nutty nigel 7,902 Posted November 28, 2008 To fit in with the 1959 50th anniversary we should play Manchester United at home. Could it happen? But even if it did we wouldn''t be playing with snow on the pitch. Would be a coincidence though!100 years ago we were a non-league club and we were at home to Reading in the first round (I think all the clubs started in round one back then). We finally got through after two replays before winning 3-2 at first division Liverpool. That must have been a huge upset at the time! Any one remember the game? Ricardo?? Lapp?? [;)]We lost at Bristol City in the next round. They were first division too and they went all the way to the final where they lost to Manchester United at Crystal Palace! Manchester United at home for me because with the 1959 connection it really would have a chance of being a live game and big money for the club. Of course it would have more chance of being a live game if BBC still did it. It''s a Motty type story to tell!I''ll collect my anorak now shall I? Mind you I''d take any Prem team at home over something like Rotherham away!
