1. ''Glen or Glenda'', starring the manager in both roles (work that one out)! Alternatively, Andrew and Sharon Turner star in ''Brief Encounter''. ''Peter''s Friends'' (which ones will he install on the board) and finally....... ''20 000 Leagues under the Championship'' !   I am curious, yellows.
2.
Indiana Wynn-Jones and the Boardroom of Doom
This could have a sequel, ''Raiders of the Lost Plot''
3.

And David Villa ?
Come on, now you''re just being silly... I think the best we can realistically expect to see a Luque + Ameobi strikeforce this season. I would think that Villa probably wouldn''t want to drop down to the Championship.
Probably not.
4.
If I was to create an optomistic conspiracy theory it would be this (and yes I have been thinking about this for a while): Ameobi has wanted out for some time. He wanted Premiership football as a priority but nothing more than basement relegation fodder clubs have come in for him. I would imagine that he wants a buy-out / relegation release clause for joining one of those. Hull and Stoke are hardly going to gamble on that, West Brom can probably feel that they can attract as good a prospect without the price/wage tag (no insult to the man meant). So here the situation is, Ameobi is going to have to look at the possibility of dropping a level. This may be a risk but it may also not be. There are players that have needed the drop down a league to re-ignite their careers. Earnshaw who lit the league up was snapped back up by a premiership team, and at the time could have potentially re-joined the premiership with Norwich had the performance of the team met his goalscoring ability. So the first person he asks his agent to speak to is Roeder. Why? Because Roeder may a) want the player b) be able to asist recomending him to another team etc. Roeder inquires about a price and it is too high so agrees to help Ameobi and announces that Ameobi is a hot prospect for any team in this league. Roeder wants Ameobi but can not justify spending that much money on one player with a whole squad infront of him to build. After a couple more weeks and Ameobi is no closer to a move the agent contacts Roeder once more and explains that Ameobi is willing to drop his wage demands but wants certain things to be assured to him ie buy out clause, if Roeder was to accept this in principle then the agent could work on the situation to a) incurage Newcastle to drop the asking price b) incurage the Norwich board to give Roeder the little extra cash it would require to get the two to meet in the middle. To do this they needed an offer to be accepted by another club, another club playing at the same level as Norwich - so why not one with a lot of money and who happen to be the main rivals in Ipswich. Official news breaks out - if the board sanction a move for Ameobi they would have a striker who is a pretty sure bet at this level and have stolen one over Ipswich, two factors in trying to get the moaning manority back on the team. The supposed injury could tempt Newcastle to drop the asking price as it will mean selling him in January when his stock will have dropped by a considerable amount and when he could speak to any club about a free move in the summer. I think it is funny that it is so detailed in its description of the injury - how often do you see that? Normally they fail a medical and you hear no more, but to fail a medical and then to suggest he could be fit by a date that is not even two weeks away?!! Surely they could wait that long for him to be fit again? And to compare him to a 30-something! That, like I said, is an optimistic conspiracy theory.
I still think in his heart Shola would like to work with Roeder and Clark again so you could well be right that his agent is trying to push through a move to us. It''s more a case of does Glenn want him at the price we''d have to pay? I would assume he may not blink until 11.59 on Monday 1st September then sign Ameobi either at rock bottom price or on loan. But if we''ve already got this other mystery targetman (Iversen- Bishop) by then, Glenn may not go in for Shola at all.
5.
Staffordshire bus crash: one dead, two critical, over 60 walking wounded. Press Office gal for Alton Towers (which the victims had just left): "Alton Towers have reacted positively to this event.  We have sent two of our minibuses to the scene and have reopened our canteen and they will all be given bacon rolls and fries and other refreshments free of charge   I would like to stress that this incident did not occur at Alton Towers itself and that the coach company concerned is is no way connected to the Alton Towers organisation.  Although the accident happened in Alton it is more than half a mile away from the theme park itself." Glad to hear it was an event![:#]
Unbelievable. Surely tragedy or disaster would be better words to choose. Still,. glad to see the minibuses are being given free bacon rolls, as this is probably cheaper than petrol so AT''s profit margins won''t be so badly hit.
6. Isn''t this thread meant to be about Roeder''s comments regarding a new striker? There have been three pages of mindless slanging and it''s starting to irritate me that if I want to look for intelligent debate or latest information on this messageboard, it never seems to be where you expect it to be, namely when you click on a thread that interests you. So regarding Roeder''s comments, I think it''s obvious he sees Cureton/Lupoli/Koroma as competing for one place, mainly because he (rightly) realises that playing two of them won''t get enough goals to do significantly better than last season. He is obviously banking on signing someone who will easily score 20 plus in this league. And then to follow his ''two for one'' policy we ought to see another (similar type of) striker arrive before August 31st to give further competition. Glenn still doesn''t know his best team but I admire the way he only seems to sign a certain type of player - ones with known quality and those admired by respected figures in the game.
7. It seems Kennedy''s nickname at Celtic is JFK (John Freakin'' Kennedy).  So we''ve signed OJ and JFK. What''s going on in GR''s head?!
8.
i notise Barnsly being metioned reguarly. What i want to know is WHY ARNT THEY DOWN ALREADY. We always manage to beat them at least 3-1 home and away. So where the hell do they get there points from to finish mid-table every season.
Not every Champ side managed to beat both Liverpool and Chelsea last season. Wasn''t their home league record incredibly good until we went and spoilt it - we are their nemesis, for some reason, much in the same way as we always lose to Sheff Weds, no matter what!
9. If Saints'' situation doesn''t improve they could well go down - all their players have left, or have decided on burglary as a more lucrative career than being on the Southampton payroll. Swansea and Barnsley probably too good to go down. Blackpool look like they may have peaked already in this division and Doncaster may find it tough over the course of a whole season like scunthorpe did. So my predictions are: 22nd - Blackpool 23rd - Southampton 24th - Doncaster (not Neil)
10. See previous posts - there are several already about Jay Simpson
11. As has been mentioned in a previous thread, Roeder is definitely considering Hales, as well as Walcott and Sheringham..... ....as good places for a day out in Norfolk.
12.
Maybe Jay Simpson from Arsenal? I think I remember seeing him score against Barnet the other day, as well as Barazite.
Was PFA League One player of the season last year on loan at Millwall. Likely to be wanting to step up a level too.
13. 18 year old Arsenal youngster, 6''2" Dutch striker, sounds very plausible! http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com
14. Waghorn site quotes Roeder saying we''re signing an ''unknown'' 6 foot striker in next 48 hrs, possibly from Arsenal. Any ideas folks?
15. Matty did well for us when he first joined last season, even keeping Hux out and contributing to our winning run. I don''t think he''s quite recovered from pantsgate, that''s all.  He needs mental focus and playing at left back against Spurs isn''t probably the easiest thing, I think we should get behind him as he needs his confidence boosting, he''ll be feeling bad enough even though it''s just a friendly.
16.
http://www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~1352640,00.html Who does this include? Bell? Lupolli? Kennedy? Two new strikers?
Nail on head - I can''t imagine Roeder wants to use Cureton except as a sub in later stages of game and I''m sure two strikers are needed. Lupoli seems to have worked well on the left for Derby, I can see Wes being more central behind the striker(s). The only thing about Roeder''s comments about being 5 short is that he may not have thought he was that far short before kick off tonight and he probably now feels the ones who didn''t play may have done a better job. (Or he now thinks he needs more players than he did earlier today). He has been known to say things as a kneejerk reaction that aren''t always 100% true (eg Lupoli not signing). We may see another centre back on loan to cover for Doc too.
17. If you watch Rams'' Goal of the season 06/07 on the same link you''ll see Lupoli setting up Steve Howard with a perfect cross after weaving past the Wolves defence on the left. Quality! and very Huckerbyesque, dare I say it!
18.
Slappy 6 made me laugh......... "hey ful ok i werent slaggin ya just cant believe we were making the biggest comeback since lazarus and that to$$er had the gaul to run his mouth where courtesey of his shi$% play we almose sent us packing to the fizzy pop. i''m just happy to see that prat go. need to send jr a warning that he dont stab him in the back as he tries to cover for that prat". Can anyone translate cockney??
A translation from cockney to posh Victorian Gentleman: ''Kind sir I had no intention of berating you for your comments, it''s just that in the case of Mr Stefanovic he really should consider the implications of what he says. We were, as an association football club, mounting a huge rearguard action at the end of the season past. But his appalling performance almost ruined everything and nearly saw us relegated to the league they call ''The Coca Cola Champonship''. I''m delighted he''s leaving, but i hope that young Master Ozemusi realises he may have to tidy up afer some of his defensive experiments go wrong.''
19. There''s also the fact, as mentioned on myfootballwriter, that Roy Hodgson is a friend of Delia''s, has been a guest in her box at Carrow Rd, and may easily have personally introduced Stefanovic to Delia. As for Glenn''s comments, surely he''s just thanking the directors for backing him in this summer''s transfer window, keeping their promise from when he was appointed? But as far as which phrases/quotes the press office choose in their blurb - sounds like propaganda - they probably had plenty other quotes but chose the ones which fitted their pro board agenda. Not surprisingly. So I doubt that Dejan or GR were coerced into any kind of statement - I don''t think anyone could with those two anyway!
20.
Good news, the squad is shaping up quite nicely now.  With Bell the midfield is sorted with good competition for places. Stefanovic is a good experienced CB, plus I think Shackell always plays better with that sort of player alongside him.  No nothing about Omozusi though.  Just waiting for the strikers.  Andy Carroll and Arturo Lupoli would be fantastic.
Isn''t Stefanovic left sided just like Shackell? So maybe Doc will be his CB partner unless someone else turns up! Or maybe Shax will be off to Wolves?? I think Roeder will keep him though and rotate the squad a bit, try to keep people happy. A difficult thing to achieve though - look what happened to our form last season when he started tinkering with the starting line up! I''m sure there''s something to be said in this division for keeping the same starting eleven if possible for as long as possible - if it''s a winning team.
21. Interesting - keep up the good work at Asda. Keep your eye out for lost looking Italians in the pasta section!
22. How about we run out to ''Dear Prudence'' from the Beatles''  White Album?
23. Maybe it''s one of the Gorleston players - Doncaster might have been over there sorting out the paperwork today and felt like a couple of pints (and a flutter on the horses) on his way home through Yarmouth. Kronenbourg though? I saw him in the Fat Cat once, thought he liked his ales.
24.
We seek him here, we seek him there, Those fans seek him everywhere. Is he in heaven? — Is he in hell? That damned, elusive, Pimpernell[;)]
We are to assume here that you are drawing parallels between the legendary 18th century ''Scarlet Pimpernell'' (real identity Sir Percy Blakeney, an unassuming English aristocrat) and a potential investor in Norwich City FC. You could mean Peter Cullum, he seems quite a normal and unassuming, decent chap in day to day life, (certainly from the way he appears in the press) yet he''s actually got another side to his character, the ruthless ''King of Deals'' who hoovers up companies for breakfast by moving in at their weakest moment. Alternatively, you may be referring to another mystery investor who we don''t know about yet - if such a person does exist, then they truly are Pimpernell like in their ability to slip under everybody''s radar whilst holding talks about investment in NCFC - no mean feat in the current climate. But Delia did say investment was on it''s way, and she couldn''t have meant Cullum as nothing had been agreed then (on the 25th June at the Show) or since. It may also explain her silence - or her orders to be silent from the rest of the board - since the Cullum deal collapsed. She can''t explain why the Cullum proposal wasn''t accepted because something else is afoot. If you imagine our current squad as French aristocrats facing the guillotine that is relegation to League One, then someone Pimpernell like is definitely required to spring them from jail by creating the funds for investment in players.
