1. "I just love your username Zak, brilliant." You''re quick enough to pick people up on replying with no substance, but as soon as someone questions you genuinely about the thread but it doesn''t suit your agenda, you do exactly the same. Priceless.
2. Whittaker gets forward more than RM. he''s more attack minded. When he was playing Garrido, our more conservative left back was in the team. Now that Olsson is starting, our more more conservative RB is too. I don''t think we can afford to have two full back in the team that bomb forward at every opportunity. It has also coincided with Redmond being injured, allowing Olsson into the team to get forward as Pilkington will cover for him, whereas Redmond''s defensive game needs work. When Redmond starts again I suspect we''ll see Garrido again if he starts on the left, or Olsson and Martin if NR replaces Snodgrass.
3. "What''s the harm?" As several others have said before me, the harm in our case is for every away fan sat in a home area, there''s a home fan that couldn''t get a ticket. There''s a mechanism in place for away fans to buy tickets. It''s through their own club. Those are the rules, whether people like it or not. It''s the clubs job to enforce them.
4. Not in the slightest. It''s never nice to be in the bottom 3, but we''ve not started to get cut adrift already like Palace and Sunderland. We''ve also played 3 of the likely top 6. But for one poor performance against 10 men, we''d be 11th, so it''s still too tight this early in the season to place any meaning on being where we are. A result against Cardiff would be nice, given the fixtures we have either side of that, but we have a run of fixtures after that where (Liverpool aside) we could reasonably expect to get something from all of the games up until Christmas. I''ll be judging our performance then.
5.
Bragging rights 1-0 to Elmander, apparently Ibrahimovic say he looks like a new player which is great as at Bolton he was shite! Good performance against Bury and was solid against the Saints......the new Kei Kamara!
Seems a bit harsh. From memory he had at least one good season with them.
6. It''s the name that gets me. I cringe every time I hear it.
7. That''s more than likely part of the reason the Steve Morison situation ended up the way it did. He was never going to be a world beater, but he didn''t score 8 or 9 league goals in half a season by accident. Suddenly people started getting on his back and making him a scapegoat. He clearly didn''t like it, as evidenced by his reaction after the goal at Arsenal. I''m not saying that he wasn''t due some criticism at times, but it spread throughout a large part of the fanbase and became spiteful and targeted abuse. In one game he chased a full back downin the corner, got a challenge in, but the ball broke kindly for the full back and Morison ended up on his arse. By the time he was up the full back was 30 yards away with the ball, but a load of people around me have him a barrage of abuse for not chasing him down again. It was completely unnecessary. Grant holt dropped an absolute clanger in their box about a minute later and not one of them uttered so much as a groan. It''s quite a rare person that will respond well to constant abuse and criticism and perform better for it.
8.

I think Bale is a phenomenal talent. To be "world class" however... in my opinion.. you need to actually win a big tournament. Something he should do at Real Madrid
The quality of a player is in no way related to what they have won, or what team they play in.
I get what RC is saying. The best players have the bottle to perform at the crunch moments on the biggest stages. Zidane, for example, seemed to pull something out of the bag when it really mattered in the big games. Other very talented players to missing sometimes when the pressure is on. There''s no doubt that bale has the talent to perform at times like that, and he did it in the league with some amazing goals when they really needed them last season, but he hasn''t done it when winning something is on the line yet.
9. If its who I think it is, one of them is managing just down the road.
10. "Give him a break - we''re three games in. We literally lost to 10 man Hull last week and you people are slamming Di Canio for losing to palace" He''s publicly slagged his team off. He might have gotten away with that 20 years ago, but times have changed and players can seal your fate if you piss them off. Dangerous attitude to have as a manager. He doesn''t seem to have the rational man manager skills required of a top level boss.
11. A few years ago the Doc suddenly stopped playing long balls. Instead, he gave it to one of the full backs every time. He was clearly under instructions to do so. I''d like to see Johnson do similar. Keep it very simple. Give it to Fer or one of the full backs or wingers. Retaining the ball is more important than attempting a difficult long ball that has very little chance of success. Obviously, under pressure the ball may just need to get launched, but a pro should know when that''s necessary. He had a decent game yesterday. There''s definitely a place for him in the team alongside Leroy.
12. Comments like that in public will go down as well as a Phil Brown half time team talk. Gone by Christmas?
13. According to the Internet, 60p in 1985 is £1.54 today, so yes, a massive rip off. I stopped buying them years and years ago. I do wish I still had them from my early games though.
14. Just listened to canary call from earlier, including Redmond''s interview. Came across very well for such a young lad. Level headed, sounds like he''s got a great attitude and is keen to learn. He mentioned the fact that the older players like snoddy are giving him advice on how to improve. I''m impressed.
15. Could just be that this is how he wants to play since he assembled "his" team, and last week was a blip. The Everton game was a solid enough performance, hull was dire, today was good. I don''t think for a second that the handwringers have gone away though. They''ll be waiting with a big stick to give Hughton a good bashing when we put in another below par performance.
16. They''re not great with me either. Christmas is always...erm...tuneful. Cheer up, Browny. People are having a laugh. Stop pouting.
17. Thanks Mrs H. Glad you liked it. Get the sprouts on. Don''t want ''em crunchy.
18.
You have no idea what actually happened with his transfer request. Yes, there were occasions last year where he let his frustrations get the better of him, but it certainly wasn''t because he didn''t give a s**t. Top goal scorer 4 seasons running, played a massive part in dragging us up from our lowest point in 50 years to our highest point in 20. 3 time player of the season, captain, leader legend. He deserves more respect.
Hi Mrs Holt. We all know that your son played a massive part for Norwich City. Don''t worry about all of these comments. Most of the fans still love him. They''re just having a laugh and a joke in response to the OP''s (original poster''s) question. Possibly because they think we should never have sold him. Personally I think the time was right for him to leave, as he wanted to be closer to you and his wife and kids. I''m sure you do a cracking roast on a Sunday, so how could he stay away from that?! Just keep him off the apple pie and custard during the season!
19. If he doesn''t want people jumping up in front of him he needs to move to the front row or stump up for a box. Ignore him.
20. "This whole thread is a joke. Johnson, snoddy and RVW hardly warrant any criticism." Johnson...improved passing, but room for improvement still. A defensive rock though. RVW...he''s not in the team to hare around trying to win the ball. He wants/needs service. Cuts quite a frustrated figure when he asks for the ball into feet around the box and it doesn''t arrive. We need to work on slipping him in (f''narr). Snodgrass...his usual industrious self, and got us plenty of free kicks, but delivery was poor today. His "performances" may have cost us the penalty shout at the end of the game.
21. "I try not to think about his shooting..." It''s getting quite comical now. Every time it looks like he''s about to smash one into row Z there''s a collective "Nooooooooo" in the crowd. He was much improved today. Still played the odd bad pass, but it was nowhere near as bad as the showing against Hull where he struggled to pass the ball 5 yards at times. Awesome display of hard tackling, I thought.
22. "We''re you there?" Groan. Yes. I was. I''m a season ticket holder. I watched the whole game. Of course Fer will reach his full potential and be a more complete footballer before Redmond. He''s 4 years ahead in his development. All we''ve read for the last year and a bit is that we don''t attack enough and provide excitement and entertainment. As soon as we''ve got a player who is capable of doing just that, someone pops up and criticises him for the pitfalls that are inevitable when you have a player like that in the team. I know he gives the ball away. His game is based around running with the ball. It doesn''t always come off. It''s inevitable. At least the majority of the time when he gives it away its when we''re attacking. He leaves Garrido exposed. Of course he does. I''d rather he played his natural game than sit on the half way line and provide support to the LB. I suspect that''s why Garrido is starting ahead of Olsson, as he''s the more experienced defender. If people are getting over excited about him...so what? He does have the potential to be one of our bet ever wingers. They''re happy after our first win of the season. Let them enjoy it.
23. "Kerching !! Lol. Major woosh for those who seem to want to have his babies based on one goal." Seriously? Really? The boy was brilliant today. The most exciting winger we''ve had since Huckerby, scores the winning goal today, and has looked our most threatening player in all 3 league games... ...and you''re giving him stick. Yes, he''s defensively naive. He''s 19. He''ll learn. Some people just can''t be pleased.
24. Just a temporary back up to cover Bennett''s injury, surely? It''s nothing like the Harry Kane situation, before people start harping on about that.
