1. Yep, I''m with Stevenage, DDiM etc. in supporting Mackenzie''s case, but only up to a point.  From Saturday''s evidence (with apologies to Doherty), I''d say of the three possibles he is the most likely to put fear into the opposing defence with his trickiness, whereas the other two do not instil a sense of imminent danger, being more straightforward players and not so fast as Leon.  We were looking in command, in theory anyway, in the last 10-15 minutes and camped out in their half with WBA looking helpless at times, but there was no trickery or guile or really any attempt to create or score a concrete goal (except when Drury and McVeigh were in possession on the extremities) which was why it was so frustrating for us watching it.  It was like being invited up to the bedroom and being shown the etchings.  Credit to their back four though. I feel paradoxically that if Leon had been brought ON at that moment he would have caused some damage.  The trouble was, WBA''d been used to subduing him till then and maybe started to relax (or show their tiredness) when he got taken off, and the big (though rapidly slimming) Swede was unable to capitalise, being a bit too predictable and dare I say it, a tad slow.  What we want is for Leon to wear them down over the match and then be brought on near the end, to devastating effect (a terrible case of wanting to have my cake and eat it!)
2.
Whaaaahhheeeyyy! When do I get to claim my kiss, Generation A47?!!!!! Are there going to be any more competitions like this one? This is better than winning money!!!!!!
Steady on!  How do you know I''m not a Joe Royle lookalike with halitosis?  Can I please also point out, to avoid any potential confusion at this point, that the booby prize is certainly not by implication a tonguing from me! OTBC - still hanging on in there (or thereabouts)
3. The mist was merely concealing the modest observation that in football supporting life, as in ordinary life but even more so, we do love to jump the gun and draw superbly interesting conclusions from the most neutral of premises.  I had never seen such arguments expressed so beautifully and concisely before as in that pair of juxtaposed formulae (blatant inequalities expressed as equalities), so I was greatly inspired to create my own logical nightmare & share it with you.  OK, it wasn''t exactly a shining pearl of wisdom!  As people have pointed out very recently, we''re just here for some measured discussion & maybe a few laughs, right?!
4.
Am I getting the hang of this Anderz? Black is white, white is black...and, er, ''we are top of the league, say we are top of the league''!!!
First prize to Susie for going one step further & totally comprehending the point!  Booby prize to Ayrton for not going beyond step 1 (& finding solace in denigration!)  And a pint of whatever it is I''d been on to everyone else; collect your prizes at the next Berkshire orgy (12.45, 23rd October, 3 Guineas, Reading)...
5. I know they''re only points for discussion, but it''s amusing to see two topic titles with the same mathematically impossible format - thought I''d add one for a laugh.  Ha ha.  So funny, aren''t I. (Disclaimer: Just to stress that the title of this post has no basis in fact, or even in opinion for that matter...)
6.
I remember when we finally signed Darren Huckerby on 26th December 2003...this message board was buzzing with excitement and you just couldn''t keep up with peoples comments on here. Now, there doesn''...
Yeah, been on holiday in Japan for 2 weeks.  I''m sure other people are also on hol or busy or maybe it''s going to be quiet till the transfer window gets closer or we win a game (whichever comes first...  Shock! Horror! Negative thoughts creeping in? No, only joking, we''ll sneak a 1-0 at the Hawthornes and be on course for real, at last.) OTBC
7. "He scored against the scum, he scored another one!"  Good for him! Now, if only he was on loan from us (but let''s not go into that one again)...
8. Check out the Popular Topics button at the top right of every page (http://new.pinkun.com/forums/miscellaneous.aspx?show=popular)
9.
your very right generation worthy is very much at city, the right one. it was a late night what can i say
Well, ''sorry'' would be a good start... Not really!  As Father Ed, the green-&-yellow-befrocked poster on this board might say, all is forgiven, my son (just don''t do it again!).  (I''m sure I''ve made worse mistakes late at night, when not fully in control of my faculties.)
10. Good, don''t know, yes (but it''s only Crewe, at 3pm), and yes.
11.
GenerationA47 - When I next have a spare evening I''ll have a look at what the possibilites are out of the system and discuss them with the Web Team.
OK Stoive, thanks a lot.  However, I really don''t want to be the cause of your free evenings getting chewed up!  Look forward to hearing the result.
12. They can talk- all they sang was ''We are Tottenham'' and ''Yid army''!  How original.  Oh yes, and ''Who the $£*% hell are you'' and ''Yiddos''.  Great.  Not as bad as Leicester though for example: their one hit (to tune of Amazing Grace) is ''Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester''.  (As Coogan would say) I mean, I could go on.
13. I''ve no idea, "242''s finest", it might be worth another try though!  However I reckon even if it is legal, they would be entitled to enforce their house rules, it being a private venue.
14. 1. Look forward to seeing what the web guru has to say.  Thanks. 2. Nice one!  Cheers.
15. Vince, have you considered the following tiny possibilities: 1. On the personal prediction results pages, including Actual Score, Actual Scorer, etc. for quick comparison & reference.  I imagine this could be relatively easy to set up as a template which automatically updates when the final score & details are in, the only issue being whether it would be look cluttered on the page (though personally I should think using tables would do the trick?). 2. On all Prediction Lge pages, cross-linking to the other Prediction Lge pages, especially between the ''League table'' and ''Make a prediction'' pages.  This would increase user-friendliness a lot and avoid having to go to the Prediction lge homepage every time you want to switch between pages. Wishlist ends here!
16. Yes indeed, MPR: about 30,000 Spurs fans were considerably p''ed off with the ref for substantial parts of the match for what they saw as a string of unfavourable decisions against them.  I know they were because I was sitting amongst them!  All in all the ref wasn''t exactly having a great game... It was also funny that whenever one or several of our boys pulled off a great tackle or interception the TH fans would tut and put it down to their own players'' mistakes, as if it couldn''t possibly be down to our skill - as everyone knows, we''re just a Div 1 team in the wrong division!  It''s always very revealing, sitting with the other half.  To be fair though they did generously acknowledge Green''s triumphs to themselves.
17. Just a re-notification of the above for those that haven''t seen it yet.  The venue can of course be revised at half time or something, if requested! G
18. Can you string a longbow, and wield a broadsword, and carry your shield and your arms for many leagues?  Then you shall surely be welcome here, Wench.  Fear not about appearing ignorant, for you shall learn many things before you leave this place, and if necessary the wise with their exalted knowledge will strive to bear us on their backs to the havens beyond. On the ball, City!
19. Yep, the 2nd-half away support was fantastic - I was in the North Stand today unfortunately, so for example could only chant ''Green-o'' while the fans around were chanting ''Keane-o''!  To be fair though the home support was good and not confined to only a few sections unlike some clubs.  When the Spurs crowd got going they easily drowned out the Norwich fans - at least from where we were sitting, which wasn''t even a particularly noisy part.  Still, at least we don''t play inspirational video clips inside the stands of our team winning from the 1970s- or continually play ancient team songs from long-gone ''glory'' days over the tannoy. Anyway good on you everyone who was in the away end - especially whoever started "What the &&&&ing hell was that?" when they missed the goal, "Are you watching Eriksson?" and the revised "England''s, England''s No. 2!" song. Greeno - what a star!  Had a great view of his best saves, worth the entrance money alone.
20. Absolutely, Gazza the Great - emotions are a large part of what makes football - though to be fair I think we''d generally agree that in the normal course of events that rightly belongs more on the fan side of things rather than the managerial side.  However, for example I don''t even think it''s sentimental to discuss and decide a senior player''s departure with them face to face rather than announcing it while they''re away, just respectful.  Again, surely it''s not sentimental to retain an experienced player who doesn''t necessarily want to leave & can''t even be replaced for 3 or 4 crucial months, in a squad of limited depth, at a club of restricted means.  Fair play to the club for obtaining 300 grand for -with all due respect to a great footballer and a smashing chap- an older player who cost 350 three years before, and agreed we need more cash to bolster both our defence and our strikeforce with quality additions, but even though Worthie said it''s going in the transfer kitty, we can''t actually spend it.  Well, that''s just my opinion and apologies to one & all if the precise circumstances described above don''t actually apply in this case - obviously I''m only going on the modest information available to the public, but drawing different lessons from the saga to those drawn by some others.
21. At the risk of sounding like a Delia Disser, the biting wit on that tosser site is delicious.  Make these fools eat their words.  Good stuff, Roy''s B*stard et al.
22. With great respect for your enthusiasm, this is my favourite: http://www.toomanynewsites.com/
