not sure if this has been mentioned, but i have been watching sky sports news all day and ten minutes or so ago they had one of their reporters outside Carrow rd talking about how he had talked to close associates of Lambert who told him he was unhappy that the board were given him a small budget and they were willing to sell Holt and were talking about selling Howson. If this is true i would be very angry with the board, Howson is a star of the future and i think a future captain and perhaps England star, he needs to stay, as i think does Holt

I think it''s pretty certain IF they were considering selling Howson (which I find hard to believe anyway), they certainly won''t be now. No chance they''d risk the fan backlash.

i hope your right, i wouldn''t usually listen to that sort of stuff but he was very upfront about talking to people close to Lambert and i hadn''t heard the Howson rumour yet

Wouldn''t have thought so. He hasn''t attracted a great deal of attention outside of Carrow Road, so isn''t the biggest player to "cash in" on.

Pilkington, Holt and Ruddy are more likely if we were to cash in on anyone.

But McNally wouldn''t.... Would he?

We are going to be constantly losing our best players because like it or not, we are not yet one of those clubs that is able to hang on to them.    If we progress and appear to be here longer term, then we will be better placed, but it is why no smaller club has yet been able to do a ''Nottingham Forest'' of yesteryear.    No-one can  afford to turn down big money offers for their players - unless they are at a club that has silly money.

I am not shooting the messenger as I think that the bitching on here has much improved lately!

Holt''s request was turned down instantly by the board. Howson would be on PL''s wish list so I see a bit of stirring from Lambert''s people there. Lambert is gone so support must go to the board in order to resist the deliberate unsettling of the squad.
