Ginja 43 Posted January 27, 2010

i think he will be our best player
I don''t
Well this is an inspiring debate [;)]Personally I thought he played well, and while he may not be very classy player, he''s energetic and hard working, playing in a similar vein to Gary Holt. Really? can''t see it myself, he''s nowhere near as physical or hard working, seems a bit of an injury prone lightwieght imo, I''d say Hughes is much more of the classy playmaker rather than the combative box to box player that Holt was/is. Having said he''s a lightweight, at the same time I do think we play our best football when he''s in the side, he can pick out a lovely pass, very economical with the ball and seems to work extremely well with Wes putting him into positions where he can show his magic. If he can some how gain a bit more weight and develop a harder edge to him then he could be first class, however I don''t know how likely that is seeing as he''s 25(?) already, might be something for the management to look at over the summer. Libbra Lives in Dubai 0 Posted January 27, 2010 Reminds me more of Ian Crook than Gary Holt.

Captain Fantastic 0 Posted January 27, 2010 Seens pretty lightweight to me.. seemed reluctant to get stuck into the tackles of if worried about getting injured.
Boyo 0 Posted January 27, 2010 I think he has the potential to be really good. Other than Wes he is the only player in the team who can thread the ball through the eye of a needle, he is composed and confident on the ball and never wastes possesion. And as for him being lightweight, for his size I think he puts himself about quite well.
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 27, 2010 I think he is worse than Fozzy :D
I am a Banana 0 Posted January 27, 2010 Hoolahan is the best player this team has got and i think if we sold hoolahan we would struggle to stay top, if we sold hughes we would stay top [:D]
Power Ranger Canary 0 Posted January 27, 2010 when match fit he could be the best player in the squad however dont think he really fits into are system, technicaly best player we have, wes is too one footed, although he looks lightweight he had success in spl wich isnt exactly known for being a league of panseys. Darren Lamb 0 Posted January 27, 2010 I really like Hughes, I feel if Wes was to get injured he would be the next best thing. It''s a shame he is quite injury prone, he is a really classy player, I can''t believe someone compared him to Grant Holt! Great player to bring on and I think he would walk into any team in this division, including Leeds and Charlton, just shows our depth.

The Walking Man 13 Posted January 28, 2010 I like Hughes as a player, he''s got an eye for a great pass and in that respect he reminds me of Phil Mulryne pre injury, often makes the complicated things look simple.
AJ 1,359 Posted January 28, 2010 Corr, you people are so blind. Hughes is the new Ronaldo! Have you seen his ball skills?!
