Norwich preparing £3m swoop for Brighton striker Mackail-Smith

Norwich manager Chris Hughton will go back for £3m Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith after missing out on him in the summer.

Hughton is keen to boost his side’s goal tally with Grant Holt having scored only four times this season.

Mackail-Smith, 28, has reached double figures in the Championship.

Hmm..they''re definitely after strikers as Poyet admitted himself after the game against Watford. Would make sense to sell CMS and then use the money for those new strikers. Wouldn''t pay anything over £3m for him..he''d do the Holt role well I''d imagine and with more pace and energy, but obviously not the aerial threat.

Not the best striker, but better than we have got perhaps in Kane, Morison and Jackson. More proven at least, £3M is probably a bit much at his age though, but hey, if it keeps us winning games I''ll trust Hughton!

I watched the Brighton Watford game yesterday and have to say CMS didn''t impress me at all. After a good start to the season his goals have dried up and on top of that he turns 29 early next year. Might have been worth a punt if he was 5 years younger.

I''d rather have Danny Graham.

CMS would fit the way we play much better than Morison. His work rate and touch are far better than Morison. For me Morison only really shines in 4-4-2 and looks lost upfront on his own. We looked much better yesterday when Kane came on.
