cambridgeshire canary 7,798 Posted May 21, 2022 Cantwell is debatable mostly down nobody really wanting him and us not being able to sell him for a decent price, Hanley has said to have had offers and suiters from prem clubs and is our best defender so not sure what you're on about, Gibson can go you're right about that and Sargent will be a fantastic assist in the championship. With those accounted for, it just leaves Placheta, Hugill, Zimbo and Aarons. My gut feeling is that we are looking at loans for Placheta and Hugill if we don't want him. He's likely to be on decent wages and we'd also want a fee. The only way I think we could let him go is to offer him off cheap or to loan him again. I think it'll be his third season next season (I really need to look at wolfy's thread), so a loan would essentially be him leaving more or less. I think you can also add Josh Martin to that list. Not sure I can see him hanging around unless both Rowe and Springett are loaned out - which is also a possiblity. My gut instinct is Krul is also likely to leave. Just the way he responded to a question about his future when he is usually quite clear and succinct, he played it a bit vague. I do think there will be a couple of shocks, as there usually is within a transfer window. There are some players there that could yet still move on. Plenty of rumours of interest. Very injury prone and can’t see him making a first team appearance Hernandez - I know loads will disagree with me here as he is Championship quality, it’s just he’s only got one year left and we’ve got loads of younger wingers coming through Placheta - two years left and I don’t think he’ll get much game time. Either sell him or loan him out with option to buy Hugill - went to WBA with option to buy. Ok for Championship but one year left Soto - sent to Porto B with option to buy who sent him back early. One year left and can’t see him making a first team appearance Would offer Byram, McLean, Dowell, Cantwell, Martin and Sinani new contracts - all have one year left. Although if Huddersfield lose the playoff final I think they may activate the option to buy Sinani. If Cantwell doesn’t sign a new contract I would try to sell him though - may not be for much but I think it would be better to try to get something for him whilst we still can rather than let him go as a free agent next summer Would send Barden, Tomkinson and Kamara out on loan as I know they’re coming through the youth Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
