See: https://theathletic.com/1637086/2020/02/27/daniel-farke-points-per-start-buendia-norwich/?source=ukdailyemail A modest criticism of Farke using 'points-per-game-started' which, in extremis, would see Lovren favoured over VVD. Couple of quotes: Norwich are very much in a relegation scrap right now, and need as much firepower as they can muster. Farke acknowledges Buendia’s creativity in his comments when talking about his number of assists (seven) — but fails to realise how important that level of assist creation is. In recent games, Lukas Rupp has gone on to create 1.1 chances per 90 from the right hand side. Buendia has been averaging more than three times that — 3.4 per 90. and Despite turning the ball over more than any other Norwich City player, Buendia is an elite chance creator and ball progressor for his side. His points-per-start may not get him picked, but his suitability for the role and creative output this season should do, and there’s no doubt that plenty of sides across Europe are thinking the same. I'm agnostic about the use and abuse of stats but the second quote alludes to significant interest in Buendia which bodes well for his potential transfer value should he wish to leave or we seek to sell.

Thank you for the kind words NN and the overly generous label of draw expert. I'm travelling over for the game tomorrow so will need to submit my selection early - so do get your entries in as soon as you can please. Good luck Pockthorpe - the best I can do for our game is 2-2 (currently 12/1). Best of luck everyone else.

Time to stop moping about and just enjoy the ride

I hope you are right and I am being unduly pessimistic. That 6-0 still hurts though. -

The only way you could enjoy the ride at Wolverhampton was to go there in the expectation of losing 4-0 or worse. At the start of the season it was being stated that it was a positive that most of the squad hadn't experienced relegation. Unless the squad changes significantly that won't be the case now. It is such a shame that the momentum from winning the Championship was drained out of the team with the significant injury problems in the early part of the season. Sheff Utd have shown how that momentum can help you out-perform expectations as long as it is retained. Once lost it can't be recovered in this league. -
You're right that Bill was unequivocal about his view of things and his opinions were often stated as facts. If and when these 'facts' don't occur then it may be difficult to come back, especially about Brexit even though that's only half done. Ironically, he seemed to fall out more with fellow anti-Brexiteers (ref Purple Canary). However it seemed to me that Bill had enough wit and intelligence to make light of that so I hope, genuinely, nothing amiss has happened. The last I remember him saying of his activities was that he was cycling in the New Forest. I hope he got home safely and is 'resting'. As LDC said, he was always very helpful with streams when one couldn't make the game (home or away).

Given your proximity to the game it's potential cancellation may not have been an issue to you. Would you have felt the same if it was a 400-mile round trip?

Thanks again. I have travelled over to Norfolk for several home games only to be waylaid for family reasons so I'm just looking forward to a clear run without mishap.

Actually I have been listening to an interview with Karen Pierce, the new UK Ambassador to the US, who said she joined the FO in 1981 and was involved in trade negotiations with Japan in her early years. The UK didn't cede trade negotiations responsibilities to the EU until later in our EU membership (I'm not sure when precisely). Much of the abdication of activities is overdone - the EU absolute control isn't as old as our EEC membership.

OK, so when did Man C call off the game? Was it close to kick-off or several hours in advance? I'd be leaving just before midday for a 5.30pm kick off (earlier than absolutely necessary to guarantee parking at County Hall). Btw, when are Man C planning to play their postponed game?

Joking aside, and for those of us that face a considerable journey to home games, is there really any chance that the game might be called off if winds are 50 mph?

VW -j ust tried it and there are tickets available (I can't make it though).

Did farke show to much faith in last year's players
wooster replied to Canary dwarf's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Stiepermann was my favourite player last year. He had a couple of relatively straightforward chances to score at Anfield in the opening game and if one of those had gone in I'm sure his performances this year would have been better. I certainly don't think too much faith was shown after his performances last year. -
It was only B u g g e r

****, I thought they'd get at least a draw at Forest (for the PuPs predictions), especially after two losses.

Either way I'm not sure there is much future in many car manufacturing jobs as we move from the internal combustion engine (ICE) to all-electric cars. "UBS reported that 58 percent of all German automotive manufacturing employment is dependent on ICE production."

A geordie friend is at the game and he texted that Newcastle look like the bottom club and the away team. -

Ah, so they didn't withdraw the veto they just reduced the areas where the veto was applicable.

Thought (Lisbon) allowed QMV after 2014 rather than national veto (Nice) other than for taxation issues. Genuine apologies if I'm wrong Herman.

And a very happy Brexit to you too VW. As is the tradition, I've inserted an euro coin into my Champagne cork in the hope that whilst it stays put we will remain outside the EU.
