Gingerpele 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Is rubbish, Right everyone was pretty bad yesturday, but clingan chases, and NEVER wins the ball, he does a couple of good passes, cant shoot to save his life, and just runs around
E I E I E I O 0 Posted November 16, 2008 I work with a Forest fan and he is a Level 3 FA coach, I asked him about Sammy when he signed. His reply is he is ok, will do a average job but nothing spectacular. Fans on here have been talking as if he is Maradonna. I have not seen anything pro-active myself. Our side is that bad that very, very average players such as the Doc and Clingan look good. I believe we are worse off now than we was under Grant!
Captain Holt 580 Posted November 16, 2008 Alright Clingan was poor yesterday, but in fairness (other than the Doc) who wasn''t?Clingan is far from "Rubbish" Pele, and I think he''s been our best signing so far.
Yellowbeagle 0 Posted November 16, 2008 We cant afford to get in the habit of getting at players after having one or two poor games, Clingan has played well over the course of the season so far. No one is saying he''s Maradona but he in most cases does a good specialist job for the team and there is no player in the whole country that doesnt have poor matches from time to time. bringbackterraces 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Clingan has looked good amongst our shower of sh**e but isn''t a forward thinking midfielder, he is a holding one and a lot of our problems this season have been an indirectness when going forward! Clingan like some of the other impressive players at the start of the season have now had their confidence shattered and are now struggling!
Lord Flashheart 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Anyone who''s willing to Cling himself to MY midfield gets MY support! WOOF!
Gingerpele 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Im not just saying yesturday, he dosnt acutally win theb all very often, he does do some good things, hes not totaly rubbish, but is not that good really.
O.T.B.C 1 Posted November 16, 2008 Thought that Clingfilm has been are most effective player this year. Not saying a lot, but he has been good, baring the last 3 games for me.
GJP 79 Posted November 16, 2008 I''m quite impressed with Sammy Clingan so far. He''s a good passer of the ball, he''s not afraid to get stuck in and he reads the game quite well. Feel a bit sorry for him at the moment though because he''s having to do more than his fair share in the centre of midfield. We all know Rusty has been off form in recent weeks and has struggled to make an impact on games and then yesterday Fotheringham just couldn''t get anywhere near Swansea. Not that that''s saying too much.
barclay seats 4849 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Sammy cannot be singled out on a bad team performance. I like others here , think he is one of the better signings, but I also agree that there seems to be a confidence issue. Carry the ball more Sammy !! Chase if you lose it !! I genuinely think that Sammy and Darel are our combative midfield to get us out of the mess we are in..................................JUST NOT WITH THAT PR*T ROEDER IN CHARGE ! H4H 0 Posted November 16, 2008 I am not sure what game of football you lot were watching yesterday. Clingan was by far our best player (which does not say much), but at least he made tackles and ran around with a bit of passion. He does the job Gary Holt did for us. As for Bell, apart from a couple of good free kicks, he was rubbish, in the scond half he lost the ball every time he got it. I was very disspointed.Doc was solid, but he was to blame for two of the goals.Marshall is a good shot stopper but that is it.
sam 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Fotheringham was to blame for the first goal, he was no where to be seen and lost his man. As for Clingan, he was dire, almost as bad as Fotheringham. His passing was awful and overall play was shocking. Since the Wolves game where he was very good, both him and Darel Russell have gone missing. How he got MOM on Saturday i will never know, it clealry should have been Doherty, he was the only one who looked composed and dare i say it interested. He is the only good centre half Norwich have, Kennedy and Stefanovic haven''t been good enough and i know i will get stick for that but IMO they haven''t done much, particulalrly Kennedy who just hoofs everything and his headers go straight up in the air with no conviction.I have still yet to see Ryan Bertrand have a good game for Norwich, drop him and play Drury. Hoolahan needs to start, he is the only player Norwich have who can pass the bloody ball, let alone create something. Have to say that David Bell was very dissapointing on Saturday also and Pattison did some very good things but when he doesn''t he is awful. Lupoli was on his ar** more than his feet, he is too lightweight and goes over and appeals for everything in typical Italian style. The starting 11 for Nottingham Forrest should be:Marshall, Otsemobor, Kennedy, Doherty, Drury, Bell, Clingan, Pattison, Hoolahan, Lita, SibierksiSubs: Nelson, Omosuzi, Croft, Cureton, Lupoli. SitTee 0 Posted November 16, 2008 I think clingan is one of the better players in our squad. He is a holder of the ball and a good set piece taker

Rock bottom, with one foot in the third tier of English football and about 8 points adrift of safety. We were absolute total dross. If anyone had said to me then that we would go on a 13 game unbeaten run, let alone survive, then I would''ve immediately arranged for whoever said it to me to be carted away by the men in white coats and locked in a padded cell.I know we''re in a frustrating and scary position at the moment (it''s possible that we could actually be in the bottom 3 when we kick off next Saturday against Forest, in front of the dreaded Sky cameras!), but if we can just cut out those stupid schoolboy errors, keep our concentration more and take more of those chances when they come along, then I''m confident that we''ll get the results to help push us up the table. As for Clingan, yes he didn''t have a particularly inspiring game yesterday, but overall he has been very effective and takes a good penalty too. I fail to see where fans have been talking on here as if he were Maradona and I read this forum quite regularly. One poor game does not make him a poor player - or a ''very, very average'' one. Me, ...I''ve got a big downer on Sammy at the moment...I think he is slowing attacking moves down, dithering and turning around in circles and playing weak sideways passes (call that ''holding'' if you want, but not in my book!), or slow and inaccurate forward passes which get intercepted 8 times out of 10. He hasn''t been tackling lately, its as if he has lost his bottle, he chases quickly to within three yards of the opposition and either backs off or tracks at that distance giving the attacker plenty of room to pass. I was excited by his play in the early week of the campaign, but since ''Derby away'' he really has been poor. I suspect, like Hoolahan, he suffers with the ''lack of confidence'' bug. Binky 0 Posted November 17, 2008 There are quality players who can lose form or lose motivation. Clingan, Bell, Hoolahan, Otsemobor and Drury I''d put in that category (though for me their form is no worse than anyone else''s and probably better than most). They shouldn''t need to be motivated given the wages they are on but if they lose just half a yard in determination their play will suffer. These the manager may drop as soon as they have a bad game when what they really need a run of games to find form. As a result form can be hard to regain. But they remain quality footballers. Yes, Clingan has had his off moments recently but overall he''s been pretty consistent and above the rest. Then there are very average players - or worse. These the manager may drop if they have a bad game - or in some cases, persevere and persevere until they have a decent game. But they are still very average players and IMO not in the same class as Clingan et al.
