1. Easy to park near the ground as it''s one of those new stadiums built outside the City. Unfortunately that obviously means there''s little in the way of pubs without walking for ages, but you can get overpriced lager in the ground which was a bit of a consolation for me when i went! The view was superb, but i was about three quarters of the way back, though the Coventry fans are awful and don''t seem to sing at all. Your lot should feel quite at home! ;o) But seriously, the acoustics didn''t impress me. Seems far too echoey to really build the noise much. But yeah, lots of stupid chav kids looking for a fight after the game, especially in and around the large Tescos.
2. And that''s the ten thousand dollar question, isn''t it Flashheart? ''Tis a conundrum. But as a supporter, whatever happens, all i can be sure of is that i''ll still be there singin'' and enjoyin'' myself as best i can. Kudos for the username, by the way!
3. I very much doubt a man like Harris would be wasting his time on NCFC if Delia still had her little list of criteria for investment...
4. Fair play then, Flashheart. But i do get worried by all these people who''d not renew or bother going just because we got relegated. Especially when they have the cheek to call themselves true supporters too. Lousy lot of Johnny-come-latelys. As for the Roeder thing, i just can''t see it happening. Honestly, could we afford to sack him, even if the board wanted to? I very much doubt it. I fear Ellis is right, we just need to be patient and hope someone comes in. Hopefully i''m wrong and something can be done, but i just can''t see it.
5. So, can one of you actually answer Ellis'' question? Because i''ve got to say i''m a bit confused by it all too. As for Tranmere away, yeah, i''ll look forward to it, should relegation happen. Because i''ll still be supporting the club and going to the games, regardless of what divison we''re playing in, because supporting NCFC goes beyond the current owner, manager, board, players, etc. Presumably, you''ll be sitting at home listening on the radio (at best) and thinking about what a good fan you are, yeah?
6. Marshall - 6 - Made one good save, in particular. Semi - 3 - Hopeless today. He doesn''t get forward enough and just can''t defend to save his life. Bertrand - 1 - Even worse than Semi, he was out of position far too often, never tight enough to his man, and desperately needs to look up the word ''overlap'' in the dictionary. Hopeless in both defense and attack (because he never does!) but maybe, in all fairness, let down by Bell''s failure to track back. Still, he looks a different player from the one we saw last season. Docherty - 7 - MOTM i reckon. Fair enough, we shipped three and the defense looked shakey at times as a whole, but for me it was all due to the weakness in the fullbacks. He put in a superb shift in the second half, and looked gutted at the end. Tries his balls off and that''s all i''m asking at the moment. Kennedy - 6 - Average, all round. Not really at fault for anything, but hardly one of his better games. Pattison - 7 - Best player on the pitch in the first half, he created every decent chance we had, including the goal with a superb little ball through to Fozzy. God knows why he was moved into the centre, because he was hopeless in the second half. If it''s not broken, don''t fix it Roeder. Fozzy - 6 - For me, he had one of his better games, but that''s not saying much. Probably didn''t deserve all the stick he got when he went off though, and we certainly played better with him on in the first half. Bell - 5 - Did well in the first half but seemed to be marked out of the game in the second and might as well have not even been on. Needs to track back and help out the left-back more often though, and his failure to do that cost us twice. Still, he''s got a lovely pass on him. Clingan - 6 - MOTM?! The sponsors must be having a laugh. He ran around a lot, broke up the Swansea attacks a lot in the first half, and started off some good moves with some decent passes, but gave the ball away far too often. Not one of his better days, but maybe, in fairness, that''s because i expect more from him. Lita - 5 - Wasted far too many chances in the first half, and really needs to work on how to keep a header down. Got no service whatsoever in the second half though. Lupoli - 6 - Took the goal well, which puts him above Lita, but didn''t really do a whole lot else. Probably isn''t entirely match fit just yet though. Needs to stay on his feet more often and stop the diving. Cureton - 4 - Did absolutely nothing except waste the one chance he had, after Doc''s lovely cut back from the right wing. Like the other forwards though, got very little service. Hoolahan - 5 - Thought he gave the ball away far too often after coming on, which seems at odds with what most others are saying. He also needs to learn to shoot, because he managed to create a couple of good chances, only to fluff them with weak shots or poor, hurried passes. Looked very low on confidence, understandably. And is also just about the most one footed player i''ve ever seen. Roeder - 2 - Same old. Made a good decision in picking Lupoli to start, but keeps playing people out of position, for some bizarre reason. What the hell he was doing playing Bell on the left and Hoolahan on the right is beyond me, because that''s the most obvious mistake i''ve ever seen on a football pitch. And even when playing someone out of position does work (Pattison, for example) he changes it about and ruins any good work he and the player have done previously. Overall - 6 - Played well at times, and were very good in the first half, but the defense just kept switching off. The fullbacks absolutely MUST be changed, because everything got passed them. No real cutting edge upfront, and the midfield looked content to just pass the ball amongst themselves in the second half. Against an organised side we look hopeless.
7. I saw Zema Abbey have a good game once too, but he definitely wasn''t a good player.
8. I don''t see how not contributing to the constant whining means Dicky is happy with the current situation. I''m not happy with the displays, the players, the league position, or any of it, but i''ll still go, and i''ll still be supporting Norwich. Because i''m not just in it to get something back out. I support Norwich because i was raised to, and because i love the football club, watching the games, the atmosphere, and the brilliant times and memories i''ve had from it. If i have to sit through years of rubbish for the next one, i will. Supporting NCFC goes beyond the manager, the players, and the board. It''s something i''ll do regardless of who''s in charge, because i know damn well i''ll be around a long time after they will, supporting the club through thick, OR thin, not just when it''s good. If i was solely bothered about results and doing well, i''d support Man Utd. City ''til i die, an'' all that. Back to the days of 13,000 averages! I do wonder, at times, just how many of the posters on this board are part of the extra 10,000 we suddenly gained after the playoff season...
9. Did we give Pattison stick though? Fair enough, he got a bit of deserved abuse on message boards such as this, but on the pitch he was welcomed with rapturous applause, if i remember rightly. So maybe our Ipswich supporting friend has a point... It was a silly thing for Norris to do, but we''re blowing this well out of proportion. I daresay if it was a City player, we''d all agree with that statement.
10. I''ve never understood the vitriol for Earnie. He scored a hat full while he was here and always seemed a good player. Fair enough, he wasn''t the hardest worker, but i don''t remember anyone complaining at the time. Christ, it''s not like he came here, got a high wage, and was useless, is it? He was paid to score goals, and he did that very well for us. I''m not exactly sure what it is some people seem to think he still owes/owed the club. His form and goal-scoring record in a City shirt earnt him his move away from a poor side. It''s just a shame for him he''s followed it up with 2 other poor sides. Can''t blame the man for trying. Or is it the fact that he didn''t develop some everlasting passion for the club in his time here? God knows why that''d happen, as it very rarely does in football these days. Thankfully for us, it did with Huckerby, but it''s being so rare makes it so special. Furthermore, simply wanting to earn more money hardly puts him in a minority, does it? As for Preston, it sounds like it''ll be too useless teams on the pitch on Saturday, but i reckon we''ll beat them at home. Can''t say i''m particularly worried by Brown though.
11.
Three Norwich City directors approach a very honest club chairman. They want to buy a player for 300,000 pounds. Each director pays 100,000 pounds each. They leave the negotiations happy that they now finally have a target man for their club. After they have left the meeting the chairman suddenly realizes that the player is actually only worth 250,000 pounds. He sends an agent to return the 50,000 pounds to Norwich City. The agent thinks "boll*cks to this I can''t work out how to split 50,000 pounds into three, I''ll pocket 20,000 myself and give them back 10,000 each." So each director has paid 90,000 pounds, as they originally paid 100,000 but got 10,000 back. Three directors paying 90,000 each is 270,000 pounds, the agent pocketed 20,000 pounds, which makes 290,000, where is the other 100,000 pounds? Works better with 3 blokes and a 30 quid telly, but you wanted it NCFC related.
I''m ashamed to admit it, but that had me stumped for ages, hah. But then, i have had a few beers.
12. A wonderful idea Bly. As if attracting players to Norfolk isn''t difficult enough already. Think, then type, m''boy.
13. Why is it that showing our appreciation for Huckerby, and supporting City are somehow mutually exclusive? It''s a 90 minute match for heavens sake. I''ll sing a few songs for the best player we''ve had in recent years, to show him he''s missed, and spend the rest of the game supporting the team. It''s not an either-or situation people.
14. Note to self: learn to type! Obviously, that was meant to read ''transfer''.
15. Lerner didn''t need to pay off a 20 million debt, and didn''t include an optional, and technically entirely independent, 20 million pound transfer fund in that deal. The club alone was valued by Delia at £16 million, i believe it was. The other £40,000,000 was split between the debts and Callum''s optional tarnsfer fund. Get over it.
16. Our ''rightful place in the Premier''? Sorry, have i mistaken the Pinkun forum for a Wolves one? What next, banners saying how we''ve been ''let down again''?
17. Mike Milligan, if his actions on the pitch count for anything! ;o)
18. We all make the odd mistake, Mister Chops. As i admitted earlier on, it''s been a long day!
19. My, didn''t well all leave our senses of humour at work today? Lacking somewhat in originality by now, but it still made me chuckle Beaker.
20. Err, make that ''time for some research''. It''s been a long day!
21. Didn''t it happen recently at Bournemouth? Though it could''ve been some other lowly side, Exeter maybe. They got a new, rich owner in, and he sold the ground, took as much money out of the club as he could, then sold it on. The last i heard (though i have to admit to not being particuarly knowledgeable or in-the-know on this one!) the club were still renting the ground from whoever it was the now previous owner sold it to, and will be for a long time. Hmm, hardly specific, i admit. Time for some reason, i think. A-Googlin'' i go...
22. I agree with the OP, personally. Being there and showing your support for your club doesn''t have any bearing on your feelings about how the club is run. Atleast, not for me, anyway, and thankfully a few others it appears. For me the two are totally unrelated. I will go to the games and sing for the City regardless of how well we''re doing, how well we''re run, or who the owners, players or manager is. This is my football club, and i won''t let anything ruin it for me.
23. I''ll be cheering my club regardless of result, display, league position or division. Why? Because i''m a supporter, and i love this football club. That''s not to say i won''t be disappointed at the result and display Tuesday (i''m resigned to a defeat), or the final league position come May, but will it keep me away or make me boo, or sit quietly in my seat, seething? Not a chance. Norwich through and through, an'' all that.
24. On the contrary, i have ambition, especially with this football club. I, as do all of us, want City to do as well as possible. The Championship winning season was the most successful time i''ve had as a supporter of this club and i enjoyed every minute of it, and i''d love to have that back. But why should i stop going to watch my club because we''re not doing well? I''m a Norwich fan, and i enjoy watching my club, regardless of the result. Hence i will always be there, come rain or sun, win or lose. Although how well we''re doing does matter to me (No one wants to travel some of the distances required to watch garbage!) it doesn''t define whether i go to the games or not and never will. I go because i love to, and because i''m a Norwich fan. That''ll never change, no matter how bad we are and how much of a state this club is in.
