yellow blood 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Just shows how good our supporters are compared to Southampton...http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=8855 Only sold 500 tickets!!
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted August 13, 2007 To be fair to them, it was a cup game against a lower division team, on a Monday night and it was also televised. I''d imagine they''ll bring a few more on Saturday (and didn''t we take similar numbers to our Carling Cup games last year?).

I assumed it was about their match last night.... sorry, it was late.Yeah that''s very poor actually, for a club that got to the play-offs last season you''d expect probably about 1,000 more. Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted August 14, 2007 If the Saints have only sold 500 tickets it looks as though we could fall well short of a sell out on Saturday. I was hoping for a crowd of over 25,000 to generate a good noisy atmosphere. With any luck the attendance should still exceed 24,000, a bit better than the binners managed last Saturday. Tumbleweed 106 Posted August 14, 2007 The article on the link states that we gave them 2330 tickets of which they have sold 500 and we have requested the return of 1000 tickets leaving 800 or so left. So assuming a capacity of 26000 less 800 unfilled away spaces means we should still get to 24000 easily and if the turnout is high (95% or so) then possibly nudging 25000. Note that this is what Middlesboro got on Saturday, a club established in the Prem with a recent UEFA cup run and some star signings. I wonder what attendances we would generate in the same circumstances????????
Syteanric 1 Posted August 14, 2007 we charge away fans £29 a ticket! im not suprised they havent sold any! add to that the cost of travel.... still, theres always the hotel... walk in, stand in the corridor, watch, go out.... all free! as if they know the faces of everyone with a reservation.jas :)
Carrow89 186 Posted August 14, 2007 Must confess to getting a freebie at St Mary''s last season. Approached in the queue by some woman who thought I looked like a City fan !Most entertaining part of the day was the shirtless City fan being ejected. Never quite sure why clinging onto a piece of the ground with both hands is going to persuade around ten stewards to change their mind. I think it was that he had been smoking in the ground rather than that he was a pee''ed as a parrot. Was impressed with Gareth Bale. Unknowing ability to collapse in and around the penalty box. Would give the tahn''s falling spaniard a run for his money.

Another nail in the coffin of the ridiculous "little Norwich" myth.

For a long time you used to see lots of stickers on cars etc saying "A Saints fan is for life, not just for the Premiership".

You know that there are 2600000000000000000 fans who want Delia out and hate the team.

Mr.Carrow 394 Posted August 14, 2007 At last? I think you`ll find "in the same circumstances" includes M`boroughs 33,000-odd capacity. Its obviously just speculation but it makes you think doesn`t it? "Little Norwich"? Yeah right.............
blacko 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Does anyone know what happens re away tickets? If we give them loads and they send back 1000 but hang on to another 800 which they subsequently do not sell, do they have to pay for them or are thay allowed a certain allocation regardless of wheter they are sold or not?Rumour was when we played chelski the first time recently we were told we could only have a larger allocation of tickets if we paid for them regardless of wheter they were sold or not. So we bottled it and onlt took a small allocation.
Mr.Carrow 394 Posted August 15, 2007 We had the biggest crowd by a mile out of 32 cup games yesterday. Says it all really.
Barclay_Boy 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Sorry biggleyellow , to a certain extent you are missing the point, for example I am a very positive City fan, however I would be only too happy to get rid of the current board if someone came along with some real cash. If we really want to nail the little Norwich myth then the board needs to think bigger and have a lot more ambition. That doesn''t mean being stupid ala Leeds Utd. We should be shouting from the rooftops that this could be a big club, certainly bigger than medicore clubs like Middlesborough or Southampton. How about a concerted campaign by as many City fans as poss to either phone or text TalkSport every Saturday evening, bombard them with info about how every games a sellout, size of the away following and stuff like the clubs ripe for investment etc etc. I don''t think anyone on here actually hates the team, but people show their frustrations in different ways, I genuinely believe the board and Doomcaster would be happy with a mid table position this year, but it ain''t anywhere near good enough for me, especially when a couple more quality players could be the difference between going up or not.OTBC and bring on the Saints!
