1.
mmm the same as Swindon were wanting too much for McNamee? Lambert said that was his decision and that Swindon wanted too much as his contract was up at the end of the season.  Seaborne''s contract is up for renewal too.  I am sure that Lambert realises that it is pay the going rate for either player in January or run the risk of losing out on the pair of them for good? If Lambert is not going to pay the going rate for either of those two players then he best get making some offers for others then.  Offers which undoubtedly he will be declined the funds for by those in the NCFC Boardroom???
Did you really expect things to be any different while Delia owns the club Smudger? As I have said before as long as we don''t sell our better players we may well have enough about us to get out of this division but if we do get promoted and Delia still owns the club at the start of next season we will come straight back down because we don''t have the money to compete at that level. I''ve long since believed that while Delia Smith is the majority shareholder we will never reach the top end of the Championship again, it''s crucial that we find a wealthy owner if we want to get anywhere near the prem again imo.
 2. Spot on Beausant, we are looking more promising than for many a year but there are still issues with the team that need addressing. Dozy Otsemebor has cost us so many goals with his bad defending I find it hard to believe that he''s still at the club let alone in the first team but Lambert obviously had no option but to play him last night, felt a bit sorry for Forster but when you have to rely on a young keeper who is here to gain experience for the benefit of his club he is always more likely to make silly mistakes and cost you silly points simply because he is still learning. There were lots of positives to come from last nights match but as ever money will dictate whether or not we trouble the top two this season and in the absence of new ownership I think we all know there''s not going to be much of that floating around. With a couple of decent signings we would wipe the floor with most of the dross in this division but as things stand at the moment the play offs look more likely.
 3. Angry and gutted, never in a million years did we deserve to lose that game but for the only time in the game I felt we lost a bit of discipline in the last 10 and I had a horrible feeling we were gonna concede. Still I thought we looked streets ahead of them in terms of football ability but they did look more threatening than us when they attacked.
 4.
Not just the goalies fault, the defence should share a portion of the blame.
Agreed, dozy Otsemebor outmuscled on the back post for the first goal and turning his back on the keeper for the second goal. As soon as he comes back in we start conceding stupid goals again.
 5.
The huge, fundemental problem in all this can be summed up in two words....Smith & Jones, until that pair of prize tits have gone, nothing else will ever be sorted!
Harsh but one of the most factual statements ever to be posted on this or any other message board.
 6.

What happens in January when clubs want to buy are players?
Now that really does worry me.[:(]
Yep. That is certainly of more immediate and genuine concern at the moment.
Until we get new owners with more money things will never be any different, if we were taken over and the manager had funds avaliable for players in January I don''t think anyone would want to leave anyway. We would then be regarded as a club on the up rather than a club that is stuck in a rut simply because it''s owners can''t afford to run it anymore. We are doing well at the moment and things on the pitch are looking better than for some time but the crucial factor is whether or not we come under new ownership in the not too distant future imo.
 7. As big as Birmingham is I don''t think Brum City would get any more than 30k even if they were in the top half of the prem, their supporters seem to be a pathetic bunch to me. They don''t seem to travel away in particularly large numbers and there always seems to be plenty of empty seats at home games. If Sullivan did come in here and provided the finance to get us to the prem and extend the ground capacity to 35k I''m sure we''d fill it on a fairly regular basis. If you took the average price of a ticket at 20 pounds another 8 - 10k fans per game  would bring in another 3 - 4 million quid a year. There is huge potential here and hopefully Sullivan will be able to see it if he''s interested.
 8. Useful to have as a sub at this level but not good enough to start, he''s far to lightweight and gets knocked off the ball to easy imo. The same could be said of Lappin who along with Mcveigh has been one of our poorer performers in the last few games.
 9. Even though it''s not saying much I think the atmosphere has been as good the last couple of games as at any time since we were relegated from the prem, it could be a lot better and the songs could be a lot more varied but at least there seems to be a feelgood factor at games again. Having said that the  Rovers fans seemed to think that when we sung it was as loud as anything they have heard including the Cardiff fans at Ninian park so may be we are being over critical, I just wish that we would be constant in the noise we make rather than being noisy in sporadic outbursts.
 10.
For the first time for many seasons we seem to be approaching matches with well founded confidence. We have a shape and a formation that matches our playing staff. I think that it is no coincidence that our defence has improved under Culverhouses training, positioning looks better and players like Spillane and the Doc look at a different level from the past. Then we have Crook putting some excellent work into our midfiled players, we are passing the ball faster and more accurately than for many seasons. Players like Smith are thriving under their guidance. In overall charge is an astute man manager and tactician,Lambert, who seems able to bring the work of  Culverhouse and Crook to the match day table and have the team wanting to play and win. I now listen to pre and after match interviews with Lambert with interest and now he has settled in, the underlying humour of the man is coming through. There are still things going on at board level that will help change even further our club for the better. In the meantime I for one am very pleased with what has happened since McNally and Lambert have arrived.
I am now feeling more hopeful than since we got promoted, the crucial thing for me is finding a new owner with a bit more cash so we can not only get out of this league but push for the prem again. As things stand at the moment we have probably got enough about us to get out of this division but without new money we will struggle again in the Chumpionship.
 11.
I thought the rovers fans where out singing the barclay for a lot of the game to be honest. "4-1 and you still don''t sing." etc. I was impressed with their turnout. But yeah, atmosphere was bang on yesterday - I''m still buzzing !
I thought the Rovers fans were very quiet which was understandable, heard a couple of choruses of  Goodnight Irene and that was about it. From where I was in the lower Barclay behind the goal the Rovers fans didn''t sound very loud even when they did sing, Orient were much louder. I thought it was a bit quiet overall for most of the second half but at 4-1 the game was over and it is always difficult to generate much of an atmosphere in such circumstances.
 12.
Another fan on their forum said :  "The worst thing of the whole day is that they play music when they score. Why the hell do teams bother? They were probably the loudest fans I have heard for years so why they do this is beyond me."
I have to agree with him on that goal music, much rather hear the roar of the crowd than have to listen to that rubbish
 13.
Not been funny though the reason they thought we were noisy today was proberly the fact they have never seen a crowed 24,000+ before anything over 7000 for them will be noisy for them.
They have been to Leeds for the last couple of years and I''m sure they have played some of the other bigger clubs that have been in league 1 in recent years.
 14. Bristol Rovers may well be a decent team at this level but let us remember that this is the third division and with the possible exception of Leeds there''s no team in this division we should fear at home, if we play anything like we have done the last 2 home games we will win.
 15. I thought Orient looked very pacy in the first 10 minutes and it looked like we were going to be in for a long night but once we got to grips with them the gulf in class and ability between the two teams was clear to see, although you defended well it was a miracle that you reached half time level. I''d say 4-0 was about the right result considering the amount of play we had . Your fans were as loud as any we''ve had this season and I was impressed with the amount that turned up, I was only expecting a couple of hundred and I guess there must have been closer to a thousand of you which made for a decent atmosphere.
 16. Agreed, we didn''t really make any noise until the last few minutes and it was nice to hear a different chant even if it was inspired by their fans East London chant.
 17. meant to say the goals we scored were of the highest quality.
 18. I thought the sending off made it more difficult because they then stuck ten men behind the ball but the goals we scored were , apart from the first 10 minutes we were miles better than them and I could hardly believe that having battered them for 35 minutes we were not winning at half time
 19.

So........ Are we saying we should we now be using where this club was under Worthington as a benchmark instead of the 80''s and early 90''s? Is West brom now the model we should aspire to? What can we learn from them? Last season at this time it was Hull. Hull have now caught that nasty disease. They want the manager sacked. I saw a fan on TV last night saying Brown had done really well but they needed a new manager to take the club forwards.... Where do they think they''re going[:^)]
Stop jumping the gun (or is that Gunn) Before we use any club to aspire to we need figures and facts. You know the things that T doesn''t make up. I would like to see some analysis of West Broms accounts as to how they are managing to at least yo yo. Hull ...back to Rugby league perhaps! I for one will NEVER EVER EVER agree to bench mark our achievements by, what was his name, can''t think, it''s been that long since anyone mentioned him.Unless of course we are really going to have to settle for third best from now on. Then that period will look reasonable.(Now time for me to lay down in a dark room and sob)[li]
The last i heard West Brom had zero debt, but i must admit i haven`t got a clue how they have managed this with a pretty modern stadium.  They have also done very well from appreciating- unlike us- that top young talent doesn`t come cheap but that paying the going rate can reap huge rewards in terms of promotions, cup-runs, big gates and, when necessary, cashing in on selling players but injecting the proceeds straight back into the team to keep the club moving forward.
Your last sentence sums up in a nutshell why we are where we are, if we had invested a higher proportion of the proceeds from player sales into replacements there is no way on this earth we''d have been in League 1 even allowing for the hideous managers we''ve had. A large part of the blame for that has to go to the wicked cook, if she couldn''t afford to run it as a football club rather than a catering business she should have sold up years ago when she''d have found it easier to find a buyer.
 20. From what I''ve seen so far we seem to lack the flair and imagination to win enough games to be considered serious promotion contenders, can''t see us losing that many games but I don''t think we are good enough to turn enough of the tight games into 3 points instead of 1 and that will cost us a lot of points. With a couple or three decent loan signings that could change but at the moment I can''t see us finishing above tenth which considering we''re in the third level would be a big disappointment imo.
 21.
On the up side, at least MWJ knew who it was... From what I''ve seen of Smith and Jones during the matches, the one thing you couldn''t accuse them of is not caring or being part of The Suits who think of the club as a business rather than a football club.
The only thing that Delia Smith cares about is herself, if she cared that much about the club she''d have sold up 2 or 3 years ago when she may have found it easier to find a buyer and it was becoming obvious that she could no longer afford to run it. She may well wave her scarf and jump about like a demented teenager at games but that still doesn''t alter the fact that her and her husband have overseen a period of totally unacceptable decline at this club.
 22. So many great memories of Hucks, the goals against Cardiff and Wigan were two of the best goals I have ever seen from any Norwich player. Two moments of stunning individual brilliance of which there were many more during his time here. I admire him more than any other NCFC player I''ve ever known because of his unwavering loyalty to our club, good luck Hucks you are a true legend.
 23.
A work colleague of mine is a Brum fan & had to pay £45 to watch their game against Villa at the weekend in their equivalent of the N&P stand. Be careful what you wish for - if they were to come in they may bring finacial clout but a lot of regulars may not have the money to see the result of that on the pitch.
If it meant having a better team I''d rather pay a bit more, as in all walks of life you get what you pay for. If they provided the money to put a decent team together I don''t think we''d have to many problems selling tickets.
 24. In general I''d have to say that apart from a few games I haven''t enjoyed watching City for several years, I yearn for the day that I can start enjoying watching my football again. The events of the last few years have taken it''s toll on me and I only have feelings of apathy towards the club nowadays, we may have a new manager and some new board members but until the club is taken over by someone with money I don''t see things improving much.
 25.
Am I the only one who doesn''t want those dirty b*stards buying our club?
So if it came down to a choice of sticking with Grandma Smith and Grandpa Jones and going into administration or Gold and Sullivan coming in and taking over would you stick with Smith and Jones? I''m afraid in our current situation I don''t see how we can afford to be choosy tbh, some may consider Gold and Sullivan dodgy because of how they have made their money but they have done nothing illegal as far as I''m aware.
