  1. Suarez is a walking, running, diving Hex on us. I thought before the game maybe its time for some old school tactics and someone will be told ''man mark him, take him out, whatever it takes''. Is that too simplistic or what? Big Dunc would have sorted him, bless his soul.
  2. Ha Ha nice one...actually maybe they would player better if they did!
  3. Even if this patchy form continued we would finish on about 42 points. If we improve, as I think we will, then more points and premier league consolidation is distinctly possible. We can then buy better players and move on a bit each season, gradually becoming more expansive in our play. Its a long term, sustainable strategy we need, not gung-ho tactics as some on here would seem to prefer. I believe Hughton can achieve that for us...
  4. We made Stoke look awful...I don''t hold much hope for them, they look bottom 3 material.
  5. Could of hit an elderly lady in the face...A fair shout...that must be 90% of the crowd...
  6. I just met a Celtic fan in Manchester this morning, ironically wearing a Hooper shirt, so I could not help but talk to him. In summary he said "Norwich have a great buy and Hooper has/had almost hero status with Celtic fans. He is not blessed with blistering pace over long distances but is quick enough over 20m which is really what counts. He has good upper body strength so can hold the ball up well; seldom needs two touches and buries most chances...a natural finisher". Thinks we have a bargain! He also mentioned Celtic fans love going to Norwich, great place and great fans. They took 7,000 to a recent pre-season friendly in Brentford, which is amazing. He wants a British cup that takes the place of the league cup so we get the chance to play Scottish clubs.
  7. Agreed, he also showed maturity at the end with respect for the young Chelsea players who were feeling the disappointment.
  8. Its different...undecided, they are never great but not feeling as negative as previous comments. I like that we are unique in the league, nobody else plays in green or yellow, enough for me!
  9. I''ve supported him all season and continue to do so. Getting on the managerial merry go round will not benefit us. We need stability. He did very well at Newcastle and Birmingham and I suspect his somewhat negative (but necessary) approach will be different next year, particularly once we have some better players coming in.
  10. Top post...puts things into perspective. As I have said many times we should stick with Hughton...I think we will see a different approach next year.
  11. just for the record, i''d like to see hughton have his second season, and have it as his defining one. Well said translator...I concur
  12. Mellow I can''t remember a time when I disagreed with your posts. In the early days your comical routines made me ...... wet my pants! You''re mistaking me for someone else...
  13. This thread reeks out of sour grapes. If somebody asked me what league i''d rather be in, Championship or Premier League, it would be Premier League. Grow up.Predictable and banal answer...and insultingly patronising.
  14. It does quite a bit for the economy of Norwich and NorfolkPersonally I think that argument is over sold...do we ever see any figures? How does it? Supporters in the city for a day spending money in shops, restaurants and pubs? I suggest the same amount would come to championship games...and there are more of them! Also can we just leave the money out of it or that just misses the point...the money is what is spoiling it.
  15. I confess I am beginning to hate all it stands for...the same as I hate rich people who don''t give a toss about others. Unless you are a regular top 6 team its all about a yearly struggle against relegation...or if you are lucky, boring stagnation! Its money obsessed and the top 4 wield too much power. To see Fergie, Mancini, Winjer and the Temp constantly whining about injustice and referees decisions is sickening now...they want to be where we are and see what real injustice is like! All they care about is Champions league and so I hope they break away to a European super league eventually...good riddance...maybe then we will have a real top league worth being in.Till then I am not sure Championship would be all that bad. We may actually play without fear again and even believe a cup run is worth it!
  16. I hope the Chairman and board show strength like Wigan do with their manager. Hughton is a good manager, he makes decent signings and he is looking long term and trying to make this club operate on a sustainable basis. Sadly I believe events have conspired against him; he cannot control individual mistakes and loss of form, or referees decisions. Even if we were to be relegated from this money obsessed league (with all the crap that goes with that) he is good enough to bring us back again (not even sure i want to). We do not want to become a sacking club unnecessarily...look what happened to Wolves! You may detect some cynicism of the premier league...correct...I can see a time when the rest break away. It sucks and its hard to enjoy unless you are top 6. I actually enjoyed our time in League 1 and the Championship more!
  17. NO!!!! All you people who do not support your manager through some tough times get a grip please.
  18. NO! We need to stick with Hughton we do not want to become a sacking club. All you doom merchants, we may yet stay up...!
  19. And sung more infrequently, not barked out every couple of minutes like a cuckoo clock on speed that has swallow a couple of dozen boxes of pro plus. Funny how West Ham with ''blowin bubbles, Brum with ''Keep right on ", Livepool ''Walk on'' can sing ther clubs song.We get some halfwit giving us a ''countdown'' as if is the opening of a new poundshop in some chavvy town, being opened by a Big Brother contestant from 2005 lmao...brilliant City 1st...sums it up perfectly! I just wish we would stop singing it altogether, I find it embarrassing unless 5000+ are singing in unison
  20. 100% You can''t make a silk purse out of a sow''s ear...he needs time to complete his own squad and integrate his true footballing philosophy. Any judgement should wait until xmas next season.
  21. Thanks Dr Dublin and Bert...restored my faith a bit in the friendliness of our support
  22. Oh my...I see now why I left this board for a while. I will pitch my allegiance against yours anytime sonny
