king canary 8,758 Posted February 18, 2009 Indeed. Watford are in trouble as are Plymouth. My feeling is Forest have the quality to put together a Doncaster like run to lift them out of it. Southampton and Charlton I cant see staying up so I see the last place being between us Forest Plymouth, Watford and Barnsley.
Theres only one Ken Foggo 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Don''t forget Blackpool - lost 4-1 tonight and they only have 38 points and could quite easily be sucked in too, especially if City were to win at Bloomfield Road next month.
Yellow Submarine 0 Posted February 18, 2009 For me I hope Neil Adams was right with his early prediction at the start of the season about Plymouth! They''re the ones I''ve got my eyes on!............ Please don''t sack Sturrock he''s doing a great job!
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted February 18, 2009 With all the doom and gloom on here at the moment, it is almost as if people have forgotten that the best part of a third of the season is still to go. Yes our position is poor, but it is still far too early to predict anything at all. Any of the sides in the bottom 8-10 (yes, including us) could go on a decent run in the next 4-5 games which would leave everyone talking on about how they are safe - which they certainly won''t be; similarly the sides in 14th-18th could go on a poor run which will have people saying they are doomed - which they won''t be. We could certainly do with some points under our belt in the two home games coming up so as to get back into the pack as soon as possible, if only to temporarily relieve some of the tension/pressure. But whatever, I am certain that it will go to the last few games - even the last one - before we are either officially doomed or safe.

It is too early still to predict anything, my worry is that we need to improve and I just cannot see where this improvement will come from.
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted February 18, 2009 ...we do actually have 13 games left (28.2% of the season) - don''t wish those games away, could be important points!! I used 1/3 as some sides do have 15 matches left (32.46% of the season) and the average seems to be 14 (30.3%) so I rounded up....People seem to be talking about an improvement being needed, which of course it is true, but it does have to be said that had we had a modicum of luck in recent games (and a better ref than clown D''Urso) we could well have had a point from both Brizzle and Preston. We only lost those games by the odd goal, so there is not that much which needs to turn in our favour....it has to be said that a clean sheet would be a fantastic start. clumber1987 0 Posted February 19, 2009 I think it will be Southampton and Charlton plus either us or Plymouth or Barnsley. Plymouth are dropping like a stone, but are probably due a few results and Barnsley are just a strange side, who seem to be completely hopeless and then string together 3 or 4 excellent results. Either way I am getting more concerned by the game. Next two matches are beyond huge.
clumber1987 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Also to the guy who said we may go on a good run. you been to the games this year. There is no way we will pull away or anything. We may scrape enough points together, but we lack the quality required to put say 4 wins in 5 together. Where are the goals coming from? How will we ever keep a clean sheet? We wont. Against Burnely and Coventry you know the score will not be Norwich x Opposition 0. Never mind we''ll have to rely on goal machine Jamie Cureton.

yellow hammer 131 Posted February 19, 2009 Looking at the "Goals For" column in the table we actually have a fairly reasonable tally. In fact we have scored more goals than Birmingham who are in an automatic promotion place. The "Goals Against" column shows why we are in the bottom three. We let in nearly double the goals of Birmingham. If we are to survive them we must stop sides scoring against us. Keep a clean sheet as first priority then nick a goal and we get all three points. SWP = Poor Mans Ruel Fox!! 0 Posted February 19, 2009 After Wednesday''s matches we are fourth favourite to get relegated at Corals behind Charlton, Southampton and Plymouth. Plymouth are in serious freefall, I only hope their board dont grow a pair and sack Sturrock!
