VAR at it again….

Would be very curious to hear the audio after this moment, leading up to Spurs scoring a few mins later.

Probably 5 minutes of swearing and crying...

Darren England is at fault. Once the lines are drawn, he rushes the communication to the ref. Just needed 5-10 seconds of calm but easier said than done when under pressure to get these things done quickly.

Never wanted VAR personally but there's no going back now. Should use VAR automation for off-sides and human intervention for mistaken identities but then leave the rest alone. All other decisions are subjective anyway.

Klopp asking that the game gets replayed, this could get interesting!

Nice one Klopp... I'm sure Liverpool have never benefited from incorrect VAR decisions...

Does this means that practically every match ever played should be replayed as there will be clear errors in nearly every game.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 2009 Ireland v France game being replayed, potentially followed by having to replay the 2010 World Cup, if Ireland win on aggregate. Although the game might be a bit pedestrian if the same players are playing...

Or is he just suggesting VAR errors mean games have to be replayed?

In that case, how many EPL games this season alone need to be replayed for wrong decisions...

Also is this just errors by officials or can we include errors or cheating (diving/playacting) by players in this too?

Yes I am taking it to extremes, but this whole case is just getting stupid.

As has been said before, essentially it breaks down to "linesman raises flag to give offside, VAR intervenes and (incorrectly) agrees with the linesman", so no goal given.

Pre-VAR we would have the same outcome as now and would have stopped talking about it days ago.

Gary O’Neil didn’t whine like a baby about Wolves not getting a penalty at Old Trafford earlier this season and demanding a replay did he?

This is just the scousers playing the victims well yet again and Klopp behaving like a spoiled brat!

This shouldn't be difficult to correct.

In Rugby the Ref states the onfield decision publicly and asks the VAR if there is any reason to overturn it. In this case the onfield decision was not made clear to the VAR assistant and they were talking at cross purposes.

Exactly. If it was done in the same manner as the women's World Cup with the referree confirming the decision to the crowd there wouldn't have been a problem.

Football could learn a lot from rugby….

Stopping the clock when play has stopped is such an obvious solution. Time could still be added at the end for blatant time-wasting.

It would be clearer to supporters players and managers, rather than these seemingly arbitrary 8/9/10 minutes being added currently.

Trouble is even if he wasn't being entirely serious refs and the VAR will be under extreme pressure when officiating Liverpool matches. What's the likelihood they don't get a VAR decision go against them for the rest of the season?

True. I was slightly surprised the red card wasn't overturned, but I guess that would have been too blatent...

Apparently goal line technology just failed at Newcastle,  but VAR intervened to sort it. 2-0 to the Geordies
