Shaker 0 Posted February 3, 2008 This is a bloody wind up right???? i''d be well happy if we had another ten of him on the pitch. The mans a LEGEND
Paul Spector 0 Posted February 4, 2008
This is a bloody wind up right???? i''d be well happy if we had another ten of him on the pitch. The mans a LEGEND
Agreed. I''d happily send 11 Dion''s out each week. He''s never going to be as quick as his younger days, but his quality, commitment and leadership is obvious. Gingerpele 0 Posted February 4, 2008 no his quality has gone down recently, im not talking about pace, i love dion, and if he played with the sam quality i would lve him to stay, but he really wasnt up to scratch
Syteanric 1 Posted February 4, 2008
This is a bloody wind up right???? i''d be well happy if we had another ten of him on the pitch. The mans a LEGEND
i wouldnt.. because that means 1 of them is in goal!jas :)

Stevie Wonder 0 Posted February 4, 2008 I''d have to agree that as a player he doesn''t necessarily justify a place in the team. However, his influence as a leader is such that we really do need him on the pitch as much as possible. He just never stops encouraging and talking to his team mates. I think he is a better centre half than he is centre forward now. Mind you, all his goals have come away from home so perhaps he plays really well up front in away games!! Gingerpele 0 Posted February 4, 2008 stevie that would workjust too make it clear Dublin is a legend, but watching him he is not as good as he was, he still leads well, but he just lacks that edge,in the last 5 games when has he done a little back heal, earlier in the season he did them at any oppurtunity, now he stays away, poor old Dubs, legend though he is. :D
NCFC_Shaun 0 Posted February 4, 2008 this is ridiculous. ok against preston he was not showing the class he has totally... but he wasn''t exactly poor, and this is one game! nobody plays their best every game especially at 38.
missing in action? 0 Posted February 5, 2008 you talk some shi* sonnydublin can do FA in a match and setup a goal.he is a huge influence when on the pitchhis organisationstrength (Centre backs double up on him) giving us room.defensive strengthknowledge.CASE RESTED

Gingerpele 0 Posted February 5, 2008
you are implying it.you are implying that he isnt as valuable as we thoughttruth be toldHE IS
fine if hes in defence, if hes the leader make him captain, he is not The best player on the pitch any more, he is still goodjust not quite up to his past from, you cant expect him to be, Colchester didnt get sheringham expecting him to score every game did they? missing in action? 0 Posted February 6, 2008 yes we could make dublin the captain, a short term fix.but i think that would be unfair on him and hinder him during the match.and oknot the best player, who is???AND YOU SIGN A STRIKER COS YOU EXPECT THEM TO BLOODY SCORE!!!!!!!!! MPR 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Or, if they''re not going to score, to do a decent job of holding/flicking on. I think it was DD''s header on that set up Rusty on Saturday. He''d looked a little tired up ''til then but still had one decent run tracking back after an attacker.DD will go down as a legend, it would be good to have him carry on in some capacity around the club after but if not, he can concentrate more on Ready Steady Cook where I think he''s great

Buncey 1 Posted February 6, 2008 Considering he was excellent against Soton and Leicster (two of the best performances he has produced during his time at CR) then I think this thread is a bit silly.

O.T.B.C 1 Posted February 6, 2008 I don''t think he looked overly sharpe, but then you would expect that with his age. As for making Dubs captain, whats the point? You don''t need to give Dubs a band round his arm to make him a captain, he does enough as it is. Off topic, I can recall my utter disgust at getting him here, yes, disgust was the word I used. I thought we had been sold a right dummy, a man who was far too old for this division, even Leicester did not want him. Hell what did I, infact, what do I know. Been a fantastic servant in every way possible. I do think in general, the football world do treat over 30''s with a lot of contempt, things are changing a little now, you look at the likes of Dubs, Sheri, Hull player who''s name has slipped me. There are a lot of players now, who look after there selfs and continue.Don''t know how Dubs would get on next season thou, but would love him to stay. MPR 0 Posted February 7, 2008 Morning all,Comments re Ready Steady Cook meant purely in jest, thankfully taken as such by most!I freely admit when we signed him I thought "If he''s the answer, what the hell is the question?" but he shows how the game should be played and has been a 100% bona fide star. He''s been clattered a lot of the time but picks himself up and gets on with it, no rolling around on the floor for him.He is, as Ferguson once described (part of) him "magnificent".
