1.

The whole thing has put the fans in a lousy position and will cause even more divisions.  People will now feel guilty if they don''t give the money back (when they have already shelled out for a season ticket and are perfectly entitled to a rebate).  Likewise, those who are giving the money back feel like they are being questioned because they are seen to be backing the board. Its a complete PR disaster and one that could have been avoided.  I think lots of people would have renewed in any case even if the rebate clause had never been mentioned.  Part of me thinks more and more that the board never genuinely contemplated relegation and really didn''t plan ahead.
I definitely won''t be feeling guilty when i claim mine back, i will not be paying 360 odd quid or whatever it is to watch 3rd division football, i''ve said before if the board went out and appointed someone like Mark Robins as our manager then i would of considered giving them the money, shame they didn''t show us a tiny bit of ambition then i think a lot of people would of considered it like me!
I''ll rephrase that.  People are being MADE to feel guilty.  If Foulger puts money in, then fair enough - I''m not knocking him for that.  I''m more annoyed with the EEN''s plea to the fans which looks as if it was written and sent directly from the NCFC boardroom.
 2.
Food for thought for those who think depriving the club of funds in these troubling times is a good tactic........... If you think our situation could not be worse.......... you are not thinking very hard!
Aren''t the people who are supposedly ''depriving the club of funds'' those who have already paid a large of sum of money towards next season?
 3.

Am strangely looking forward to it for some reason!
chance of wembley!
Chance of a new ground!
 4.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but seriously, I''m glad we''re not Southampton; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8072132.stm
Food for thought for those who think depriving the club of funds in these troubling times is a good tactic........... 5. Am strangely looking forward to it for some reason!
 6. I assumed it was compulsory, although can''t find anything to suggest either way. In my opinion, it would be pretty disrespectful not to enter.  We''re on a level playing field with most of those teams now.
 7. Having re-read the EEN ''plea'' it seems even worse the second time.  It is a piece of patronising cr*p in the same vein as the "Get behind the Canaries" campaign last season or whatever it was.  Yes, there is a lot of criticism at the moment, but it implies that the problems and solutions to all our ills lie simply with the supporters. Why do they imply that the fans won''t be likely to get behind the team?  18,000 have renewed and there will be members going as well.  People aren''t going to walk away just like that.  People aren''t going to boo Gunn as soon as the first whistle goes (I don''t want him as boss but I''m not going to boo him).  Despite what people say, the majority of this message board will still be there or supporting from afar.  The fans raised the roof for the last few home games (Sheff Wed the possible exception) and turned out in big numbers away.  Rightly or wrongly, the criticism didn''t come until 30 minutes in at The Valley when all was lost and in the following days afterwards.  The fans have stuck by the club with incredible loyalty, yet all I feel is that we''re told, ""well, thanks for what you''ve done but its not enough". Yes, I''m unhappy with the way things are, but I hate being told HOW to support the team by the local rag when there are so many other pressing bloody issues at the club. Rant over.  Deep breaths!  [:@]

 9.
Good post Ryan, It is a generous offer by Foulger. However, some on here would not be happy if he put in £50 million of his own money they would still complain. None of them have any constructive argument or offer any feasable alternative.
Would they?
 10.
Regardless of your view on the merits or otherwise of the rebate it’s yet another cracking piece of writing. We kick-off (sorry) with “But the path to redemption is illuminated today” – this sounds like a real “Road to Damascus” moment to me, a light flashed from upon high, and a voice told me not to claim my rebate. Thanks be to God and Amen. Then we have the “Some fans disagreed with the decision to reappoint Bryan Gunn as manager” – technically correct, but I recall that the poll carried out showed a 50/50 split for and against. Personally speaking I know no more than a handful who thought he was a good appointment. Following on with “If, and hopefully it will be a big if, things go from bad to worse, we can deal with the potential ramifications then”, neglecting to tell us that the ramifications will be that the transfer budget, which was swelled by the season ticket refund money, will have been blown on a bunch of players the new manager doesn’t want and some whopping severance payments for the failed management team. And then the finale, and this was the one that was really worth waiting for, “We all long to hear the Canaries singing from the top of the Premiership”, - the sort of phrase my eight year old daughter would come up with on a bad day. A desperately poor piece of writing in a leading article which was intended to sway the “floating voter” supporters back in favour of the giving up the season ticket rebate. Surely Archant could have come up with something better for an issue so important to NCFC? I wonder will own up to writing it?
Amen to that Tim.
 11.
King''s Lynn lose appeal. Unibond or Southern Premier Division awaits.... http://www.edp24.co.uk/content/edp24/sport/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=Sport&tBrand=EDPOnline&tCategory=xDefault&itemid=NOED28%20May%202009%2013%3A55%3A35%3A883
No surprise.  The Conference never give in on these matters.  Shame.
 12. The whole thing looks like one massive charity appeal.  Makes me sick when you think how much money of ours has been thrown away and wasted. Don''t fall for it everybody.  Stick to what you''ve already paid.  Or give it to a worthier cause.
 13.
after reading this board i have noticed no end of insults to many posters on here wether they be those who hate delia or love her or just want to support the club, especially insults about peoples grammar, come on guys get a grip why does it matter how someone writes, my grammer isnt the best in the world as i prefer numerical skilled classes at school thenm those that i had to write loads in, well so what thats what spell check is for, I aint stupid and i dont care if you insult my grammar because this forum isnt about grammar its about football especially football at norwich city, which for many of the last few seasons has not been played to the standard that i certainly remember in the late 80s and early 90s, simple fact that no matter what the insult is, there is someone to blame for the demise of our glorious club and that is the top level, the board, yes delia has shelled in her money into the club, but look what shes got back from it, 67% of control, and many loans which are being paid back to her at a monthly sum, simple fact, the board chooses the manager, the board chooses the wage budget, the board chooses the transfer fund, the board chooses and the manager must obey do we blame the workers for the collapse of the banking system, no the blame lies with the board for making crap decisions, same principle, yes the manager must take some of the blame as he chooses the players to buy, but the players must take some of the blame as they obviously played well at previous clubs but some couldnt be bothered to fight for our club, but ultimately the board have paid peanuts for to long and weve got a squad thats devolved into a bunch of monkeys, so come on insult me all you like, insult my grammar all you like but i really dont care as theres only three things i care about in this world and thats my family, my club, and my career, and nothing will change that.
Insults get you noticed on here.  I began to give up on more rational posts a long time ago because nobody responded or listened.  If you can''t beat ''em, join ''em.
 14.
Michael Foulger says that he personally will match every penny that the fans pledge, he is a fan, you are fans. Im not telling you to give your rebate, but there is absolutely no reason why Foulger should be expected to give up to 600k to the club "regardless". A nice gesture from the only decent Director we have, who clearly obviously cares about the club, Is worth a lot less money than Delia and MWJ and has probably lost a fair bit of money in the recession. Even if the club only collects 200k from the rebate, there is somebody willing to match. Carl Moores is a legend for giving his money to the club when we are in need, yet Foulger is insulted? Nice one Foulg.
Tough.  The fans have done their bit already.  If Fouler and the board knew how to run a football club properly, we wouldn''t be in this position in the first place.
 15. I''ve got no problem with Kings Lynn even if their supporters don''t all like us.  I like to see all the region''s clubs do well (except Ipswich obviously).  Good luck to them, but I don''t think they''ll get the appeal overturned - the Conference are usually real sticklers in these matters.
 16.
Sep Guardiola 38 years old, a former Barcelona player and a former European Cup winner with the Club, has won an historic Spanish League and Cup double as well as the Champions League in his first season as a manager. OK, so he has better players at his disposal than Gunn will have but you don''t need Messi & Co to get out of League 1.
Not even comparable.  Guardiola coached the Barcelona B team  for a year and got them promoted.  Gunn has done next to nothing on the coaching side in comparison.
 17. The board only have themselves to blame for writing the clause into the season ticket contracts.  Tough I''m afraid - the fans have more than done their bit over the years and in advance of next season.  This is all nothing but a guilt trip and smacks of the same tone when that letter last year implied the fans had affected Glenn Roeder''s playing budget by not using the matchday buyback scheme.
 18.
er... new stadium lol...
Not for a while though.  I know a Brighton fan and apparently they aren''t due in Falmer till about 2011.  They''re still at the Withdean till then unfortunately. Southend haven''t moved yet either.  Most clubs are still where they were when we last played them.
 19.
Thought this might be of interest. I am in the process of moving house and in the clear out I came across and old newspaper, not knowing why I had kept it I turned to the back page where there was a full page picture of Jeremy Goss scoring his goal against Bayern Munich. I thought I would share part of the report with you. "Maybe the cynics will sit up now, take notice and recognise Norwich for what they are - the best side the premeirship has, with the exception of Man Utd". I probably knew it would not get any better than that, that''s why I kept the newspaper. Hope I haven''t depressed everyone too much.
Cornwall, I did a similar thing and kept a few of the European papers because I had a gut feeling that it would all come to an end soon (even got Gossy to sign the pics of him).  Likewise, I kept loads of stuff from the Championship winning season.  Papers, tickets, photos, etc, because you never know when things will turn quickly, as it sadly did.
 20.

Iwan Roberts doesn''t speak too highly of Green in his book. Says quite a few times that he''s very antisocial and regularly turns his back on his team-mates. When I used to live near the Rose Tavern, Greeno would be in there most Saturday nights with his own pals regardless if we''d played at home or away or won or lost.
" Says quite a few times that he''s very antisocial and regularly turns his back on his team-mates." That''s not exactly true is it Chunky??  There is a section where Iwan talks about organising days and nights out and he says Gary Holt keeps himself to himself and doesn''t often go and that Greeno had lived in Norwich for quite a while so he had lots of local mates that he''d go out with rather than his team mates.  But nowhere does it mention him ''turning his back'' on his team mates! I know for a fact that Greeno and the rest of the players from the championship winnning team would only occassionly go out if they lost a match as Worthy would actively  discourage them from doing so.  Then again that side didn''t use to lose too many so people didn''t mind as much if they were out after a defeat.
Maybe I''m wrong but from the stuff I know, he''s always come across to me as somebody who isn''t like your ''normal'' stereotypical footballer.  Seems to keep himself to himself and is a bit more level headed.  Whether its because he''s a goalkeeper or because that''s simply his personality I don''t know.  I''ve got more respect for him after his mountain climbing expeditions.  He didn''t have to do it, but he gave it go. The fans always got on well with him until the last few weeks of 2005-6.  It would be a shame if that soured everything he''d done before.
 21. Judging from the stuff I''ve seen, I think there''s a lot of neutrals who find it hilarious that Newcastle are down, and a lot of people who don''t particularly care either way that Norwich are down.

 23. I hope Burnley go up.  Its been a long long time for them, and to me they are one of the ''traditional'' top flight teams (but that''s age talking). Think I''d fancy either of them to do better than Hull next time.  Phil Brown will be gone by Christmas.
 24.
Now that we know all the teams we will be playing next season it''s interesting to see how many familiar clubs we will be playing who have been regular visitors to Carrow Road over the last 10-15 years in both the Premier League and the Championship. Of the 23 clubs, no less than 15 have played City in the league over that period. So in some ways watching most of the matches won''t feel that much different from what we''re used to. Small comfort I know!
Everyone keeps telling me about all the new grounds to visit, but looking at the teams involved, I''ve already been to most of them with City.  Its not that long since we were playing Stockport, Southend, Colchester, Brighton, etc.
 25. And on the year where I have to work more Saturdays.  Bah!  [:@]
