Former NCFC Player May Be On His Way Back
Mutley replied to * $@[) *'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

So with regards to Ched, what would you do if you were the Sheffield United board. I have no inside knowledge relating to Cheds contract, however I would bet my house that he has a relegation release clause written into it. It may or may not be associated by a minimum buy out clause. However if it hasn`t then alarm bells would be screaming if I were a blade. He cost them £3 million a couple of seasons ago. If they do go down then potentially he could walk for free. Therefore with the league table as it stands I wouldn`t be surprised to see the board cut their losses and accept a loan with a view to a permenant transfer. I reckon a bid of £750,000 to £1 million might just do it???
Someone plays a tad too much Football Manager. This so called "relegation release clause", if put into a contract, the release is a set amount. It doesn''t automatically mean he is released. It means to be released this is the set amount a team would pay.
I can assure you Lincoln I haven`t played football manager for over a decade and in my defence I did state in the green text that it may or may not be tied in to a minimum release fee. Either way we are looking for a quality striker and Ched is that, and fits what we are looking for strong, quick can play off a target man. Coupled with that, Sheff Utd are in all sorts of trouble and have got an horrendous run in till the end of the season. I think we could pick up a real gem at a very good price. -

Striker possibly on the way in
Mutley replied to Raymond De Waard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
How about Derek Riordan at Hibernian. Ok so hes a bit of a bad boy and didn`t do much at Celtic but his scoring record at a mediocre Hibernian side has been very good. Good strong physical player. Resigned for Hibs in 2008 (so prob coming towards the end of his current contract??) Any thoughts??? -
I really don''t want to get on the guys back as it''s pretty obvious he is having a torrid time. But I was only thinking the other day he has a touch of the Luke Chadwick''s / Peter thorne''s about him. Millwall fans seemed to really rate him but if he gets another injury in the next couple of months I think we should cut our losses
-
Askou has decent positional sense and is aerially very strong, having said that he hasn''t got much pace. Here lies the problem. Watford played quick counter attacking pacy football. I`m a little worried that Ward and esp Whitbread will be injured or in need of match time to sharpen up for not insignificant amounts of time this season

Is there anyone promising at Brentford, that the Spillane deal could be being used as a make weight????
-
I would be surprised if that was the figure. Wolves paid saints £1.2M for Surman and he has hardly shone. Think Mick McCarthy will have decided to take a hit to get him off their books. After all he only played 9 - 10 games last season. Having said that maybe Surman is a preliminary make weight for a January raid for Chrissy Martin????
-
With Wycombe being relegated are we offering Gill as a make weight for any of their players???

League one play offs

Huddy for me all the way. Not to far from me and the Galpharn stadium is fairly tidy. Lots of away days for us Yorkshire "exiles" next season.[<:o)][<:o)] -
I fully expect the fire sale to begin shortly. Anyone worth taking a cheeky punt on??
-
Well what with the Carlisle game coming up I thought to hell with it lets have a bit of nostalgia. This was 10 years ago, but brilliant does not come close to describing it it. Our most famous goals were against Bayern, Carlisles most important goal of all time was against Plymouth. The team that ended up getting relegated that season was Scarborough, and they have never been heard of since!!! This league has been a struggle at times, but it`s been full of some great footballing teams and proper fans: (well apart from the hooligans you can see running onto the pitch on the clip below, I think they should be banned personally!!![;)]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KejwqhLDeOs

Paul Crichton and Norwich City part ways
Mutley replied to Pete Raven's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Didn`t Crichton have a "serious issue" when he was at York?? I`m sure he ended up having to leave very quickly under a cloud. Something kicked off between him, the fans and / or chairman. Does anyone know the real story. At one stage someone was threatening to take legal action I think?? -
Hi guys, Sorry if this has been posted already, but just come across the walsall highlights (and the Swindon highlights too!!) Enjoy!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8484088.stm
