San Miguel 0 Posted March 20, 2007 I heard someone saying that Dean Ashton was back at Norwich to see us beat Birmingham last week - I thought fair enough, and not much else.On Saturday I saw him for myself in his pimped up car with some bird in the front. The fact that he has come to 2 games in a row makes it worthwhile knowing. He probably just has friends or family or has come back for a week to meet the lads. However, my imagination says what if its something else? What if West Ham want to loan him off when he starts training again to get him back to match fitness? Be nice wouldn''t it!Can''t really see anything happening, after all the season is almost over and we''ll be playing West Ham next yr!!
mbncfc 1 Posted March 20, 2007 This is of course presuming he ever plays again... [:O]Last thing I heard on the radio down here was that West Ham are sending him to two independent specialists to work out why he is struggling to get the strength back into his ankle. He has been out a lot longer than was originally stated already.
blacko 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Presumeably how much we get paid by West Ham depends on appearances etc, anyone know?
Meeky 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Shouldn''t read too much into it. His girlfriend used to be a hostess in Mercy, so she has probably got friends and family here. As a matter of fact he was in Mercy VIP on Saturday night, probably just came back for a week as he''s injured and for her to come and see her friends etc.

Not sure about anything else but hopefully!

South Norfolk Old Boy 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Since his injury Dean Ashton has often been at Carrow Road. Sometimes he is on his own, sometimes he is with his partner. He sits just just behind me and my daughter. Several current but injued players and visiting ex-players sit in this block of seats and it is often interesting just to do some "player spotting" before the game. It is also an area popular with WAGs. They are even easier to spot. They are wearing very few clothes even in mid winter, jeans two sizes too small for their size 6 bottoms, short furry jackets and pink caps. They are also unsually and alarmingly orange in skin colour, a fact that is accentuated by the wearing of sun glasses as a sign to the rest of us that we should recognise them! mbncfc 1 Posted March 21, 2007 Ashton''s not going to play again this season... just been confirmed. Will he still be at West Ham in the summer? He may play for them at the start of the season, but I can''t see him seeing through the end of that transfer window with them...
Rupethebear 0 Posted March 21, 2007 Not sure why we are all so happy that he is still injured, if he had been fit all season, scored lots of goals he may have played for England and be on the verge of a big money move with West Ham going down. Think of the cash we could have earnt by his success!
Stone Cold 0 Posted March 22, 2007 I really dont know why there is some nastiness towards Ashton , Much as I understand the frustration of losing a really good player a year after signing him and maybe last year his attitude wasn''t that special but try to think back to the premiership we would have been bottom and not even had a sniff of survival had it not been for Ashton. You cannot blame a player for being ambitious as its a short career and the fact he''s been seen at recent games speaks volumes for the lad , The thing people must remember is that we are fans we are loyal to the club and we care about the club these footballers are professionals it is their job and much as I''l get slated for saying this who wouldnt leave for any other job on more money with better prospects , hardly makes you a judas does it !People gloating at Ashtons current injury are typical examples of people who actually know very little about how professioanl football works and are probaly jealous of the lad , Grow up !!!!!! However, Ashton''s attitude stank, 2 seperate issues, don''t assume that because I think he''s an arrogant, lazy tosser that I''m glad hes injured. How about you grow up? At least enough to be able to read posts properly.
Stone Cold 0 Posted March 22, 2007 Herb you are correct I re read the thread and nobody was mocking his injury my baby was crying when I first read it and I got distracted so I apologise for that. Can''t agree with your comments on Ashton but thats your opinion and I have mine but thats what makes debates so good , However let it not ever be said i''m not man enough to apologise when i''m wrong on something !!!
