Back by popular demand - the 2013 Relegation Mini League(tm)
I assume 2013 Relegation Mini-League (TM) will be available in the shops in time for Christmas,[G] preferably as a double offer with Forum Moderator 2013?
I''m not going into any partnerships with Mister ever again Purple. When I concentrated on the forum moderator software I left him in charge of the forum bullying helpline. He just leaves it to ring.....
Not quite true.  In its last few weeks I connected it to an answering service which told the caller they were unimportant and would never amount to anything, but to leave a message after the beep for nobody to listen to.
I always wanted to do that but I''m a more "arm round the shoulder" type of guy....

"We assess every game and that is the only way to do it."

There we have it, EVERY game.

Now where can we see a table that reflects EVERY game ? The one that has us 7th, perhaps ? The one that everyone else uses ........... yep.

ps you cannot actually add new teams to this nerdo''s nonsense as it would then expose it for the the twaddle it is - all it exists for is to try and perpetuate the myth that City are relegation candidates, why someone should wish to do that is more important

The one I don''t get is Wigan being in, but not Villa? I can see why this year''s new teams plus the ones from last season (QPR, Swans & us) may be included for symmetry, but then Wigan are in as an extra

An absolute must.

Because it needs other clubs to put beside City, the idea being that however well we do our real place is in a relegation battle. The recognition, by everyone else, that form changes, places in the table also change is irrelevant as this is not about any prediction, merely a wish to continue to tag us as no more thatn relegation fodder.

The fact that this ''playing against the likely relegation candidates'' has any meaning is also a pile of old bollox matters little either. That it is old bollox is shown by the fact that we have gained 11 points from ten games against the bottom ten clubs, and 14 points from 7 games against the top half teams ie twice as many points per game from the top half teams.

Some may wish to project City as no more than ''relegation fodder'' - it is for them to know why they want to do that, and for the rest of us to guess at.

7th place must hurt them dearly.

Some posters do have this uncanny knack for repetitively and 100% accurately describing the views of all of us (including our manager) whose admittedly contemptible aim was for NCFC to get at least 40-odd points as soon as possible and end up guaranteed 17th place or higher, following the uncertainties around our change of manager.

As implied, I personally will wish - and Mr Hughton will actively work - for the team to lose every single game as soon as these aims are guaranteed because, in line with human nature, we will be extremely unhappy to exceed our targets, adjust our targets based on experience, or indeed reap the potential rewards of finishing higher up the table.

Absolutely right. Whingers, whiners and Dickens characters, all of us. We are rooting for failure - we are just aching for that next loss - we will not be happy until we are back where we belong (tugs forelock).

Perhaps this thread should just be a hub for all doom-mongers and "Were a relegation candidate" group of people.

Or maybe it is already.

[8]It''s the most wonderful time of the year....[8]A flaw in the previous table showed Southampton with one point fewer than was the case.  I should have known when the individual paid to compile the table told me he had recently left the BBC News department.  Anyway, he''s been fired now so let''s all move on.“We certainly won’t lose sight of what the realities are.  We are still in a group of teams where it is still all about staying in this division."Chris Hughton sees the value of the mini-league, December 2012.

So to come from these 6 games alone we have Reading, Villa, Soton and Swansea at home and QPR and Wigan away.

If we simply repeat another 10 points from these 6 games we will have broken the back fo the extra 15 points,  with 5 more points needed from the remaining 13 games.    Something to calm the 94/95 conspirators!

And in the next 2 weeks Aston Villa have Southampton and Wigan at home, and Swansea away... some interesting discussions might take place in Villa Park if they don''t get at least one win out of that lot.I think Reading might get their first win on 27th April 2013 which may be a record for lameness.

As a so-called ''94-95 conspirator'', I''ll only be happy with the points on the board - that''s what our history tells us. I think Newcastle at home is a big game for us. Hopefully, the board will have bought another striker in by then.

We can undertake all the analysis we want but lose against both Man City and West Ham, that''s four defeats in a row, and the confidence our recent run has been built on eroded.

We''ve lost two on the trot and remain the same number of points away from the drop zone as we were when we beat Wigan. We''ll be fine (probably) but the West Ham game is pretty significant (assuming we lose to Oasis FC) - lose that one and a few hearts (mine included) will be fluttering.

A very Happy New Year from Chicago Rock Cafe, this week''s sponsors of the Relegation Mini League.

“We said this at the start. Realistically there are going to be

eight teams that fight it out and it’s almost can you win that mini-league,

because if you do then you’ll be alright.

I’d take this position we are in now come the end of the season.”

Russell Martin, Pink Un October 24th 2012
“At the start of the season you look at these games and you hope

to pick up as many points as you can from the teams you think may be in and

around you come the end of the season,” he said.

“They’re really important – points against the likes of Spurs and Arsenal,

they’re bonuses.”  Anthony

Pilkington, Pink Un November 2012
“We certainly won’t lose sight of what the realities are.  We are still in a group of teams where it

is still all about staying in this division."

Chris Hughton sees the value

of the mini-league, December 2012.

You''d like city back by popular demand? What on earth are you on about?

No one believes we are safe, it''s January. I believe we will be safe because I actually have some faith in the team I support. If you are a Norwich fan Highland, I suggest you go find another club as you clearly cannot enjoy supporting this one. I suggest Barcelona, they probably won''t disappoint you too much by daring to lose a few games after a fantastic 10 game unbeaten run...

We''re certainly not safe yet but we do have home games against Reading, Southampton, Swansea and Villa and away trips to QPR and Wigan to come.  Twelve points from that lot and we are virtually there - Reading and QPR won''t get more than 32 points this season.
