1. I agree. Stefanovic was dreadful today. How he won MOM is beyond me
2. Lita''s third was clearly an own goal.  No way was it going in until the defender touched it. Sorry Leroy
3. Still don''t think we will go down but we''ll get nowhere near the playoffs either. I hate to say this but I agree with we8wba.  I can''t see where the improvement will come from next year.  Lots of loans is not a long term answer.  We should be recruiting good young players from the lower leagues and building for the future
4. I thought that Craig Fleming made a good point on Radio Norfolk on saturday.  He was talking about the promotion winning side and how made "leaders" they had on the pitch.  Even players like Mulryne, Mckenzie and Svensson were loud characters who helped to inspire the team. You look around our team now and apart from Russell and Clinghan I don''t see too many players with leadership qualities.  I don''t doubt the ability of the players we have brought in.  I also don''t believe this argument that the loan players don''t care enough about winning- these are professional footballers we are talking about, i''m pretty sure they would want to win every game regardless of who they are playing for.  I just wonder whether, having lost Dion andHucks, whether we have enough big personalities in the squad to drive it forward when things are not going well. I actually think there may be some truth in this idea of a "Roeder effect".  It seems from the outside that he struggles to deal with players who have big personalities and fills his teams with players who will toe the line.  I just wonder if this means that his teams lack the dynamic that turns a group of talented individuals into a successful unit.  Yes the side looks decent on paper but any fool can fill a team with talented players.  The skill is getting the balance right and matching talent, personalities and playing styles together.  I am still not 100% convinced that Roeder is capable of doing this.
5. I''m with Jas on this one Neither of them had done enough here to warrant a place in the side. Maybe a season of struggling at the bottom of the league might be the making of them. At the the very least it should prepare them for life in league 1 with us
6. After a successful start last week, lets hope i can keep it going WALES to beat Liechtenstein
7. I can''t understand why Roeder has this obsession with only playing one winger. To me it''s a defensive tactic. I would rather City started with two out and out widemen and had a real go at the opposition. I don''t see how the current system is benefitting anybody. Too often we get pushed back inside our half and our strikers get hopelessly isolated. I would like to see a midfield of  Croft/Bell    Clingan   Russell    Hoolahan.  Give the other team something to think about
8. First time i''ve had a go at this. Lets hope i''m lucky Rotherham to beat Grimsby at home
9. Season ticket holder in the Jarrold stand, but have been working in Australia for a year so only saw 4 games last season
10. I must say that i''ve been really impressed with the way Roeder has gone about his business this summer.  I think that considering his meagre budget has made some really astute signings-My moneys on Stefanovic for player of the year! However, i can''t see us pulling up any trees this season. I believe we''re destined to finish in a comfortable mid-table position.  I live in  hope that we will pull a couple of big name strikers out of the bag which might see us push towards the play-offs.  And you never know with this division-big money doesn''t guarantee you promotion- With good team spirit and a bit of luck, we might just surprise a few people-including me
11.

so are u all Huckerby fans.. or just Norwich fans? Why not get West ham shirts with Greenos name on the back? I cant remember anyone getting a Gillingham shirt when Iwan Left... jas :)
you will find that like yourself no one is happy at the fact Hucks was S**t on by norwich and cast out.  just because people want a SJE shirt with hucks on the back doesnt mean they aint City fans etc. please dont turn a friendly discussion about purchasing SJE shirts from the USA into a hate squad debate.  thankyou.
I have no intention of doing that.. just curious as to why no one has done it for a player previously.. Particulalry Malky who got the EXACT same treatment as hucks.. and never got the chance to say good bye... which some forget. jas :)
Remember Hux is going to a foreign team so it has a certain novelty value plus it''s ok to support a side from another country. I''m sure that if Barcelona had snapped up Malky when we released him then the exact same thing would have happened!
12. Do we have a sell-on percentage for Greeno too? Because he doesn''t seem like a happy bunny at the moment although I guess he''s just trying to weedle some more money out of West Ham.
13.   Completely agree. All this PC business seems to have done is stir up a massive hornets nest that is threatening to engulf this football club.  Being in Australia it''s hard to follow all the ins and outs of this story, but it does make for compelling reading.  However it saddens me to see this club on the verge of ripping itself apart and descending in to some kind of civil war. I sincerely hope i''m wrong, but I get the impression that this football club has lost all sense of direction.  All we seem to get is spin and counter spin when all anyone really wants (whoevers side you are on) is some semblence of truth and honesty. There does not seem to be any direct leadership or a plan to move the club forward.  It appears that Roeder is fighting a losing battle against a tide of negativity.  I fear that we will start this season with what we already have plus a couple of experienced frees and a host of young loanees-essentially a short term patch-up that does nothing for the club in the long run.  We must have some kind of closure on this Cullum issue so the club can move on.  If we have no funds then so what:-deal with it, scrape together what we can and try to pick up some lower league bargains who we might be able to sell on for a profit in the future (eg Kightly at Wolves or Walters at Ipswich). At least build some kind of stable permanent team which could improve over time or make us money.  If you are going to play kids then at least play ours and not borrow them from somebody else-who knows one or two might come good.  This may not represent the ideal long term plan, but at least it is a plan of sorts.  Ever since we came down from the Premiership, Norwich City has been like a rudderless ship. I couldn''t really give a monkeys who is charge as long as this changes. Maybe all the parties involved in this whole sorry saga should read Darren Huckerby''s interview today. They just might learn something about truth and integrity. Rant Over :)
14. I think we would all agree that this football club needs as much cash as it can get its little hands on
15. I can''t say it does much for me. I''ve never liked black football strips because they are an example of football clubs trying to be trendy. Football strips will never be fashionable-face it! Plus it doesn''t look like much effort went in to the styling- a bit of yellow trimwould have done wonders.
16.
I lived in Perth, W.A. as a kid, much as I love NCFC and British music, the chance to get back there would be just too good to miss. The Aussies know how to run a country, sadly we seem to have forgotten.
They sure do. They even let you drink beer while you watch the football. Light beer admittedly, but its the thought that counts.
17. I''ve not emigrated, but I have spent the last 10 months living in Perth, Western Australia and I have to say that one of the few things i truely miss about home is saturday afternoons watching City struggle towards another win!  You can never fully replace the passion you feel for your home town club i suppose. However, you do learn to cope (admittedly the sun, beer and beaches over here help to ease the pain). I reckon its a bit like giving up smoking- a bit of willpower and the knowledge that city aren''t doing so well kind of gets you through. That said I''d have been gutted to miss a promotion season and if we had reached the play-off final I would seriously have considered shelling out £1000 to fly home to watch it It would be easier if we were in the Premiership because you get wall to wall coverage of that. Being in the champ its easier to find a modest aussie than norwich highlights, so i rely on Canaries world. Plus i''ve got in to Aussie Rules (fantastic game) which helps to fill the gap. So i''d miss it for sure, but nah it wouldn''t stop me emigrating. Even though i still haven''t reached the point of not renewing my season ticket![*-)]
18.

I teach english as a second language to foreign students. Currently in Perth, Western Australia The worrying thing is that this message board is my main source of Norwich info. I don''t know if that is a good thing or not!
The worrying thing is that Aussies have to be taught English! G''day Jimbo, I''ll chuck another Binner on the barbie for you!
Cheers.  I thought the Norfolk accent was hard to understand till i came here!
Superb place to live mate, I used to live in Perth as a young kid, at 390 Belmont Avenue Kewdale, are you anywhere near there? I used to go and support East Perth Aussie Rules, can''t find out much on them on the net, are they still in Business?
I''m in Stirling so north of the city.  Totally agree though-fantastic place, if only for the weather. East Perth are still going strong in the local WAFL league. Have just checked the table and they are not doing so well at the moment though. Main side is West Coast Eagles in the national comp, but they are as bad as Norwich. I''m beginning to think i''m a bit of a jinx!
20.
Another person on Vital Footy claiming to be family says he''s on holiday with his girlfriend and in laws to be in Florida and is back on the 28th June. Don''t you just love these different stories and simular threads [:)]
Totally agree. I get hours of entertainment reading through these threads although what that says about me i''m not sure

22. For what its worth, here are my ratings Marshall - 9 - Excellent display. Will be a major asset this season IF he gets a decent defence in front of him Otsemobor- 7 - Looked solid and bombed forward effectively on occasions Shackell- 8 - Got better and better as the game went on Doc - 4 - Shocking display for me. Consistently caught ball watching and waiting for somebody else to react Drury - 6 - Not one of his better nights, but didn''t do too much wrong Russell - 7 - Showed a lot of desire and tried to give the team a high tempo Fozzy- 6.5 - Gave his all, but nothing he tried seemed to come off. Could be the next McVeigh? Hughes- 4 - Same old story. Tried hard, but he just doesn''t possess enough skill, touch or vision. Very limited Chadwick- 6 - Started brightly, but faded. Enough to suggest he will be a good asset though Cureton- 5 - Felt a bit sorry for him. Barely touched the ball Strihavka - 4 - Way out of his depth. It is going to take him a while to adjust to the English game. He simply got bullied out of the match SUBS Brown- 8 - Excellent display and nice goal. He could be a key player this season IMO Croft- 7 - Looked full of energy, but the questions over his end product remain Martin- 6 - I don''t remember him doing much, good or bad Big D - 6 - Not really on long enough to judge. Made a nuisance of himself. OVERALL The problems at the back remain unsolved, but at least we showed a bit of passion in the 2nd half. Most of the new guys look like decent signings to me. Even Strihavka was no worse than Thorne ever was Don''t lose all hope yet!
23. Come on. Lets not go overboard after 1 defeat to a pretty decent side. It wasn''t all bad PLUS POINTS:-Marshall looked superb (worrying that he needed to be), Shackell grew in stature and confidence during the game, Semmi is a million times better than anyone who played at right back last year, Russell pushed Marshall close for MOM, There were also lots of encouraging signs from Chadwick, Croft and Brown. MINUS POINTS:- The Doc was shocking tonight-consistently caught watching the ball and not reacting to runners, Drury looked a yard off the pace, Hughes should be nowhere near to the first team-his touch and passing were dire, Cureton and Strihavka did not gel at all as a partnership, infact Strihavka looked way out of his depth So good and bad points. I see no reason to panoc as long as Grant realises what worked and what didn''t. I am sure he will (won''t he)
