a1canary 0 Posted November 27, 2006 A word of warning to the Pinkun - this is a slippery slope, quoting message board posters! You don''t know these people like the regular posters do. Do they know for instance, and will they quote, what the Worst Warlock was saying barely a month ago? Here''s an example, under the heading, "Should I kill the Wizard?":"I''ve been thinking about this since Worthy was sacked. The 1st wizard was all about being anti everthing, and he''s no longer any fun for me to do.Everything is ultra positive at City these days, and I just love that.I was wrong it would seem regarding Grant''s appointment, and hopefully Delia has got it spot on, well done Delia. The cracking atmosphere, and new found supporter unity is what being a City fan is all about, and old ''pointy head'' doesn''t figure in that, in my books."For the full post, see: http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/778310/ShowPost.aspxNow Grant is a puppet, Delia is public enemy number one, and it''s back to being anti everything. What will it be next month? Personally i wouldn''t want to see the Wizard change for the world because ienjoy a good laugh but please, Pink''un, you can''t use this schizophrenic as a reliable barometer of fan feeling - he represents the extreme, not the mainstream! Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Wiz also has a fair bit of coverage in the Evening News and the EDP today - along with quotes from other message board users. As I read the great man''s musings in those papers I also thought: "I wonder if these papers realise that the Wizard''s opinions change more often than most people change their underwear?" First Wizard 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Oh yes, call me fickle if you like, but Grant, the club and us fans can all change their minds too. I was only reacting to PG''s after match comments.I can''t help it if the local media find that news worthy, and I''m chuffed if people want to ''trawl'' back through my quotes. Yes, I can change my views, but at least I''m not stuck in them!.[;)]
jetstream 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I think the more interesting point is that under the Chris Lakey Q&A you are not allowed to use your "screen name" but the EDP then goes and quotes messageboard users by those very names in the centre pages of the "Yellow & Green" pull out.Why the anonymity on one hand and not on the other?Surely those quotes (for or against) carry less weight in an actual newspaper if they are simply by "bread1" or "chocolate nutter".Anonymity on a messageboard is fine because the user can be challenged - bit trickier in a newspaper where people take the veracity of an opinion expressed as read. Norwich R Us 59 Posted November 27, 2006 i just now wrote this on another forum.."Fans are angry their loyalty and commitment hasbeen called into question. Writing on the Pink Un message board, 1stWizard said:"“Delia''s puppet has done the unforgivable; 24,000 fans deservebetter. It is time for our pathetic board to stand down and let someoneelse with real balls take over.“Grant, today you have lost me as a fan, not of the club, that''sfor life, but you have no place at Carrow Road in my opinion. So pleasecrawl back to West Ham, we don''t need a manager who uses us as anexcuse for HIS own failings. Worthy did that, and look what happened tohim. The sooner your puppet strings are cut, the better!”its made me so angry how such a moronic post has now reached such alarge audience, its so sensationally short sighted the editors probablypayed for the bloody privilege! i for one am getting sick of readingyour hurricane like views and witch hunt opinions, surely you havesomething better to do than than shit stir ill feeling on every ncfcmessage board going? its fans like you that have created the exam like atmosphere thats madegrant so frustrated anyway! I for one am glad someone has finally grownthe balls to challenge this "poor us" attitude among many fans as itsgoing to get the club absolutely nowhere, I mean, is it any wonder thatno one decent wants to play for us when our support is so bloodypetulant?! forgive the pun, but a magic wand isn''t going to suddenly solve ourproblems 1stwizard... you seriously need to get back to the real worldpal. I''d like it to use forum names. On the Q&A page there some text saying that you can change your name details registered with the rest of our membership system.
Note that your registered first and last names will be used, not any messageboard username/nickname. Click here ifyou wish to amend the details that will be used.
Only problem is that if you try to order some holiday brochures, they would then get sent using the name you changed the First and Surnames too... yes, I know.... [sigh]Looking at the text, I suppose the first part could be made to sound less like an order.

Surely a sign of someone not ''so far up his own bottom'' that he will stand by a ludicrous point rather than be proved wrong!Well done Wiz.....you''re a star!.........................[*]
YankeeCanary 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Unless you have been operating under another name Cluck your tenure on this board is only a couple of months. Possibly you have been observing for a longer period but, if not, my view is that an assessment of 1st Wizard over some considerable time is that such frequency of change in his opinion is not as a result of an open mind but rather an empty one. Wizard''s frequent change of views ( back and forth ) over short time periods shows a distinct inability to think things through in a measured way in the first instance. Being open minded is good but if one has reached a point of view based upon well thought out views then it should take some reasonable level of persuasion for that view to be changed. Not the case with Wizard I''m afraid. Having said that, he is a star on this message board to some and his posts will always draw some level of interchange. a1canary 0 Posted November 28, 2006 People might be able to accept that if he did it once or twice, which is how things may appear to you cluck havinf only been on here a short while. But the wizard does it all the time - he has performed more u-turns in the life time of this board than a John Major government. After a while, you just lose respect. Just makes me laugh nowadays... Herb 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Notice the Pink''un did themselves no favours in terms of fair and objective reporting.Myself and a good few others have commented that while Grant''s choice of words was somewhat ill-advised, the point he made was a bloody good one. No mention of that either in the Pink''un or the other various Ardent rags. The atmosphere on Saturday was rubbish, and not befitting of Carrow Road. Anyone thinks it was should stay away in my opinion, we really don''t need you.Give your ticket up to someone who''s prepared to do their bit, because on Saturday not enough were... being a supporter isn''t conditional, spare me your bleeding heart stories about paying £400 for a season ticket. Pull your weight, or sod off and let someone who will take your place.Thanks.

Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Herb, I’ve been a season ticket holder in the Barclay for a decade & a regular visitor since 1984, so I consider myself a loyal supporter. I sing my heart out every time I watch Norwich play home & away. However, Saturday was a real struggle to muster the effort to make any bloody noise! We’d just played as poorly against the scum as I ever remember & were terrible again against Hull. Add the fact (first five games aside) we’ve been mediocre at best all season (even in victory) what do people expect. Surely the side playing on the pitch need to give us something to shout about? Nothing I say here has any relevance....and it is just a personal view. I like to read the Wiz because it stimulates alot of discussion and he picks up on topical points and airs them. We all swing this way and that at times.....but the Wiz does it with style.... He''s a class act and sometimes brings things into the open that need to be discussed. I rarely disagree with where he is coming from....and in all fairness....you can''t question his passion can you?
