  1. Surely, choosing a team to support is a thing from the heart no? Although plenty do, the teams you support shouldn’t be based on how good they are. If we all did that, there would only be support for 3-4 clubs in this country. Everybody else would have no support at all. Supporting teams in how good you deem them to be is the shallowest of reasons and is one of the reason football is so bland and crap these days. You should surely support your home town club, or club you have strong links to and your support your nation of birth. In what realm would anyone choose not to support their nation of birth or heritage for the reason of “they play bland football”? It’s the most non-commonsensical of reasons surely! You’re weird!
  2. I think you’re right, there’s a psychological barrier of some sort there that needs breaking down. He reminds me a bit of heskey. I always felt that as good as heskey was, we very rarely saw his true potential realised.
  3. Sums Ipswich fans up beautifully. Follow the little local team when they’re doing well, Arsenal when they’re not doing well. This season must be a bit of a dilemma really, but hopefully once the choking gets in full swing you lot can take up your comfy chairs at the emirates once again. Also, a little bit confused about how supporting Argentina demonstrates common sense?
  4. I genuinely think if Idah could release whatever it is that holds him back, we’d have one hell of a player on our hands. When he’s the strong, powerful Idah he looks and absolute beast. But you’re right, in a way, there are two Idahs. That’s for the coaching staff to figure out I suppose.
  5. Funny how quickly and easily they disappear. One more bad result and they’ll all be back supporting arsenal again!
  6. I feel like this game will be season defining for both even though there’ll still be a long way to go. Lose this and the crumbs of doubt could start boggling at Ipswich enough to become a problem. Win it and I can’t see even them choking it from that far ahead.
  7. Well, in the motherland of rules rules rules and people taking it upon themselves to feel offended on other people’s behalf behalves what should we expect. There, I’ve said it too, ban incoming !!
  8. Playing out from the back is great when you’re good at it. I don’t mind that we persist with it at all, it’s the only way we’ll get better at it. I do wish we’d mix things up sometimes with the odd quick throw and long kick just to lose a bit of predictability.
  9. They’d built last weeks fixture up into something so big, that in their heads they’d already thrashed us. Make no doubt about it, that result will have hurt them as much as any of the other results over the past decade and a half nearly. BUT they have got loads of money and they will walk to the premier league title next year remember!!!!
  10. They rarely beat us when it really matters the most and they are as bitter as hell about and LOVE IT
  11. It’s not about celebrating the draw though is it. It was about not losing our unbeaten streak against them during a period where they are flying and we are not. This draw will feel like a loss to them as they had all convinced themselves they were going to smash us (as I had). This was their best opportunity in a long time to put one over us and they’ve blown it - again- how awful!
  12. My boy is sitting his GCSE’s this year. He was ONE when they last scraped a win against us.
  13. Be honest that feels like a defeat for you lot hahahahahhah
  14. Hope he plays. I like him, he’s a tidy player that would really benefit our midfield. Happy Birthday Liam. Become a hero and enjoy winding your dad up later!
  15. Kudos to all those going today. You have the balls of a lion. I’m sure you’ll all harness your inner Portsmouth fans and give 100+ minutes of unwavering support. I hope it’s an enjoyable one for your sakes! I shall be choosing the cowards option I’m afraid and taking the dog for a nice long walk before checking in on it well after it’s over once I feel ready to ruin my weekend.
  16. Exactly how I feel. Defeat is defeat, this is all about the manner of defeat. Put up a fight and narrowly lose and I’ll be ok, but lose our heads and capitulate a la Plymouth and the Huddersfield game will be pure poison if he’s still here. our only hope is that Wagner genuinely isn’t looking for a pay off, wants to keep his job and the players want to keep him in a job and he and they pull a rabbit out of the hat.
  17. 5-1 Ipswich I’m afraid. It’s the kind of result football throws up so we’ll no longer be able to use that score line against them. It’s a cert!
  18. It’s a beautiful thought but I’m afraid that’s all it is. This season is a write off I’m afraid. The best we can hope for is for Ipswich to somehow blow it and that doesn’t look likely at all.
  19. I haven’t got the balls for it, I can’t see anything other than an embarrassing heavy defeat. Everything off til Sunday afternoon for me
  20. This will be my strategy also. Check late enough in the day so it doesn’t ruin your Sunday!
