I think people mistake Bassong''s attitude. He seems to me just blasé and laid back. People mistake that for arrogance.

Can I say, great OP and great opinion pieces from folks. So thanks for that. This is why I signed up to the Pink Un in the first place! Makes for interesting debate -

My question is the development of younger players, insomuch as I feel, at times, we stagnant growth. This is my personal opinion from watching games on tv and live. My examples would be Redmond and, most obviously, Brady. Redmond moved on, and now under a different set up seems to be thriving. Brady, bright start in that ''15 campaign but fell off and doesn''t seem to have recaptured that bright spark we saw back then and at the Euros. If what you say is correct Parma, and it''s a very balanced piece, the youth we have "upcoming" are forging a path to first team action with the idea of them as investment pieces should they succeed in attracting Prem attention? However it is at this development stage with us where I''m still unconvinced. Unless of course we''re selling on a 65% completed package for example and act as a downsized S''Hampton? -

It do make me laugh when people moan that their team is top of the league. And how they could probably describe another team playing badly, but still winning as "a sign of a good side".Literally it has become fashionable to hate the team you allegedly support.
It goes with the era of ''post truth'', we are now in the era of ''post support''.
Its literally like a huge percentage of our fanbase started supporting during the Lambert years. If you have supported for a bit longer than that then you truly know $hit times to be a Norwich City fan.
The Peter Mendham ''soccer school'' that I used to attend at Dereham Wanderers for example

Sorry Paul, can you repeat that please? ;) -
Morty''s points above echo the sentiment that Neil has stated in the press that he''s relying on experience not youth to get us out of the rut we''re in. Judging by the performance at Derby (wasn''t there but from what I''ve read) and the score line that ethos could have paid dividends. I do agree our transfer windows have been a sham and questions hang on the expensive Naismith and the game time of Pritchard BUT shoving on under-prepared or out of form youth because they''re young makes no sense. Manager is working with what he''s got given injury, form and team formation and what works best with that. If Neil was that stubborn we wouldn''t have seen a 2nd half appearance of Lafferty on Sat would we?

What would be the point of promotion?
Coq au vin replied to unique's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
If we get promoted the youth will barely get a look in. And if seeking to stay in the Prem we''d be entirely reliant on buying players who''d have been there done that. And those guys cost money, money which as we all know is not something NCFC have abundance of. I would love to get back to the Prem, but there''/ more questions than answers about how we''d realistically stay there. We need the right players to stay there but we need the money to get the players. New owners then? That comes with its own pitfalls which have been discussed a million times on here already. I don''t want to stay in the Champ but if it comes down to development of young talent for a season, and axing some of the hangers on then I''d be all for honing our emerging crop and adding to that talent base. However, this again comes back to the question of our scouting system which we''re all well aware has failed nigh on three seasons in a row. Staying in the Champ for a season and not being able to sign under the radar talent with burgeoning take-over clubs like Wolves, Bristol etc being able to steal them away with bigger budget pools is worrying. -
Jez Moxey and his itchy trigger finger...
Coq au vin replied to Feel The Force's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Just to be clear Jim, I kept my fingers clean of the whole business. Had nothing to do with me as I find it difficult to look people in the eye on a day to day basis let alone Fire them. Jez is coming to the Capital Canaries Xmas dinner so I''ll ask him to sack Neil then and see what happens. -

Bored of the "what new manager should we pick". I urge you to pick a comedy manager; can be anyone or anything and no wise cracks about it being more of a joke right now... I''d go for Santa Claus, not worried about the past, nor the future but he always delivers in the present... 😉

Pete''s adopted the William Burroughs ''cut up'' approach to sentence structure. I get you buddy, it''s a brazen move on a football forum
