There was quite a few Leicester fans who laughed at us for signing Dion as well. Sometimes certain clubs can bring the best out of a player.

Loans will always be made later on as the teams will want to see what youngsters are surplus. They may need to bring in a new right back for example, if they fail to do this and have loaned out their best young right back they are short. This is why loans won''t happen until later in the transfer window.

Like Kris Commons he couldn''t agree personal terms with Forest on a new contract and therefore decided to leave. Wheter this was to do with wages or other things is something you can''t be certain about.

I heard the rumour about Clingan from a Forest fan a week ago. Although he said he thought it would be highly unlikely that he would join us. That combined with the abuse I''d get for posting it meant I didn''t! Although tbh I wasn''t expecting it to happen after what the Forest fan had said.

I keep hearing "good squad player" "average player" "plays like a crab" alot. Not overally impressed with this signing but we''ll see.

When done well it improves the games but we have had some games when it has gotten silly with the amount of times 2 balls came back.

Andy Carroll has an attitude problem and from the Leeds'' fans I''ve spoken to they say Beckford isn''t that special.

Renton looked like he had poetential (sp?) so could come good and from what I''ve heard there are much better players that haven''t been handed contracts than Damon Lathrope

In this day and age you need loans as well as perms. I don''t have any problem with having the maximum 5 in the match day squad come a Saturday. Its a less expensive gamble than signing a player. If you sign a player and he is awful you are stuck with him until you can sell him or his contract is up, with a loanee after there time is up you can have nothing to do with them and you can even send them back if you have agreed that with the parent club.

Added to the fact he doesn''t exist. Brazillian players cannot be sold until they are 18 anymore. Not sure if thats to anywhere but it is for sales to Europe.

[/quote]You must have a lot of faith in a midfield comprising Pattison, Fotheringham and Russell.  I believe the midfield is one of the main areas we need to address.[/quote]I only rate Rusty out of them but, assuming the Doc doesn''t sign, we will have only 1 center back. We haven''t got a decent left winger. And we have two poor strikers in Martin and Cureton. I think we should try and address these before the central midfield which, whilst not being anything special, is adequete.

We seem to be linked with alot of midfielders, despite this being the position we need to attend to least. (Bar goalkeeper).

I''ve been reading these boards and similar for a few seasons and preseason is always silly season in these parts.
