If this is true from the Daily Mail then we should be worried. If it isn''t then the club should make a statement and take legal action against the newspaper.

"Paul Lambert would welcome the chance

to speak to Aston Villa about the manager''s job after falling out with

norwich over summer spending plans.

His first move at Villa Park would be to try to sign Norwich striker

Grant Holt, who had a shock transfer request turned down this week."

The trouble is, that no matter how we laugh at the journalistic standards of the Daily Mail and the rest of the press, many still believe what they write.

Seen some hilarious tweets this morning from Villa fans saying they don''t want Lambert at their club because of the way he''s chucked his toys out of his pram here. Which paper published that little work of fiction?

Could it be that these pathetic attempts at journalism are actually egged on by the likes of  James Nursey (an NCFC supporter, no less) with articles such as the following example that appeared in the lefty Mirror on Thursday? : http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-column-why-the-villa-job-837185
