Hackedoff 0 Posted April 23, 2013 The Cardiff lot seem to think its to do with Bennett but like OP stated must be more serious with Turner than 1st thought
norfolkbroadslim 225 Posted April 23, 2013 Martin should be recalled.................. Can only mean bad news regarding Holt''s injury........ It must have been confirmed that he is not just obese but also very kwrap. [^o)]
AJ 1,359 Posted April 23, 2013 You wouldn''t recall him unless needed at this stage - maybe Turner won''t play again this season. Such a shame if true, he''s been so good this year
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted April 23, 2013 Job done at Cardiff, back up needed due to Turner injury. Hope he gets some game time versus Stoke.
norfolkbroadslim 225 Posted April 23, 2013 Is there any possibility whatsoever of Ryan Bennett facing a ban for his twitter comments?
nochain09 0 Posted April 23, 2013 Did a pretty good job earlier in the home win! Gained some good playing time and experience so at least not walking into it cold!!
Dr Greenthumb 794 Posted April 24, 2013 I think Barnett is a better option to Bennett anyway. Extra mat fitness and winning mentality can help and I''m sure he has a point to prove.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted April 24, 2013
Is there any possibility whatsoever of Ryan Bennett facing a ban for his twitter comments?
Nope, Ashley Cole called the FA tw@ts in a tweet and didn''t get a ban. The only people who might give Bennett a ban are the club themselves, but that really isn''t going to happen over some midly agressive tweets. I would suspect Barnett is back as Turner picked up an injury and will be out for a while, Hughton said it was a groin injury and they can easily last 2 or 3 weeks - it was also fairly obvious that Bassong was struggling at the end of the Reading game so he might need to be protected a little. Norwich only had 3 centerbacks whilst Barnett was on loan, so if one is injured it seems fairly clear why he would be recalled.
Salopian 1 Posted April 24, 2013 The most obvious reason is that a) Turner will not be quite fit for Stoke, and CH does not want to risk him. It does not necessarily mean that Turner is out for the rest of the season. It means that we need someone else to deal with high balls, and Barnett has shown himself well able to do this, even if he is not so good in other aspects. b) There is some uncertainty over Bennett''s availability, either because CR has decided that as part of disciplining him he must muiss the game, or because they expect the football authorities to intervene. In either event, they wish to go into the match with at least three specialist CDs, and not risk Martin or Whittaker trying to deal with the inevitable high balls. Yellow Wal 315 Posted April 24, 2013 Although not a great lover of Leon''s football I feel he will be better equipped to play against Stoke than Ryan Bennett.Barnett is match fit and aware and Bennett''s main job is not to score (although it was very good to see) but to stop the opposition scoring. Is it unkind and unfair to say that he gave McCleary too much room for his shot as I felt he could have closed him down far better as he advanced on our goal. I also have a thing about players on five figure weekly wages turning their backs on shots. For that much money they can shoot at me all day!
Media_Student 0 Posted April 24, 2013 Happy to welcome back a player in form and high in confidence after a successful spell at Cardiff. I''d personally put him straight in to face Stoke alongside Seb, yes it''d be harsh on Ryan Bennett but I also think he''d be better equipped to combat Stoke''s playing style, and I guess protect Ryan Bennett a bit after his twitter discipline? (assuming he needs protecting for whatever reason).Shame that it seems that Turner''s injury is worse than first thought, but Barnett is a competent replacement in my opinion. Is Ayala still injured at Forest? He''d of been another option to consider recalling if fit?
