a1canary 0 Posted October 31, 2007 He''s only been here 5 minutes, doesn''t owe the club particularly and has no allegiances to the club. So to leave with such good grace and good words for the club, even when feeling pretty bad at having been sent on his way, says a lot about the man. I hope he finds something else in the game to move on to.
Old Boy 0 Posted October 31, 2007 I agree. Both he and Grant worked very hard, but lack of experience and bad luck with injuries to important players and the loss of staff (particularly when Duffy picked up the baton) did for them both. That, and I feel the general lethary at the Club (did I read that Gunny did a Talksport interview from Tenerife, while he was Duffy''s last man standing and we were really up against it?). It''s strange how people aren''t valued until they leave the Club - Hunter came in for fearful abuse on here from the usual suspects, until he left for Watford, and now he''s a great coach. But in any case both Grant and Duffy had team and formation affected by injuries (or did you not realise we''ve had Huckerby, Dublin, Drury, Doherty, Brellier, Fotheringham and Cureton all with significant injuries so far? You should try to keep up with things like that - it shows an interest in the Club). So, like it or not, they''ve been unlucky. Jim Duffy has had shedloads of experience in taking teams down!! Your ignorance in ignoring Duffy''s appalling previous record and Grants utter baboonery as manager is pathetic. Even he realised he wasn''t up to the task. Bottom of the league by 5 points!!! What a joke this club is becoming. As for Hunter, Im not surprised he left, he probably couldnt beleive the total muppets he was working with. Not that his previous record in club coaching and management is anything to shout about. He tried to implement many of the ideas learned at the FA here, such as his 4-3-3/4-5-1 and zonal marking. They failed. Maybe he has learned from the experience.

How ridiculous. The man left his job in Scotland, probably moving his family with him, to come here to help the club, to be a part of taking it forward, and to do a job he loved doing. Now after a very short space of time, he has been sacked after doing very little wrong. I expect someone of your life experience to show him some respect and dignity as he did to us. Yet ''good riddance'' is all you can say. You bring new meaning to the term "grumpy old man." Why not try breaking the mould from time to time (as you did do not so long ago when you were far more pleasant) rather than falling back on your tiresome self-made charicature? Mook 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I wouldn''t want you to thank them Wiz, as they were total disasters here, the both of them. I just think their nationality is entirely irrelevant, particularly at this moment when the Scots look like being the sole representative of the UK in the upcoming European Championships. It''s refreshing to see a poster on here without a selective memory of the past. I also remember the disgraceful zigger zagger chants against Watling in the 60''s which were far far louder than those muffled Smith out chants of today.
