The Arrogance of Delia Smith
Rudolph Hucker replied to First Wizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Delia Smith is simply very loyal to her friends. That''s why we got Rioch then Hamilton, the godawful Bruce Oldfield strip and now indecision. -
A number of the players. Some of the board and management. It depends how you define the Club. For me a Club is it''s title, civic position, supporters and history. Of course I support the club. The other options are only temporary.

Worthy falls out with Saf
Rudolph Hucker replied to 0peteddMMyyyy0Falseen-USTrue's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Isn''t it clear now that the ''fatigue'' story in the media was a snipe. This is not typical of Worthy who has generally kept criticism in house. This is the same Safri who came off at Fulham removing a large leg strapping when we were only 1-0 down and who has played this season when obviously not fully recovered from fitness. His only crime has been to be our most irreplaceable player. -

On further reflection, with his rolling contract would Worthy be out of pocket if he went of his own volition or without a previously agreed settlement? -
I thought Worthington had lost it when he put Malky on the transfer list a week before the Prem season started. We''ve had no real leader on the field since then and we''ve shown it. I''ve been behind him since but now I can''t see any future in him staying.
If you had to trace it back then this is as good a starting point as any. -
We would need to bring in a manager who could encourage certain players to come to the club. Experienced managers always seem to have a group of such players who will come in for him. For a new manager there is every opportunity to quickly form a team of their own due to the amount of loan players, players coming to the end of their contracts and players likely to be sold.
It''s difficult to get an accurate picture from the commentary but I have supported Worthy while I have felt he was showing fight and resolve. Today, he appeared to be sat on the bench with a disconsolate team he couldn''t rouse at half time. He will have to say something pretty impressive in interview now to convince me he has still got it in him.
Credit for doing an interview but he sounded flat and beaten. I think Worthy has learned to pick his words carefully in these interviews so will sound ponderous and hesitant anyway but there doesn''t seem to be a plan in his head to change things. The players surely can''t support or fear/respect him. This is like the boxing champion who goes on too long and taints his reputation. I do not want to see my club pulling itself apart and have backed the management to show solidarity in a relegation battle but there is no room for too much sentimentality in football and objective decisions are required for the overall wellbeing of the club. Changes to playing staff have been made and little has changed as a result. I thought we had hit the necessary low point and were moving on. Sadly, Millwall away was clearly not that point. I don''t support Norwich to see them win cups every year; success is measured in different terms and is no less satisfying. As a bottom line I expect to see the Club doing the best it can with the resources at it''s disposal and it is here where we are failing. Sorry Nigel, but I feel it is time for you to exit the stage; too many of your players have been disingenuous. It would be best if things did not drag on too long. -

It really wouldn''t surprise me if Worthy ''offered'' his resignation to the board. If they are friends then he wouldn''t want to push them into a difficult situation, if they decline then it shifts the heat off him. -

A fan has called Canary Call and said Delia was in the crowd today. I wonder how significant this is? -
It is now all about avoiding relegation whilst maximising our assets in January and stabilising the club.

I am afraid this has become very serious.

Did anyone else see a comment by John Fashanu at the start of the season where he said Worthy would be out by Christmas because his luck had run out. I was surprised when I read that at the time; now it seems quite possible. I wonder what fashanu knew? There has been a malaise all season and this was an insiders view. -

Worthy is sat in the dugout! The Derby manager got sent off for showing too much passion. -

Has anyone ever heard Adams sounding this disconsolate before? If it stays like this Canary Call will be interesting, he sounds in no mood to defend anyone. -

Apparently Inigo Idiakez is a 32 year old Spaniard. If he was playing for us he would have been kicked out of the game before now. -

If this is a message to the club then at least it only affects our rivals coffers while making a point. -

Allied to that Making Plans managers look at Huckerby, fancy him in their team thinking they can adapt his game, then find they cannot, he cannot change, cannot adapt and he ends up as a spare part. Why, for example does Huckerby not run from deep or keep on the move like Henry does so his markers have to move too. He should be playing ''in the hole'' but I think his football is 90% instinct and 10% intelligence.
