brought success. Seems to have become a club legend on the strength of being a decent radio show host, well so is Danny Murphy but doesn't mean he should get a serious job in football.
  5. I'm pretty sure when we offered him the job he'd have been told that he's largely got to work with what we've got and that any transfer spend would be negligible unless the Saudi's get desperate and pay silly money for Max Aarons. The remit was to come in and try and get more out of these players, and that's what he should be judged on. At the same time though we do need to accept that our squad is complete dogsh*t, the worst top flight side I can remember, and I'm sure if you asked our older posters.... of all time. That is following a record transfer spend. I feel like Marco Stiepermann would improve this squad, that's how much of a disaster our transfer business has been.
  6. He's played 8 minutes in like 7 months, he's an old man. That said, has to be more of a goal threat than Hugill.
  7. I said he was sh*t before we signed him, so I know that. Hugill and now Sargent, Webber doesn't have a clue - time for change.
  8. It will come, just think positive thoughts, Lakey said.
  9. We've scored 1 goal in the last 6 games mate, what are you on about? Its 3 goals in 7 games under Smith overall, it was 5 in 11 under Farke. What are you claiming has changed?
  10. 1). Actually I've been Webber Out a long time before I was Farke out. I can back that up. I was pointing out that Webbers recruitment had been poor a long time before I was suggesting we might need a change of manager. 2). Yes I was to an extent, does that mean I should double down on one particular stance and never never being open to changing my mind? But it was primary directed at the middle aged the man who had a two week long public meltdown / tantrum, it was top tier cringe and he was talking about not renewing season tickets. 3). Ten clubs have as many or more players out. We're in a pandemic, its all relative, every club gets a 25 man squad plus the ability to use unlimited numbers of under 21 players. You are imagining or inventing our injury crisis. Rashica looks tidy but isn't a god, he's got 1 assist and 0 goals this season, stop pretending he's a world beater who would be producing game winning moments in this team, Normann is probably the best we have for defensive midfielder, even if he's a bit wasted there, but he's got a long history of injuries and we knew this when we went into the season, we knowingly took this risk. Webber has admitted that taking a punt on injury prone players is part of his strategy, it worked with Tim Krul, but seems to typically fail... Byram, Drmic, etc, just came and then got crocked again. If you sign injury prone players you will get injuries, it isn't rocket science. Are we saying that Webber signs injury prone players to get his excuses lined up?
  11. If I wanted to criticise Smith for our poor performances then I would, but I don't and that's why I haven't??
  12. Cantwell has proven Farke correct regarding not being fit enough. Gilmour and Placheta perhaps the only players to improve a bit under Smith, but Gilmour still looks like a kid playing mens football and Placheta had a heart problem so may have got this chance under Farke.
  13. With what money? And I wasn't blaming Smith at all. And surely he's a head coach here, not a manager? Webber recruits. Usually poorly.
  14. We should have kept Farke, and the board should have had the balls to sack Webber. His atrocious recruitment was the problem all along, contrary to his claims that Farke was provided with the necessary tools this season. Even Mourinho would struggle to get much of a dead cat bounce out of this lot. Literally the only differential between Farke and Smith thus far is that Placheta seems to have benefited from proper chance, but he might have got that from Farke anyway if he didn't suffer from covid related heart problems. Farke has been a £1m fall guy to buy Webber a 'punt' at his signings coming good. Well they look just a poor under Smith, so sorry but... WEBBER OUT!
  15. What have we actually got to lose now? Complete lack of any sort of creativity in this side. Apparently Wilshere one of the best players in Arsenal training, and they've had Odegaard dictate the game for them. We've just got absolutely no creativity whatsoever in our midfield. Lets sign Wilshere.
  16. Rebuild with what money? Only got Aarons left to sell, and there's a black hole to fill after a relegation before you look at spending any on players. Make no mistake, we are heading rapidly towards a financial crisis which far exceeds the one we saw under McNally. We signed 11 players in the summer. This was the rebuild. The problem is that not everything that is built looks good.
  17. Stay on side placheta FFS McLean only one of our midfielders looking to drive forward, and fair play to him for trying to immitate a playmaker, problem is that he's not one really and going into a Premier League season without one is a huge f*ck up.
  18. I'm watching an illegal stream, no idea what country this stream is coming from but the commentator is English.
  19. Surely that's because Spurs have much more possession than us? Only need to tackle when your team doesn't have the ball.
  20. Normann scored 2 goals in 56 games in the Russian League.... he's halfway through his career and he's scored 10 goals in entirety... and now we're expecting 4 goals from him in the Premier League in a single season, where he's playing as a Defensive Midfielder? A goal tally only matched by N'Golo Kante in one season? Planet Earth calling.
  21. To an extent it is hindsight, obviously, although it is 0 in the league, scored a couple in other competitions. And the season before he scored twice against Real Madrid and once against Man Utd in European competition, for some context.
  22. I think he's one of the worst Norwich players I've ever seen, and I've never understood how some on here rated him. Shaun Carey is one that I can think of who was worse though. We allowed an actually technical talented and intelligent striker to join Barnsley for £300k.
  23. The environmental impact of this is atrocious, that's 27000 pieces of plastic heading to landfill for 1 fixture.
