1. How many teams have finished in the top 4 with a negative goal difference? Norwich 92-93 (-4) Everton 04-05 (-1) Interesting, we we''re top at Christmas also with a negative goal difference. The next season (93-94) we finished 12th but our GD was (+4). When we win, it''s usually only by the single goal (8 times this season out of our 12 wins)
2. Has he actually signed for anyone yet? Maybe we should find out first before calling him Andy "Greedy" Marshall
3.
When you look at the goals that we conseded and who they were against then you can get a better overall picture of how good/bad our defence is. In both fixtures against each club we conceded: Man C = 11 Arsenal and Blackburn = 5 Sunderland, Man U and Liverpool = 4 Chelsea, Bolton, Swansea, Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Wolves, Spurs and Fulham = 3 Wigan, Stoke, QPR and WBA = 2 IMO I would take conceding that amount of goals to those teams, with two exceptions being Man C (should be around 5) and Blackburn (2/3 but they are religated so it wont matter next season)
Thats good table..if we had been better defensively against Man City, our GD would be much better, and could have moved us up 1/2 places up table
4. If you also look back at the goals conceded, there we''re lots from stupid mistakes. I know ever team will make them, but Ward against Liverpool was shocking 3 goals. The beginning of the season we had 5 pens against us, and then only conceded another 1? If we didn''t have Ruddy that could of been another 20+ goals. Agree goals for are kind of irrelevent. Especially when you see the Newcastle / Villa comparison
5.
UEA is nuts, you would have to arrange public transport or road infrustructure. This is very very expensive. For example Bluewater shopping center, gets around 80k visitors over a day, the transport infrastructure cost £500 million. The city of Norwich simply will not pay for that. What would happen would be a large stadium, without adequate methods to get there, and would mean less fans overall. It costs twice as much to drive, then add parking on top what a rip off visting NCFC would become. UEA would be a very bad move for fans
I agree the costs would be massive. My point is that there is something called a section 106 agreement. If NCFC were to build new stand, then they would have to pay for any improvements to roads etc. Therefore not Norwich City Council
6. Living in Colchester where they have a new ground on the outskirts of town (as most will know from our trip there a couple of years back). Although there attendances were never high. Being out on the edge of town is just stupid. When you see after our games he crowd move in all areas, down Carrow Road, up into the city centre, train station, back up Carrow hill towards City Hall. Would anyone really like to be out on UEA campus? No thanks from me, i''m sure several fans who catch train would also be very unhappy with this move as its currently ideal location. Carrow Road is where we should be, so end of story!
7.

Whatever feasibility study he has asked the UEA to carry out, it will be connected with expansion at Carrow Road.
I don''t get the logic of that. Has the UEA some particular expertise in stadium construction? It is famous for its climate research department and its creative writing centre, but building projects? If the club wanted a feasibiity study on expanding Carrow Road it would normally hire experts in the shape of a development/construction company. If it is involving the UEA I would have thought that is because moving there is an option (however unlikely) that is being considered by the club.
Or a Quantity Surveyor...like myself, who is able to calculate current construction costs (currently low = obviously due to economy)
8. Just beacuse he has asked UEA to carry out feasibility, that does not mean moving away from Carrow Road. It could be a Feas report on he purchase of he road behind city stand, and providing detailed costs/design of the stadium expansion
9. I like the idea what Tigers did at Leicester. I think we shall have to build on Carrow Road. There is still access round past the new flats, and sure they could re-arrange road behind barclay to the other section of Carrow Road
10. Cheers for posting...brilliant to hear. Like everyone at NCFC, it''s going to be a very sad day when he does leave us. The bloke is a living legend at our club, along with Holt. Sometimes you don''t realise what you''ve got until its gone. I remember Iwan''s last game against Preston, and I can admit, there was a slight tear in my eye that day he left us.
11. Definatley a new full back that could fill in both sides - Kyle Naughton? Replacement for Crofts..thought he has been out of his depth this year, and we need to have more quality/back up. Snodgrass Replacement for the forever injured Vaughan Not a signing but need Whitbread signed up for extension. I think Bennett and Ayala will be good centre back pairing when boh fit
12. I work in construction as a Surveyor, and take into consideration what McNally and Bowkett say about moving old fans in city stand. If over the summer we are to build corner infill around hotel is phase 1...I would then look to do the following if we are too get our capacity to 38,000 plus. Phase 2. Remove roof from south stand, and add further second tier (4,000). This would then be able to accomodate city stand supporters. I would suggest a construction type similar to the one shown for Fulham, which would increase floor area for offices, Wc''s, potetial Norwich City Museum. If this is to be carried out then the club need to think soon...see attached link. http://www.broadlandhousing.org/new_build/carrow_quarter.php Phase 3. This would involve demolition to existing city stand, constructing second tier stand as Fulham example, with corner infills between barclay and river. I believe this would bring capacity to 38-40k. The Carrow Quarter is currently in for planning and if we are to develop south stand this development could take up space for our own plans.
13. What about Aidy Boothroyd...now at Northampton Tony Adams Paul Ince Phil Brown George Burnley Gary Megson Owen Coyle Just a few managers who were touted as the next big thing (maybe not Megson), or had success at a club...Coyle should certainly know the grass is not always greener, Phil Brown got too big for his boots, Tony Adams was out of his depth, Ince was useless, Boothroyd has gone down three divisions since Watford days.
14. Last night was bad. But no one seems to suggest or give credit to Sunderland for their tactics...like marking Wes out of the game, applying pressure whenever he had the ball. Scoreline looks worse too, first goal was excellent, second was awful defending, and third was a mix up, which could have been dealt with. Lets not make one of our best players over the last few years a scapegoat!
15.
Obviously didn''t see the fight then. Yet another ridiculous thread, oh...... and in the wrong place.
16. PL has said no to anymore CB or defenders. But we have no problems scoring goals, its leaking them in at the back thats the issue. Vaughan on way back. Centre Mid that will get 5-6 goals would be good. Don''t see that happening with Fox, Johnson, Wes, Surman etc
17. At start of season I put us down to do following in last 18 games W3 D9 L6 That would give us 43 after our current start. I actually predicted 41 points at start of season, so we are currently better than my prediction!
18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxVy4pOs5M0&feature=related Remember this Mr Barton? What a joke!
19.
From minute 1 it was clear we were going to get nothing tonight. Backing off so much it was almost a training groung exercise for Spurs. It was a shambles all round and a miracle we survived the first half with a clean sheet! I dont get what Lamberts tactics were tonight, was it a defend to the death exercise or were we just clueless?? God knows, but it was by far Tottenhams easiest 3 points so far this season, they barely broke a sweat. Every city player contributed nothing but garbage tonight. A repeat perfomance like this next week will really take the wind out the sails so I pray that this is a one of. Urrgghh.
20. The way we play is excellent. I would like to get one at some point, as its another monkey off our back. It could be at the back that keeps us up. Look at how many clean sheets Swansea have already, and their players are no different to ours!!
21.
Ok - just read on another thread a big a month December is going to be. I hate these guess the points total for X month. How many?
