dylanisabaddog 6,143 Posted February 9 (edited) I think the team picks itself, although I think this is the first time we'll have seen this starting 11. Correct me if I'm wrong. Gunn Stacey Hanley Gibson Dimi Nunez Kenny Rowe Sara Sainz Sargent A comfortable 3-0 victory. Edited February 9 by dylanisabaddog
Robert N. LiM 6,282 Posted February 9 Is Rowe fit? Great news if true. I'd swap Sara and Nunez in your line up, but agree with the XI, pretty clearly our best team. Doubt we'll win 3-0, though. Their new coach (Cifuentes?) has tightened them up considerably at the back and I think it'll be a tighter game than many are expecting, or their league position suggests. Any type of win would do me.
cambridgeshire canary 7,798 Posted February 9 (edited) I don't think it will be a 3-0 win, I think it will be a lot more difficult than some think. Qpr may be near the bottom of the table but they have had some good results and are on a high and full of confidence with their new manager making them a lot more solid. BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted February 9 Another important game. All games have become important now, and that's a good thing, imo, as there was surely a time in the season when many of us had written our chances of avoiding mid-table mediocrity as minimal with an unexciting run in. Even selection has become less of a lottery, and "tinkermanism" need be no more. I suppose a couple of selections could be under scrutiny. Does he play two strikers up front and discard Nunez? If so, should the other one be the Donk, with Barnes coming on as last week? No other selection problems, surely? Hanley fits in nicely and at the operative time, and I personally might prefer Sam to Dimi starting, but the former as a sub worked well last week. Rowe, Sargent, Saintz and a slightly jaded Sara should see this lot off, whilst the defence seems to have become more secure than often this season.

jaberry2 769 Posted February 9 Nice to know their full back is their top scorer. Will be a tight game nonetheless. A win of any sorts will do.
Yellow Fever 4,415 Posted February 9 I think w'll see Barnes with Sargent. Coventry and indeed Leeds should have taught us something?

It depends how Wagner wants to arrange them and how fit Hanley is. I wouldn't rule out Kenny at CB so Barnes can play as a 10. I think the game will be much tighter than 0-3 and that Hanley/Gibson combo does worry me.

I think it will be Barnes and Sarge, with Syd coming on as a sub.
Northluck C 30 Posted February 9 The referee tomorrow is the amusingly-named Ben Toner who takes charge of an NCFC game for the first time. Apparently he was once replaced as referee ahead of a game at Blackpool as it was deemed inappropriate he take charge of a game at a club who (at the time) had a notoriously ‘bent owner’!
HazzaJet 267 Posted February 9 QPR hoping to take advantage of our “recent run of travel sickness”. Yes we’ve lost 3 of our last 4 away fixtures, but it wasn’t a bad performance against Leeds and when we lost to West Brom and Millwall Sargent had only just returned from injury. Even so, I don’t think it’ll be an easy game, as QPR have also done quite well recently

Some of the reports on the story say that he was replaced because of his name while others say it was because the EFL wanted a more experienced referee as it was the first game after the Oystons had lost their court case and had put the club up for sale.
