I think both Lee and Shacks have their sights set higher.  Think we might have a chance to sign Lee if he gets no other offers but think we can do better than him given that it will probably take up to £500k to get him.  Would rather we have Cort and save the money.

Could be a poor man''s Dickson Etuhu which would do us very nicely at the moment.

I have to say I am happy with the type of signing - lower league player with a proven track record and looks like the right personality too. Hope he knows a couple of good lower league defenders and strikers!

I seem to remember being similarly disappointed when we signed Clingan (my reaction was probably 1 league higher) Hope he can have a similar impact, have been missing a box to box CM for a while.

There really has been minimal activity so far this month, that is not to say that other managers have not been laying the groundwork for transfers. I think it is a bit soon to be slating Gunn''s transfer policy as until the window shuts and we see what we have, it is hard to say whether he is playing a smart game or not.  Just because the noises that are coming out of CR sound familiar, it does not mean we are going to make all the same mistakes again.

He will have an idea of how much he has to spend (even if it is nothing). Think all the talk about not knowing what it is means he has been told will get any money from player sales and possible investment.

I sincerely hope that we are about to witness the start of a new era for NCFC but I am at the moment still struggling to see how relegation is a good thing as not sure that our current position is any different after relegation.

Whether they will be any good is another matter........[/quote] I am with you Salahuddin.  Delia et al will put some cash in if only to hold off the baying wolves.  BG will have had promises made and I think he will have money plus the wages to get some players in, but they will be league 1 players - freebies and outcasts all, no doubt. It is incredibly frustrating for us interested bystanders, but I do also recognise that with the minimal cash we will have, the search is going to take some time.  Otherwise we would have already been making noises about Gow I think.

I do share your frustration about the lack of activity as I cannot remember a summer where our squad has looked so bereft of talent. Having said that, with our financial situation the way it is, would rather they took their time and brought in the right players on the right deals. There is also still the possibility that they are waiting to see what funds Foulger et al can drag up to see whether can bring in top tier targets or whether need to look further down the list. It is just the waiting in silence that annoys me.  Not sure if this is preferable to having a new article from Archant daily quoting staff at CR talking up how busy they are chasing down leads, making calls and trying to help.
