Joanna Grey 0 Posted August 24, 2008 The commentator on ITV''s "The Championship";when fully fit Lupoli could be the deal of the seasonYou can see it now, big target man acquired, Lupoli knocking them in for fun, Fiorentina wont sell or they put a huge price tag on his head. If that happens we can''t blame GR, he did try to buy him.
Branston Pickle 4,145 Posted August 24, 2008 I did notice that comment. We will have to wait and see what happens, but Lupoli is clearly highly rated within the game and did take the chances rather well yesterday - it can only help to build his confidence; if only the same could be said for Curo (not wishing to turn this into an anti-Curo thread, but he does need a goal to get himself going and that pen was a fantastic chance). Hog 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Yeah that is always the problem when you loan in players, I wonder how much we could have bought Tiny, or even Ched for, before their loan spells with us!
pak mei 0 Posted August 24, 2008 thing is two seasons running he has managed to replace loanee''s with similar quality loan''s. Whats to say he can''t continue this
Rocky Rocastle 0 Posted August 24, 2008 I love it how quickly opinions on players change....Last week Lupoli was being called a waste of space, now after a decent 13 minutes apparantly he''s going to be knocking goals in for fun!!The same with Curo. In preseason he was fan''s number one player, now he''s getting bashed!!The joys of being a football fan....
YoungCanary 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Haha i agree Rocky, it''s the same with Matty Pattison, this time last week everyone was slating him, then after one good game everyone loves him!
ncfcstar 342 Posted August 24, 2008 I agree with your sentiments about Lupoli Rocky, but not Cureton, many people weren''t impressed with him last season, and have stuck with that opinion, I personally think he has been a waste of money. People say he only needs a chance, well last season he had plenty and missed them, then yesterday he got one put on a plate for him, and guess what missed. John 0 Posted August 24, 2008 If it does happen, and manages to be a big hit with the crowd at Carrow Road, people will probably point out the similarities between this and the Ched Evans and Martin Taylor situations last season, of which there should be a few. However there is one big difference between us trying to get Lupoli, and us trying to get Taylor or Evans, and that is that he doesn''t actually want to stay playing football in Italy, and he has stated on one or two occasions that he intends to leave Fiorenta for a club in England. If Lupoli is settled in at Carrow Road towards the end of the season, he''ll probably hand in a transfer request at Fiorenta, and considering his footballing record in Italy, and his desire for playing football in England, Fiorenta would probably be likely to accept, opening up a pathway for us to get him in on a permanent basis. But like most Norwich fans, it''s a worrying thought of what the price tag could be?...
AP16 0 Posted August 24, 2008
Haha i agree Rocky, it''s the same with Matty Pattison, this time last week everyone was slating him, then after one good game everyone loves him!
It happens on here a lot. In the middle of the Cardiff game some guy posted Delia, Roeder etc.. out, you''re all a waste of space blah blah blah....and at the final whistle was made to look a complete buffoon for his outburst. Although he did admit as such. It''s fine having opinions on players performances etc.. but can you really go into one about certain players that in essence have only just joined the club and we''ve seen very little of? I don''t think so. Cureton and Pattison etc.. on the other hand, fair enough. But you can''t slate the guy one week and kiss his arse the next. Away to Coventry, Lupoli was awesome considering he wasn''t fully fit and was able to beat players wonderfully, but he had a shaky one on his home debut and half of the people on here want to see the back of him already, some branding him ''useless''.It''s a funny old game footie, and you don''t half get some funny supporters. I really wish some people would give our boys a little longer to settle down to see what we''re really capable of. We''re pretty much a new side after Roeder has demolished the shambles that Grant created. For me the early signs have been good, we''re not half playing some good football, and we''ve created plenty of chances in all games to date. This is far more important that not creating any chances at all, a lá Grant. If we just get hold of someone capable of putting the ball in the net and lifting the other strikers confidence at the club, we''ll do well.

Expect to be called a board apologist by some numpty before too long!I have always felt we are only player (another striker) away from having a Top 8 side on our hands. There is excellent competition for places throughout the defence & midfield and one more decent striker will have us sorted.
HOCKEYMYHERO 0 Posted August 24, 2008 He gave interview on radio Norfolk after match on Saturday [spoke very good english] and seemed to say he had wasted the last few months in Italy and was only too pleased to be here , it sounded promising to me and i seem to remember we were after a permanent signing in the beginning ? Rocky Rocastle 0 Posted August 25, 2008 Either I''m sitting on something that is putting a smile on my face or this is developing into a semi-positive post! Can I just clarify this is a Norwich City post....Nah it can''t be there''s no player bashing or moaning about where we finished 17 years ago....
