if/when were in the championship what would you expect from the team. Would you be happy finishing 4th from bottom or would you expect mid table, top half, playoffs, top 2, winners

With little money and large debt, consolidation must be the objective. I am guesssing that this is what the Board has in mind - accumulation of players over a three year period in order to mount a promotion challenge in, say, five years.

If we are promoted, then it will have to be gradual. Each year relegated Premiership sides will receive four or five years of consolation money, - way beyond what we can expect to have. Existing championship teams will struggle to match them, and we must be patient.

I would say that anything above mid table would be a good result, I am sure Lambert would want to be pushing for a play off at the very least, but I do not think that we are anywhere near ready for back to back promotions at this stage. A decent mid table or above position would give the management team and players the opportunity to adjust to life in Championship and for Paul and the team to see who is out of their depth and where we need to strengthen. So long as we are not in a relegation battle at any stage I would say it has been successful.

That and good run in the cups, and of course any position higher than the team from Suffolk.

It’s going to be a tough season with some good sides battling out for a direct return to the Prem along with those that just missed out this year.

Consolidate next season, strengthen and prepared for a good crack at promotion the following year.

Prediction 62 points and 9th! [;)]

As mentioned elsewhere a promoted team always does well in the following season.  So I''ll be brave and predict 6th in the Championship next season (although I dont think we''ll get through the playoffs as well)

We should be worrying more about finishing this seasons job first!

The new board and Lambert don''t seem the sorts who will fanny about and they also don''t understate our massive potential!

The Championships stronger obviously but not that wonderful!

I think this seasons team would of been capable of a top half Championship finish this season so replace 3-4 fringe players with Championship quality players then I think we''d be capable of a big push for the top 6!

But If the Binners stay up will we be allowed to play them on a Saturday, Qpr v Palace are more of a Derby than we are so whats the odds on us playing on a saturday

Would be happy enough with a mid table finish with a look to keeping the momentum going under Lambert, constantly improving the squad.

Just like this season I think we should aim to win the league.

Obviously I wouldn''t be disappointed if we had a good season but didn''t quite finish that high up the table.

However, we''ve got an inspiring manager, a hard working and talented bunch of players who have come together as a team and in general there''s a good feeling around the place.

Just nicely away from a relegation battle will do me fine, with Smith, Rudd and Martin progressing to become really promising local players

the is no reason with the talent we have in the squad why we cant push for a play-off place .

we don''t have the same squad we did last season.with 3 or 4 quality players added we should give the best of them a run for their money.
