1.
I''m glad Andy Gray has been sacked after his sexist & ignorant comments on TV. Sky Sports should set an example & give his job to a female presenter. Preferably one with f*****g huge tits.
Thanks for that, I just spat out my coffee all over my desk laughing !
 2.
I drove my 13 year old to school this morning and we discussed the Andy Gray issue as it was on the news. My football mad son is a bright enough lad but struggled to see what all the fuss is about. (Regarding the microphone down the trousers): ''But he was only joking wasn''t he Dad?'' It seems we now have a need to explain all this political correctness. People attitudes towards so many things have changed; I ackowledge and respect that. But I still prefer male commentators and officials - I don''t think that makes me a dinosaur - I just prefer it.
Fair points, well made. The voice of reason ........ we can''t have that on here can we ? Is that allowed ? Someone talking plain, reasonable commonsense. Blimey, there should be a law against it. If there isn''t one now, there soon will be.
 3.

What absolute tosh, the world has gone mad!  It`s no wonder we are no longer a great country.
What has the sacking of Andy Gray got to do with the decline of Britain as a world power?
Of course the sacking of Andy Gray is nonsense. The person who should be sacked is whoever placed the content of the conversation into the public domain. Seems to me that Gray has the right to sue Sky for breach of privacy, a law that was created following Max Mosley''s successful breach of privacy lawsuit against ............ the News of the World who of course Gray is already suing in relation to phone tapping. There''s alot more to this than meets the eye and I expect Gray and a team of lawyers to come out fighting. As for Canary Girl''s reference to "no longer being a great country" it seems clear to me, if not to you, that she is obviously saying that this absurd episode is symptomatic of a British society that has degenerated alarmingly into a pathetic, PC state - a country which I for one find it increasingly difficult to identify with. Of course Gray shouldn''t have said what he said but it was hardly extreme and was off air and private.Watching Bill Turnbull and Sian Willaims discussing the matter on BBC this morning made me, and the wife, reach for our sickbags. The whole thing has been blown up out of all proportion and should never have been made public anyway. Don''t get me wrong, I don''t have much time for Andy Gray as a football pundit/presenter but that it not the point, is it ? IMO Andy Gray has been stitched up like the proverbial kipper by Sky, whose owner also owns the News of the Screws, because they wanted him out and I hope he takes them to the cleaners. PS my use of "the wife" (demeaning and possessive descripttion of a female partner) was deliberate because I knew that it would get quite a few people on here excited, if only briefly.
 4.
I feel really sorry for the lady. She has obviously passed all the stringent tests required to officiate at the level of assistant Referee in the Premier League. And, whatsmore got the big decison - the ''offside that wasn''t'' when Liverpool scored against Wolves - absolutely correct. Due to a ''Super Pundit'' (a real life nobody) making snide remarks she has been taken out of her last nights appointment and now I''m sure she will have the cameras watching her every move. She doesn''t deserve this, she has dipped out due to the action of another. The sooner some dinosaurs realise men do not have the monopoly on everything the better. Good luck Sian, and I hope things return to some form of normality for you soon.
Fully agree. Whoever it was who placed the content of a private conversation into the public domain has alot to answer for.
 5.

it will never dip below 1 [;)]
I''m not sure you should be proud of saying that!
Well im on from 5 - 10ish at night. Although the xbox takes pride over he pinkun I will ocasionally have a refresh and comment - if necessary...or not [y]
I had a bad night the other night so was drinking tea in the early hours and thought I would check out the Pink Un MB and noticed it said 12 viewing which somehow didn''t ring true ! What I don''t understand is that it isn''t so long that I would have a few spare moments at work, have a shufty at the MB and I would be the only person viewing so something seems to have changed in the last week or so. Lots of viewers now though with the Andy Gray news breaking !
 6. Only a short while ago, I noticed there would regularly be less than 5 people viewing and usually less. However, recently whenever I have clicked onto this MB the suggestion is that 15 people are viewing (like now), sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. Somehow, I don''t think so. Just an observation, that''s all.
Perhaps you should delete this message for the sin of "Duplication" because I''m sure it''s been said many times before especially recently....
Duplicated posts usually get deleted with the original remaining, just as yours is.
To be honest, and referring to your email of yesteday "POST DELETED. REASON : DUPLICATION" which, as I said, I only saw today, I can''t even recall what I posted on 17th but it wasn''t much and certainly nothing provocative or unpleasant and whatever it was I didn''t realise some other poster had something similar. I just think it''s a bit sad and petty, meticulously combing contributions and deleting posts for the offence of duplication.

 9. Al Catraz wrote: Similar height and build as Jackson so maybe a paleyer exchange plus cash coming up ... Do you HONESTLY believe that!? Wilbraham a replacement for Holt, and Fox a replacement for Hoolahan, but it seems we''ve gone one step further with this one... In spite of Bennett being a diminutive midfielder, Jackson being an off-the-shoulder goal poaching striker, some are still bound to draw a correlation, probably because they both fit a relatively similar ''physical'' description. I''ve watched both of them play, and as players, apart from pace, they are worlds apart. Bennett has pure class in possession of the ball, receives and distributes it well, has fantastic vision to utilise the play around him, and also gets stuck in well. Can play almost anywhere, from the hole behind the strikers to right back. Simeon Jackson works the channels on the front-line, looking to burst in behind the last man, and often does his job well might i add. His work in the final third has been the key issue, and confidence seems to be the factor holding him back. Lambert is sensible, and unlike o'' so many fickle fans, knows full well what the game is like. A career can change in a single instance, and football has got billions of those. Fans are easily swayed. A brace in his next game and we ALL will be singing his praises, a million miles away from thoughts and voices urging him to depart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In need of a ''Southerly'' view of Carrow Road? Be sure to follow my new blog, at: http://services.pinkun.com/FORUMS/PINKUN/CS/blogs/canary_amongst_seagulls/archive/2010/12.aspx I tried to reply to your post earlier but when I came to post my reply it said "resource not found" and I lost it. So, I am drafting this reply on email so if I lose it again I still have a copy. Of course, I never said "Wilbraham a replacement for Holt, and Fox a replacement for Hoolahan". Those players have nothing to do with the dialogue and I don''t belive the assertion anyway. My reference was to the similarity of player including stature - and since when has 5''9" been diminutive and where does that leave players like Lennon ....... positively "dwarf like" ? Bennett is not a winger and I don''t think for one moment that Lambert''s regards his priority as finding a better winger than MacNamee. Lambert knows full well that we seriously need another striker/attacker who offers something different from what we currently have and importantly who can score goals. There are real similarities between Bennett and Jackson apart from height : both are fast and rely heavily on pace and both have made their mark at League One level. Bennett is probably that bit more creative and has better ball control. Brighton are top of League One and going for promotion. Therefore, they would resist very strongly losing a goal scoring/creative attacker like Bennett unless perhaps the pill was sweetened by the offer of another proven goal scorer i.e. Jacson at League One level plus cash. That seems to make quite alot of sense to me. What doesn''t make sense to me is having both Jackson and Bennett. BTW I saw Bennett play at Southampton, I live on the south coast too and friends of mine are season ticket holders. It was a poor game and Bennett didn''t impress (although presumably a one-off) and it struck me at the time that he looked and played similarly to ........ Jackson. As it happens, my opinion is that our priority is for another player in the Holt mould i.e. someone like Parkin ..... because it is starting to look as though we struggle to win when Holt is not in the team with the presence and reputation that he has.
 10. Enjoyable and interesting post. I thought we should have had two pens, the second not given because not deliberate handball was ironic because of the penalty awared against us at Cardiff when we had just got one back to make it 2-1. It killed off the game.
 11. Similar height and build as Jackson so maybe a paleyer exchange plus cash coming up
 12. What an ill-judged move for O''Neill. I wonder how long he will last with those two grubby old so and so''s. Martin O''Neill set to replace Avram Grant at West Ham O''Neill led Aston Villa to sixth in the table for three seasons running Martin O''Neill is being lined up to replace Avram Grant as manager of West Ham after Saturday''s match against Arsenal, BBC Sport understands. The Hammers are bottom of the Premier League, although Grant has lost only one of his last seven games in charge. O''Neill, 58, quit Aston Villa out of the blue on the eve of this season. "O''Neill and West Ham have been in talks over the last week and it seems he will be the new manager," said BBC sports news correspondent Dan Roan. "My understanding is Avram Grant will be sacked following West Ham''s match against Arsenal at Upton Park. "We haven''t had anything official yet from the club but this is what sources are indicating to us. "There was a board meeting on Wednesday after which club owners David Sullivan and David Gold refused to publicly back their man and it seems a decision has been taken and this will be Grant''s last match in charge." 606: DEBATE O''Neill, well that would be a coup, but like some coups d''etat it could be very short lived happyhammer Israeli Grant, who succeeded Gianfranco Zola in June, led West Ham to their worst ever start in the Premier League, with his side winning only two games before the end of November. However, recent positive results, including the 2-1 defeat of Birmingham in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final on Tuesday, suggested he might have won a reprieve. And on Friday the 55-year-old declared himself unworried by speculation concerning his future at the club. "It doesn''t concern me. I have a job here and I have to focus on that. I love the vision of the club. It''s a big, big challenge," he said. "We have made progress on the football side. We are at the bottom but we are not worse than any of the seven teams down there. "We are two points from 14th place. I think we are doing the right things. I do not think we will be bottom at the end of the season. If I thought that I would not be here." Northern Irishman O''Neill made his name as a manager at Wycombe Wanderers, leading them into the Football League for the first time. He had a short spell at Norwich before landing the top job at Leicester in 1995, where he won the League Cup twice. O''Neill''s next stop was Celtic, where he won the domestic treble in his first season, led them to the 2003 Uefa Cup final and won three League titles and three Scottish Cups in total. After a brief period out of the sport to care for his sick wife, O''Neill joined Villa in 2006, leading the Midlands club to sixth in the Premiership for three seasons running. However, he resigned in August 2010, five days before the start of the new season, reportedly because he was unhappy with the transfer funds available. "The understanding from sources close to him is he''s not finished with football and he still believes he has the desire and hunger it takes to manage at the top level," added Roan. "I wouldn''t be surprised if West Ham offered him some kind of short-term contract, perhaps a six-month contract, highly incentivised, trying to ensure that they do survive."
 13. V disappointed to read this. Oli is the one striker in our squad who has the ability to suddently do something different and change a game. I didn''t understand why Lambo didn''t start him or at least give him 30 minutes as a sub against Middlesborough. How long before Jackson goes out on loan I wonder. And as for Wilbraham, yes it''s early days, but based upon first impressions he seem to be a journeyman. Then there''s MacNamee, again I wonder how long he has got left with us.
 14.
I think he rejected approaches of Charlton and Palace I don''t think Burnley had made an approach then although there was a lot of speculation. Even so its very harsh on the fans for him to say he''s staying one day and moving next. Most people interpreted that it was in relevance to all jobs that were available not just the clubs who''d made an approach. Think he''s done a decent job at Bournemouth judging by financial pressures, but probably made himself a judas type figure because of the other day.
There was an article on South Today yesterday in which he was interviewed following a meeting with the Bournemouth FC Board and categorically stated he was not leaving.
 15.
Maybe we could sign a few more and increase that shortage. Then we could strategise to exploit our rivals left flank weakness. Not sure what woulkd happen if RMartin got injured though. [;)] OTBC
Nice one Bly !
 16.
Some people around here are very quick to forget that we were a floundering mess before Lambert arrived. It would do you good to remember that in the bigger picture we are not even all that !Pride comes before a fall guys !
Lambert has dome a great job for us, no doubt about that. However, we weren''t in a floundering mess when he took over. Gunn had already laid the foundations of a very good squad and Lambert subsequently stated that. Indeed the two "men of the match" against QPR were nelson who was the central pillar of our defence and of course Holt leading the attack up front. Praise Lambert by all means, I certainly do, but it''s a distortion of history to suggest that what he inherited was a foundering mess because that''s exactly what Gunn inherited not Lambert. The other favourite observation, including from neil Adams, is that "lambert has taken us from the bottom of the first division to the top of the Championship". Strictly speaking this is true but when Lambert took over the season was only two games old ! I can''t recall which other teams were in the bottom six when Lambert took over but it would be interesting to know.
 17.

very true. I have no contacts with NCFC btw. I was just interested in what I was told and posted without thinking... silly thing to do and I certainly regret posting it. I won''t do it again that''s for sure!
You are also saying an illegal approach was made for PL, so McNally needs to know this imo.
.................... but McWally already knows about it doesn''t he, wasn''t it him who brought Lambo to Carrow Road ?
 18.
Mr Lambert is a fine and honourable man and I believe what he told us. Why are you trying to create trouble?
Ha ha, not that I''m bothered but try saying that to Mr Cowling and/or any Col Who supporter.
 19.
And its damn posts like this that created all the panic in the first chuffing place!
No, it isn''t. It was Lambert''s failure to state "by the way I am happy here and have no intention of leaving" at the Friday morning press conference that fuelled so much speculation which was allowed to continue throughout the day before our wonderful Mr McNally thought it sensible, finally, to do something about it. BTW, sorry if I am not one of your fave multiple posters on here as I know that somehow that devalues my contribution which of course you won''t agree with as you are one of the "in Lambert we trust" merchants. Sadly, as I am a big fan of Lambert;s ability as a manager, my view is that either way he will be off to pastures new in the summer.
 20.
Jim, maybe he is like a lot of us married men out there who detest repeating themselves all of the time, therefore he doesn''t come out with the exact words that so many of you want to hear because he has said it all before and is pi**ed off at the thought of having to say it all again, just to keep us and the media quiet. I may as yet be proven wrong, however I hope to g*d I am not!
I am a married man too and I don''t like repeating myself either but this is totally different. Unlike previous situations this is a formal approach from Burnley for our manager and, as I already said, it would not have been at all unreasonable for Lambert to have referred to the Club''s official statement and simply added " and by the way, I am happy here and I am going nowhere". What''s the problem with that ? By omitting this reassurance he has caused huge amounts of speculation, hopefully all unfounded.......... but who knows ?!
 21.
Lynn Canary - what you have to remember is that there is a minority of city fans who''re not happy unless they''re having a good old moan about something. They love it.
That''s just silly. All they are saying is that it would not have been at all unreasonable for Lambert to have referred to the Club''s official statement and simply added " and by the way, I am happy here and I am going nowhere". Had he said that then this Message Board would have been as quiet as it normally is these days apart from having fun at Ipswich''s expense.Who''s laughing now ? Not Norwich fans, not Ipswich fans ....... wait .... could it be Col Who fans and Mr Cowell ??
 22. ..........with a "massive" fan base. Descriptions that Lambert has often used to describe Norwich and Norwich fans. Let''s be clear, it would be laughable for Lambert to jump ship and join Burnley, it would be sheer hypocrisy on his part and the only possible reason he would go would be for "loads amoney" and I for one don''t think he is that short-sighted. Don''t get me wrong, he will go and it will probably be in the summer but when he does go it will be to a club which is genuinely bigger than Norwich and one which which offers much greater long term potential, a club which which offers not just more money for him personally but also to invest in top quality players. Bur Burnley ? No chance.
 23. I suppose it didn''t help that we had to play against 11 men for the whole game. Seriously, our play makers were absent and I don''t think that Jackson (or Wilbraham) are good enough at this level. I bracketed Wilbraham because it is still "early days" and he needs to improve his fitness and adjust to the pace and quality of the Championship. To be honest though, I am surprised by this signing. He isn''t a Holt type player so he hasn''t been brought in to "understudy" Holt and indeed he has now played alongside Holt in two consecutive matches. Not sure what he brings to the table.
