Well b back 3,605 Posted September 28, 2020 Whatever he says he will contradict by Christmas. Heres my predictions Mario must start Idah must start Pukki must play on the right wing Cantwell is not yet good enough so should go but then if he goes for 10s of millions he will say he was worth every penny. Yet he has a go at anyone who says the same about any other player. He will say Farke is great, then criticise his team selection for not playing Mario We will soon be back to playing Farke ball So a bit like any fortune teller he will tell us hundreds of things, then over the coming weeks knowing some of it will work out, he will tell us how he predicted the correct things, but deny he ever said the incorrect.

lake district canary 4,831 Posted September 28, 2020 Lecture about what?  I have nothing much to add to what I've seen already. That the transfer window is causing problems to the manager and players is no surprise. That VAR and the numpties running it is still contraversial is no surprise. Disappointed we lost yesterday, but no disgrace there - probably the best side we will play this season.  Onwards and hopefully upwards. đ

They took the cheap option in replacing Howe and have had a fire sale of their best players.

Probably because they still have players like Smith, Billing, King, Brooks, Lerma, Cook and more, some of whom have proven themselves at prem level for 2 or 3 seasons. Of course, they could still lose some of those.

They're a good side (maybe not the best we'll play this season, but definitely one of them), and we deserved something from the game even though we were missing our two most creative players. We can't afford many more 'well we played okay but lost' scenarios though, we absolutely must beat Derby on Saturday. It was a better performance than against Preston IMO, but we now need to weave together some performances and results to keep pace with the early pacesetters. Midlands Yellow 4,682 Posted September 28, 2020 Derby look woeful so far, there can be no excuses for a negative result against them.

They ripped out their squad and we shouldnât be losing to them.  Give it two weeks and weâll have our heart ripped out of the squad. I certainly doubt weâll be winning games like Bournemouth.

I don't think it's an absolutely must win game in the context of the league table at all. Far too early for any of that. What I would like to see is a continuation of the Bournemouth game in terms of keeping possession (from Krul upwards) but then we need to add more quality in the final third to start converting good possession into good chances. Whether that means a win, draw or defeat - I honestly would not be extremely worried at this stage. The performance can be great but sometimes the result is not so. Football can be and often is unfair (it is why it's a great sport), but as long as we continue to see strong positive signs the results will eventually follow IMO. However in the context of 'must win' in order to prevent further pant wetting on this board, that's a different story. It's an absolute 6 pointer!

I mean, we all know that last time we won the title we had 4 points from our first 5 games, so it's not 'must win' in terms of being able to compete for promotion. I just feel it's 'must win' to stop the discontent from growing after the awful end to last season. The transfer window finally closes the day before the Rotherham match, so at least by that point all the lingering uncertainty around transfers will have been cleared up and we'll know what we're working with. HazzaJet 267 Posted September 28, 2020 As others have said, I donât think Derby is a âmust winâ game when you compare how many points currently separate the teams in the top two and bottom three and how many are still available. I do think the outcome of our next four fixtures might be a talking point. Although three of them are after the international break and after the transfer window closes, so weâll have to see who we still have left in the squad and how our players come back from international duty. 2 of them though are against newly promoted sides, 2 against sides that have lost all 3 of their opening fixtures, currently hold the joint most goals conceded with 1 scoring just once and the other none, and 3 of them at home. However, I do believe we stand a good chance of picking up 10pts from these fixtures. What would the critics say if by chance we picked up all 12? âOh they were just easy fixturesâ. No fixture is âeasyâ as no team is ever guaranteed victory in any game, they just look easy because of the oppositionâs form. I mean Man Cityâs trip to Carrow Road last season, that was always going to be an âeasyâ fixture for them wasnât it as they were the reigning PL champions and we were just a newly promoted side? Iâm sure loads of Man City fans thought it would be easy but if you interview their players Iâm sure theyâll say we gave them a very hard time. Iâm afraid you just have to wait and see what the outcome of a game is as you donât know how a team will do until after theyâve played. Iâm not saying that we will win our next four games, but Iâm also not saying we wonât lose all four of them either.
