Dean Coneys boots 1,531 Posted August 9, 2008 who could have predicted the latest skY quote. Norwich playing well but no-one to convert the chances. Unless we sign TWO attackers that will be repeated many times I feel. As I stated- we lack teeth and that is THE most crucial aspect of a team

nutty nigel 7,902 Posted August 10, 2008 Now Vic.. I rather suspect your sermons are repetitive, quite possibly they are the same every week which probably means your church, like your glass, is always half empty.

It''s always "tomorrow" and when "tomorrow" comes....it''ll be "tomorrow" once again.Today will never come under this shower....but tomorrow surely will. pak mei 0 Posted August 10, 2008 it was always a priority but financially and logistically the most difficult piece of the jigsaw to complete

why do you keep posting this we all know that glen has this in hand but has been delayed, we all know this person is on his way
Totally agree, there are some on here who can''t get it into their thick heads that GR is very close to bringing this guy in, he stated this only yesterday I believe.
He may well have done, I think he''s been saying it for quite a while now!Still doesnt explain why it wasnt a priority instead of signing an endless stream of midfielders.
Hoolahan? Youlahan! 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Why is lacking teeth a crucial aspect? Iwan Roberts lacked teeth, did he not score enough goals for your liking Vic?

Vic suggests we need TWO strikers, you respond by telling him he''s thick because we''ve been promised ONE striker ergo the matter is in hand.So back to the Vicars post, let''s accept we are going to get one striker very shortly do you think one is enough or should we be looking for a second?Personally I think the plan is one now and pending a half decent attempt on the Championship another to follow in January. Lupoli + Unknown as first choices with options from JC and OJ gives us a chance to adapt to conditions for now but I feel the scales would be truly tipped in our favour with the addition of two established goalscorers. A big ask I know but it would be too much pressure for the Board to bear if come Christmas we find ourselves in or around the top ten but still with the inability to convert chances. Joanna Grey 0 Posted August 10, 2008 GR has stated that he is bringing in one more striker and a utility midfield player. He has never mentioned two new strikers. If our "big man" keeps injury-free all season then we do not need another striker. I love the way that some keep moving the goalposts "just in case"..... can u sit down please 0 Posted August 10, 2008 Change the record FFS Vic! Roeder has said he could have bought an average player everyday. But he has chosen not too. Would you rather have had Steve Howard line up for us yesterday or wait one game and have a decent man?As Glenn Is looking for "in betweenies" we are waiting on PL clubs to bring players in and as we know nothing much is happening really is it!Be patient and the quality man will come. But if you want Steve Howard.................
Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted August 10, 2008 According to the reports I have read (various sources) Roeder has said he is signing a striker so the 3 already here will be fighting for 1 spot. That kills 2 with 1 for me, its a little kick up the arse for those already here, and it indicates that whoever is coming will be a bit tasty. But I agree a goalscorer is a must, not only will we get the goals we so desperately need but it gives all other areas a lift. The defenders will be more confident knowing that 1 mistake doesnt mean game over, midfielders will play harder knowing there is someone up there who can put an end product on their craftsmanship, opposition sides will be reluctant to throw caution to the wind. A new, very good striker is an absolute must.I liked the fact that Chris Coleman said that his side was lucky as Norwich passed the ball and moved much better. News of the world said our passing was slick. Promising comments for the optimists among us.

Joanna Grey 0 Posted August 10, 2008 I think the more interesting thing about the whole striker issue is who will partner the new man up front? Seems like our next two matches (hopefully one match) will decide it, puts pressure on Cureton and Lupoli in my book as OJ seems to get a guaranteed place on the bench.
