Nexus_Canary 1,206 Posted September 25, 2010 I cant help but feel Cody will not wear a Norwich shirt again :(Although I sincerly hope i am wrong !!
Gingerpele 0 Posted September 25, 2010 well GenerationA47, if you want to pay the £30 return train fair for me, i''ll be happy to go to every home game, but as a student i can''t afford it :P (well i could get a job, but the easiest time to work, would be weekends...which wouldn''t work really...as the only thing i would want to spend the extra money on, would be getting to Norwich games....) Mister Chops 7 Posted September 25, 2010 Jamie Cureton > Cody McDonald.
ron obvious 1,711 Posted September 25, 2010
Jamie Cureton > Cody McDonald.
Have to disagree with that one Mr. C. His finishing is no worse (probably better), he''s quicker, more enthusiastic, provides more assists & generally provides more of a pain in the backside to the opposition. I''d have rather kept him than Oli.

[:(]Now here''s a thought, sparked by your witty (but, I presume in your case, merely idle) suggestion... perhaps an all-conquering Mr Foulger would actually introduce a Big Society-driven ''Canaries Adopt-A-Student'' scheme. Those more mature working fans who''ve put a bit of money by over the years, especially if abroad themselves and therefore unable to make the games, will be invited to make generous donations to pay for a named student to travel to every possible home match that season on their behalf. (Priority to undergraduates reading Fisheries with Astronomy, or Golf Studies, in distant places like the University of the Shetland Islands.) In return, the sponsors will be able to view photos of you enjoying the matchday experience, which you will be uploading in real time to a dedicated NCISA web page.I''m willing to bet that particularly members of Lakenham''s neofascist pensioner community when on their Thai holidays, and certainly no-nonsense friendly chaps like Morty when in overseas locations for work reasons, will leap to sponsor a lovely fellow poster such as yourself - it''s a hand up, not a hand-out! Or perhaps you think those three players are also useless?Personally I think that Holt & Martin probably have more to offer. But I think he provides more options than Oli, given that we already have Jackson, who is similar to Oli in that he can produce a few moments of inspiration, rather than Cody''s non-stop effort, & I rate Simeon higher than Oli. Gingerpele 0 Posted September 25, 2010 From what i have seen of Oli and Cody, i prefer Cody...When he got a little run in the team last season, he scored a couple of goals, showed how hard he works, and put him self about a bit....but then got injured, and never got that chance again, and probably never will...One big disadvantage he has, is the age he came into football...23/24 is quite late to become a professional footballer, and he hasn''t really been provided with a chance to grow yet...so someone like Chris Martin, this must be his 4th season now? maybe 5th, and he has been developing, and at 21, is getting more mature etc....but Cody hasn''t had that luxury.... Everyone cites Cody''s recent transition from non-league as an issue but conveniantly forget that Oli was playing further down the non-league pyramid before moving on and hardly set the world alight at Stockport. Oli has had a years worth of professional coaching ahead of Cody and looks no better for it. Cody has pace and commitment - still Oli has a decent ''fro, I suppose... Yellow Rider 0 Posted September 27, 2010
Lower league player who was never going to cut it here. Not better than Holty, Chrissy, Jacko or Oli.Just cant see him getting a chance.
And of course he had so many chances of first team football here did''nt he?? Truth is Cody was dealt a poor hand by PL last season and hardly kicked a ball at first team level. With no reserve team football now fringe players simply lack match fitness and sharpness. Unless PL is more flexible and willing to give these boys more than a token ten minutes (usually a hell of a lot less) Jackson and Oli will go the same way.
