  1. Pete, profoundly realistic post from you, did you spend too much time in the sun today? Maybe one pint too many?? But yes, given all the latest edp tidbits it becomes more apparent we need to rustle up cash from somewhere. Naismith moved on now at a significant loss is better than a Naismith fulfilling his contractual obligations over the next few seasons costing more in the long run. And, as you quite correctly added, his release allows for youth development in his 10 role. This I would be more keen to see.
  2. Lakey, you do dig yourself into a hole sometimes but you stand by your principles and I''ve got to commend you for that. Plus you have a funky hat. Which I hope you wear all the time?!!
  3. @ICS He fed burgers to swans to make them float better
  4. No one''s mentioned Lakey - so Lakey for me
  5. So by my understanding that makes Zimz, Martin, Klose and, in all probability, Bielik. In all likelihood we''ll lose Klose, so I expect one more CB in. Hopefully a ''marquee signing'', someone with exp. as I''d have reservations going into the season with two fairly inexperienced CB''s and just Russ.
  6. @Wolf yep, spot on with everything you say there. I would say the quality comes from who stays because, let''s face it, we''re not short of attacking quality. It''s the defence we''ve had a problem with in recent years. I would say this season is a see what happens jobby.
  7. Didn''t know they were Watford fans...
  8. But isn''t that the model we''re setting ourselves up to be, a hotbed for youth talent to springboard to bigger things?
  9. Yeah that makes it about right TIL. Though I''m not sure McGovern is that great as 2nd choice is all I thought
  10. If he goes that leaves us with McGovern, Jones and Matthews. Anyone else think we''ll get someone else in and loan out Matthews for more experience?
  11. Just wondered if anyone had any idea on release dates for the new kit(s)? The Norfolk Show is the 28/29th of June and usually it coincides with this. As usual I''m quite excited by it - will it be a monstrosity or something low key and stylish?! Will we have a third kit this season since we''re looking at cutting budgets around the club and I figured we''ve been rather frivolous the last few seasons with a kinda pointless tertiary shirt. So any snippets of info from any sources would be great, mainly just to whet my whistle in this football quiet time.
  12. "or do what many other habitual PL strugglers do, and slowly sink." Like us??
  13. The Hog is right. We should be a PL regular. I know a lot of teams say that, but we were there when it started. And I love th efact we''re the only club for miles and miles - if you support Norwich it''s because you didn''t have a choice. I love that. I love the fact that when we''re in the Prem and we do a number on a big club, like Man City and Utd. It''s exciting. It also makes me more proud of saying to someone "yeah I support Norwich" especially when I live in London . When you meet another Norwich fan it''s like being part of a secret cult. I know that sounds funny but it brings us together when you play in the Prem. This also sounds a bit snobby but the idea of playing the PNE and Scunthorpes of the world do not fill me with as much joy as say the Utd''s or even the S''Hamptons. It''s a testament to reach the Prem as a minnow and give it a good go. But like Bones says above, so long as we don''t roll over with football unbearably to watch. The media, the money etc can all fk off, I just try and stick to the game itself and attempting to get as much as I can from it.
  14. Not forgetting a ''guaranteed place'' by those who are usually employed by the top 6 clubs, which was quite rightly pointed out by this threads poster.
  15. I completely agree with you. I''m not being ''bah humbug'' about it but I just struggle to get interested in the national side though I''m well pleased for Jacob getting a shot in the U21''s. Maybe my malaise stems from all the negativity in the press which makes me switch off from it all. I''d rather be ''neutral'' and cheer the underdog which you could argue England are these days.
  16. Apples, you don''t post a lot but when you do it''s usually a classic.
  17. In all fairness to the Alex Neil School of Transfer Excellence, he did adopt a fair few stinkers bought in Neil Adams'' and the Hughton tenure. He also seem to have no nous or contacts in the transfer market - this could have also been down to the poor recruiters in Darnborough and that other guy. A perfect sh!T storm if you will, the fault of which can also be laid at McNally''s doorstep.
  18. I lost interest in our national side after Euro ''96. I take part in it purely as a formality these days, and much like the general election, completely awash with apathy.
  19. Personally, I don''t think we''d be daft enough to sell to a rival. And it''s The Mirror
