1.
the doc?? drury? spillane? rudd?
Can''t see Rudd playing yet but I agree with the other 3. Not hugely taken with Spillane yet but he has a chance to make RB his own, as he was before he got injured. I think he''s more of a prospect there than Russell Martin.
 2. I agree about fullbacks needing looking at. I''m unconvinced, as yet, by Russell Martin but I think Drury has another good year in the Championship in him. Maybe more, depends how ambitious we get. Midfield wise, you have to see how Smith develops. For all his good points, he is still looking lightweight in a poor division. I think he needs to become a bit more of a physical force to cope with the Championship. I imagine player turnover in the summer may mean a departure from the diamond, but what that says for Wes I don''t know. The front 3 will remain the same, almost undoubtedly, so again its tough to see where Macnamee fits into a narrow system....
 3.

WH have had an average turnover of about £60m for the last 3 seasons, so their debt is almost double their turnover.  NCFC''s turnover last year was £23.8m, which is slightly more than the debt, so relatively speaking I would say West Ham''s situation is a lot worse than ours.
Is that the answer you were looking for Babes[:^)]
Heh. Made me laugh.
 4.

Yes. The thousands of people who voted Croft (and Doc, to that poster above) Player of the Season know nothing about the sport, and its the back seat managers on here who are the real experts.
How do you know how many people voted? Do you know how the votes are counted? Do you actually know that they are counted at all? Do you believe everything that is fed to you? Sorry for being a ''back seat '' manager - I missed your tenure as England manager. I used to work for the Club - you didn''t.
Ah, you worked for the club, and thus know the ins and outs of how the POS award is managed? The fact that you said "In fact it tends to go to the players on their way out, or that the club want rid of" tells me all I need to know. Recent winners:Gary HoltAdam DruryCraig FlemingDarren HuckerbyGary DohertyDarren HuckerbyDion DublinLee CroftOf the last 8 recipients, the only 2 "on their way out" were Dublin and Croft. As for who the club wanted rid of, well, you seem to be the man in the know - why don''t you inform us? Did they want rid of Gary Holt? What about Craig Fleming, after his brilliant promotion year? Darren Huckerby? We could go further back, and include Iwan, or even Matt Jackson in 1998....So the club rig the annual vote, a tradition amongst fans and honoured in the name of one of our greatest ever players (if not the greatest), to further their own gains, and use it to bestow an honour on a player they hope will leave. Oh yes. You worked for the club. Silly  me.
 5. Yes. The thousands of people who voted Croft (and Doc, to that poster above) Player of the Season know nothing about the sport, and its the back seat managers on here who are the real experts.
 6. Millwall started off very, very quiet, and only made a bit of noise once they equalised. Once they went 1 up they were a bit better, and we got a bit quieter. They also have this thing of making one long, repetitive noise. Like a klaxon. JUst everyone making the same sound for about 10 seconds. Very weird.
 7.
The manager has lost the plot. He hasn''t picked Grant Holt for the last 3 games.
Strange that. You could still put money on him to score on Bet365 today.
 8. Why do some of us always try to wind up opposition fans when they come on these boards? This guy hasn''t really said a bad word. Grow up.
 9.

Very true, but...We also drop deeper and deeper because the players upfront and in midfield are concerned that we do not have two quality centre halves.
Utter bollocks. Don''t project your bias against players who have performed fine for weeks onto other players who just haven''t. We lost today because of the midfield. We were pressed, marked out of the game, and only Rusty in the diamond turned up. Smith was lightweight, Wes was absent and Lappin was useless. The game was won and lost there.
You might have added fuel to the fire there
I''m really not disagreeing with the Lappin thing. I said in my ratings that he was poor. I disagree with Smudger using any opportunity to dig at the centre backs even though they were not responsible for todays defeat. His often repeated stat that Doc has played in X number of Y defeats, as if he is singularly responsible... But no doubt he will be back, excusing the midfield for only being wary of the defenders shortcomings. I do wonder if Smudger had a bad experience with a tall ginger bloke as a kid. His phobia really goes beyond reason.

 11.
Gobby Ginga.....I was stood 3 feet away from him......He was gobby. More vocal than the bobby with the red I thought the local bobbies did well.....Those Millwall chavtastics? Boy, are they something special....         .....needs.
He was being just very unfunny with the police officer. Trying to start chants that no one gave a toss about. Loved the sound of his own voice.
 12. I do love a bit of casual racism too, smudger.
 13. Aye... Millwall were the better team... can''t complain.
 14. I was. I updated last night and set I normally wouldn''t bet on this game, but did a couple anyway. They both involved Norwich winning, so I lost, but I stick by my original point... this match was never going to be good for punters, so betting with emotion is a no no.
 15. I would also like to say that their use of London Calling as the prematch tune was inspired too.
 16. After being penned in for a good half hour after the final whistle today (I may be exaggerating), I''ve finally arrived the many miles to my home in East London. Some ratings:Forster - 7. Did what you''d expect, including a truly superb 2nd half save. Had no chance with either goal but did well throughout.R Martin - 6. A game of two halves. Excellent in the first, good covering, good attacking instincts. Very poor in the second and couldn''t buy a pass.Rose - 5. Poor. Always exposed but did not have a good game.Doc - 7. Series of good tackles, always looked in control, though ineffective when thrown up front.Nelson - 7. Very good game. Reads the game well, showed some good touches too.Lappin - 4. Really, really poor. Never in the right position, exposed Rose far too much, couldn''t pass, couldn''t cross. A very bad day for the king of spain.Rusty - 7 the only member of the midfield 4 to turn up.Smith - 6. Showed some promise when on the ball but lightweight, easily brushed off, afraid to go into the tackle.Wes - 5. Anonymous, and when he was on the ball he had his shirt torn from his body. C Martin - 6. Well taken freekick, and showed some good instincts defending set pieces, but otherwise a bit anonymous. Not helped by a nonexistant midfield.Cody - 6. Likewise. Ran a lot, tried, but didnt get a lot of service. The front 2 can''t make chances on their own. Zak - 6. Showed some good touches and was composed, but not on the pitch long enough to really make a difference.Macnamee - 7. Lots of promise. Crossed better than Lappin and Wes did all day. Oli - 6. Not a lot of impact. Other things:Millwall fans are quiet and chavvy. Lots of bottles thrown on the pitch. The halftime race with the kids was the most entertaining thing all afternoon.WHoever the gobby ginger guy was when we were locked outside at the end should learn to be quiet. What a tool. That is all.
 17.

I remember a come back we did agaisnt chelsea when they started singing "only one gordan ramsey" and we replied " WERE GOT A SUPER COOK YOUR GOT A RUSSIAN CROOK"
I remember it being sung as a response to "We''ve got Abramovic, you''ve got a drunken b***h"
For me, that was one of the best games ive been to for crowd banter. The chelsea fans were excellent, the city fans were having fun, the game itself was good. Bloody enjoyable afternoon, even if we did lose 3-1.
 18. Gents...Millwall vs NorwichThis is the first match I have been able to get to in some time, owing to my job here in London, so I plan to enjoy tomorrow regardless of any potential cash I can make. I do love a good away game...Down to the action. Norwich''s hardest game since Southampton and, without Grant Holt, arguably one we are not expected to win. The bookies disagree, and have priced us as favourites across the board, but not as strong as in recent games. We sit at 11/8 on Bet365 right now, which for a straight win, is probably good odds. We are still the form team and we will be expecting 3 points (but still likely to be pleased with 1). These games are pitfalls for professional punters and, in normal circumstances, I would avoid. Therefore, I''m approaching this game with a bit of anxiety, simply because as a gambler you shoud never, ever let emotion get into it. Do I think Norwich will win? Yes. But that is entirely down to my feelings, and not the stats. We''ve won once in London in about 21 attempts. Millwall are a good side and have an impressive home record. To me, betting wise, everything screams draw - but I struggle to ever back against us, simply because I don''t want to enjoy a bad result. It just feels...wrong.So I''m going against convention here. I''m going against my instinct, as I said I''d place a bet on all of our games, and this will be no different. For anyone interested, you can get the following impressive odds on Bet365:Norwich to win from behind - 10/1Norwich to win to nil - 11/4Norwich to keep a clean sheet - 7/4Our defence has been an absolute rock this last few months and I fancy this to continue, roared on by the estimated 3 and a half thousand fans there. 2 points on a win for norwich, without conceeding = £10 @ 11/4. Secondly, I''m going to put a straight 4 points on a norwich win - £20 @ 11/8. So if Norwich win tomorrow, I''m in. If they don''t... well I''ve just been too optimistic and we''ve been brought back down to earth. But as I said, this is the sort of game I woud avoid anyway.Current Bank: £208Current Exposure: £30DutchingThis is a bit different, and the more experienced punters on here will know what I''m talking about (as will anyone I''ve been talking to repeatedly this last week... this is old news). But basically, Dutching is backing more than 1 runner in a field so increase your odds of winning. Now, in League One, we know the title is coming either to Carrow Road or Elland Road. Barring a spectacular double collapse, that''s the ballgame. Yet, you can still bet on both teams and come away with a profit on this. Not a big one, mind..Leeds @ 1.83 - £57.74Norwich @ 2.5 - £42.26Your stake = £100. Returns if either team wins League One - £105.66.Now, if this had been done a month ago the returns would have been much higher. But the fact is its a 5% return on an almost guaranteed outcome. Better than you''ll get in 3 months with a bank, and an example of the ways pro punters use every weapon in their arsenal to bring home some profits. Anyway, just thought you''d be interested. Here''s hoping for a good day tomorrow. I''ll try not to get my head kicked in.
 19.

Not sure Spillane is ready to play centre half, he''s not the biggest physically and as a 20 year he is still learning the game, at present his best position is right back. Doherty has been our best centre half this season barring the opening day of the season where just about everybody on the pitch didn''t perform and I would say Nelson struggled more so that day, however Doherty is surely 1 of the clubs highest earners and i''m sure his contract situation will be reviewed at the end of the season, would be a real shame if he was to go because as i''ve said he is our best centre half.If anybody was to go it would be Michael Nelson, he has done a very good job over the past 2 months but his lack of pace, particularly acceleration and his non existent distribution will really get punished in the Championship, there has been a few signs in recent games, the Walsall goal last week was dreadful defending, he firstly misjudged the bounce and then was woefully done for pace by Deeney who isn''t lightning quick. Doherty, Askou, Whitbread and then Spillane for cover would be sufficient and covers all bases next season in my opinion.
Is that why Doherty has played in 3 of our 4 league defeats so far this season and has been looking to chalk up a 4th alongside Nelson in recent weeks? [:^)]
You''ve said this a few times now. Are you seriously suggesting that he was responsible for 2 defeats that occurred before Lambert took charge, under the hopeless Gunn and Butterworth, and then the defeat at Leeds? Don''t abuse statistics. You should know better. Saying he is singularly responsible for 3 of our 4 defeats this season is disingenuous as best and absolutely moronic at worst. And the thing is, I think you know you''re doing it. You''re using dodgy statistics to reinforce this opinion you have of the Doc, an opinion I accept but disagree with. If you want to make your point, actually make it - don''t hide behind "he was in 3 of our 4 losing teams this year" and pretend it actually means something. Correlation does not equal causation. You know this. Don''t pretend otherwise.
 20. I find it funny that HC calls those who defend Doherty ''mindless zombies'' without any self awareness or sense of irony.
 21. Jim Gannon is quality, I really want to see him do well. Very, very entertaining and a good manager to boot.
 22. Bordeaux did me out of a hundred quid a couple of weeks ago - top of the league, unbeaten all season and I had that much on them to win. They were 1-0 when someone got sent off and they went on to draw. Tossers.
 23.
Norwich vs HartlepoolFor me, I''m looking at two bets. First of all, goalscorers. For some reason, Grant Holt is still listed on Bet365, so try to avoid that one. You can get a very attractive 11/10 on Chris Martin to score at anytime, and in the form he is in, I fancy him to carry on his goalscoring run. At just over evens, you''re doubling your money, and I''m going to put 2 units on this - £10, Chris Martin to score, anytime @ 11/10. Secondly, I''m looking at Half-Time/Full-Time winners. Norwich are notorious for coming out strong in the second half, which can leave it to be a risky game putting your money on them to be leading at Half Time. Saturday, however, I''m prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. The weak nature of this Hartlepool team, unlike Brentford last week, leaves it much more likely that an early breakthrough will be made. So for my second bet, I''m going for 4 units - £20 on Norwich winning HT/FT at 4/5. Bank: £200Current Exposure: £30
One from two, and a profit. Not a big profit, but still. Chris Martin, after putting in so much over the last few weeks, had an off day, but we got the goals we needed nontheless. I''ll let him off for this one. However, the HT/FT bet was a winner, winning me £18. This wipes out the £10 goalscorer loss, and gives me a small profit. Therefore, the bank for the next match stands at £208. How did everyone else do?
