1. Players who should just wear one irrespective of injury :- 1) Trevor Putney 2) Peter Beardsley (obvious I know, but had to put him in!) 3) John Wark 4) Eric Gates 5) Wayne Rooney 6) Edwin Van Der Saar 7) Ronaldinho Any more ???
2. No not any more Meeky, live in Thorpe now, close to the Mustard Pot pub (great pre and post match incidentally) but lived there from about 92 to 94. Otter used to be a great pub, hear it is not so good these days, but had some great nights in there. New Years Eve was always a good one, and that chinese near the Otter also used to be good, especially after a few beers. Quite a few players used to live on Marriott, including Sutch, Marshall, etc and Akinbiyi used to live close by, I actually looked at his house when I moved to Brundall in 94. Bit of an untidy gaff to be honest, he had loads of trainers piled up in a heap, and was a bit grump when we were looking round. Needless to say I did not buy it!!
3. If it was the New Years Eve game, I remember it very well. Marshall was absolutely class all game and he pretty much kept us in it. I also remember it well, because he was in the Otter Pub in Thorpe Marriot later on that very night, as was I, and I bought him a drink as a thank you for his great performance.
4. Not too keen on this, feel that the financial considerations are far outweighed by the emotional ones. What about the club shop? Would the displays be changeable depending on who is playing that week?
5.
I think we all know it''s a striker that is worthys main target and here are i feel realistic possibilities that would be good signings. Francis Jeffers - showed he can score at the start of the seas...
"If we could get any of them, I would chose Jeffers or Kuqi" Are you sure??????????
6. In focus or not, she is hot! "Dig Dag Doo" as Paddy would say. (This is Paddy from Max and Paddy, and not a racist "anti-irish" comment by the way!!!!)
7. Good to see that this post has been mentioned in the Evening News. Have a look at www.eveningnews24.co.uk for confirmation.
8. Lewis "supports" West Ham, he has been on their pitch before pre-match, think he grew up in Hackney or somewhere. As for Thaxton, great boxer, and more importantly nice bloke.
9. Sorry but there is no way we will get £8 million for Green in today''s market. I personally think that anything over £3m has to be given serious consideration, as somebody earlier on this thread mentioned. Re House Buying - We should not read too much into this. Where does his missus want to live with a view to her own career? Which footballer is not "investing" into property these days?
10. Good one! Anybody know any independent record labels? Record it and distribute free with the Christmas edition of Y''Army.
11. Overall, I feel a little short changed, but then hype is a marvellous thing. This "bust up" thing is so over egged as well, it is unbelievable. This sort of thing goes on everywhere on a regular basis, so to term it "bust-up" is a little strong I feel. At the end of the day though, I am glad he came here, and he is still the best corner taker
12. I think that a starting from the bench may give him a good kick start. As much as I love him, he sets himself such high standards, and although he is still our most dangerous players, he has looked a bit short of his usual excellence. Personally I think the reason for this is that he has changed his car. That soppy black german thing he has bought, is nowhere near as exciting as his Evo, and perhaps he is missing the buzz!
13. Good lord, what a debate! Norman Canary, great stuff. You are lost on here my friend, you need a regular column in the paper. Seriously, you should think about it. Just thought I would add that, and also send respect to the last poster for a great poster icon. Biggie Smalls, RIP. Hip Hop Legend.
14. On sunday''s game, not too much to worry about here in my opinion, apart from Melchiot marauding down the right hand side, and Huckerby getting caugh forward/Drury exposed, you all know the routine. Neither Blackburn or Birmingham could offer anything that seemed superior to ourselves, so if they play like that on Saturday, it is game on.
15. Come on, what ever next? What about "If I had the wings of a sparrow" Is that offensive? Is it cruel to birds? Homophobia chants towards Le Saux as a direct comparison to the disgraceful chants in spain has all the hallmarks of the Daily Mail letters page. Lighten up. Over and out!
16. I would agree with that. Speak up, because if you dont it will get worse.
17. He also reacted well after his booking. Thought le saux and the others would try and wind him up aftewards, but he kept his cool, played well, and still got stuck in. Top man. More of the same please.
18. Don''t know if this has been posted yet or not, but just heard it confirmed on radio.
19. Wont be booing either. Kenton was as cool as ice when here and you cant really blame him for going. Seemed to sometimes look a bit lazy, but I think that was just his cool style, but also a great defender and very versatile. Crouch was a great piece of business, and I for one am disappointed that he is not here on a permanent basis.
20. Robert, rather than contribute to the happy memories here, I would just like to congratulate you on a great thread title. Am seeing Morrissey myself on 18th December at Earls Court, straight after Chelsea away, and therefore I fully appreciate this thread. Nice one!
21. Well as said earlier, if he can produce, he will play, it is as simple as that. Reputations, National sides, "best defender in Euro 2004" etc mean nothing if he is not producing wearing a green and yellow shirt. I have no problem in giving him a run of games, by all means, but if that run of games shows us all what many of us may already be thinking, then my earlier comments stand.
