Hope so perhaps he can mess another team up
What are yo talking about, he saved us from relegation.  What other manager would of been able to do what he has done.  Just get of his back, he did a great job here last season. He saved us from relegation by one game and one game only after 8 months in charge! I would have expected the most average of average managers to have at least done that, as for doing a great job I think you will find he did a very average job at best and I''m being very generous here!
It''s all a matter of opinion, of course, but what I think saved you was the 13 game run otherwise you wouldn''t have been troubled by the one game at all.
The 13 game unbeaten run! now how many times am I going to hear that little peach? Maybe also losing 13 games and drawing 7 or 8 games during the second half of the season takes the shine off a little!
We would have finished 10th if we had the "Roeder" form all season. Hardly that bad when you consider half the players Mr Grant had left us with.
We would have finished 1st if we had the Worthington form of  [5] consecutive wins all season but we didn''t it''s history and Worthington was quite rightly sacked, unfortunately Worthigton was replaced by Grant, unfortunately Grant was replaced by Roeder, it''s a slippery slope and its looking steeper and more slippery everytime I look!
You either have a big personal problem with Roeder or are a moron.  How does our plight look worse under Roeder than it did under the hapless Grant???
 2.
ched evans   (man city) ryan bertrand   (arsenal) bobby zamora   (west ham) shola ameobi   (newcastle)
Lovely colour coding, shame you spoiled it by getting Bertrand''s club wrong lol
 3. Certainly good to hear that we havent missed out on any of our targets yet, although i''m sure our resident doom-mongers will brand that as the usual spin.  Also sounds like some of the players we are negotiating with might not be ones we are expecting? Wouldnt be surprised if they are aiming for a mass press conference with a few signings all at once.
 4.

(shame he didn''t post it here instead)
sorry
At least you read the article and understood it rather than go off on one by totally getting the wrong end of the stick like some people!
 5. Does that mean he is not on holiday doing nothing as everyone is criticising him for on other threads? Shock horror.
 6. http://new.pinkun.com/content/ncfc/story.aspx?brand=PINKUNOnline&category=Norwich&tBrand=PinkUnOnline&tCategory=Norwich&itemid=NOED04%20Jun%202008%2009%3A32%3A19%3A237 "I am however very, very busy at the moment working on several possibilities" Doesnt exactly sound like he is laying on the beach with his feet up at the moment, just think everyone should take a deep breath and calm down.
 7.
I have no objection to him taking a holiday, but only when we actually have a team for next season, if we miss the boat on the players we are linked with then he had better have some pretty amazing things to pull out of the hat when he gets home!
When would that be, during pre-season??
 8.

Someone in the know, who cannot be named has confirmed to me, a press conference will be held today. He is pretty sure it is not just for Hoolahan but 1 other as well.
Not currently in the know but someone who can be named are the Norwich City Press Office.  On our daily call to them just now they told my daughter they are "not aware" of any Press conferences for today. "Nothing so far that we know about," was the comment.  "We''ll ring if there is."
Why are you making daily calls to the Norwich City Press Office?
Because we are a News Agency?
... and that''s obvious to the rest of us?
It should be quite obvious to anyone who reads this message board often, I''m always interested in Camul''s insights in the workings of the media, etc
 9. I''m not saying we shouldn''t spend of course, we do need to spend to improve this club and there should be money available!!
 10.

"SWP = Poor Man''s Ruel Fox!!" Yeah but come on Tom there is an opinion and then an opinion.  If you said you were concerned we would go the way of say Luton then that could possibly have more credence. Gretna were basically a team bankrolled by one man, no other income really.  He paid for them to get into the Premier League, then got ill and, either through him or his family, withdrew all financial backing.  The club from then was just not a viable prospect.  Doncaster got a ribbing when referring to them in one of his articles and rightly so.   Actually SWP you are right, Luton would have been a far better comparison to use, it was just a case of the Gretna article was there today and thats what triggered this thread.
But Luton got into trouble after selling off their best players, failing to replace them adequately and spiraling down the table into relegation, no comparison there shurely? Seriously relegation to div 1means an instant loss of £1.9 million of television money plus whatever knock on effect it has on attendence and sponsorship money. Its enough to tip most clubs into recievership. Now for the last three seasons we have seen a steady decline in the quality of our squad to the point that we would struggle to fill the team sheet if the season was brought forward to tommorrow. Now in itself it wouldn''t matter so much if the names on the books were bonafide stars, but lets face it with the excepttion of Pattinson these are the same players that struggled under grants tenure, and after a heartening start failed to find any degree of consistency as the season wore on. Its alright for doncaster and mumby to keep coming up with new buzzwords, like ,think smarter, modest squads go along way, prudence with ambition, and community club foe community people, but on the field we need to spend some serious infrastructure, not to mount a promotion push, but simply to keep our heads above water.
I cant work out are you being serious or sarcastic with that sentence?  Selling players = check Failing to adequately replace them = check Spiralling down the table = check
 11. Getting married on 23rd August so my season ticket holding mates wont be happy if there is a biggy that day lol!!
 12. Never heard of a whiff of trouble with them under he became ill.  Would be interesting to know what the feelings towards Gretna are in Scotland, are they just seen as a millionaires plaything and good riddance?
 13. Good luck to the man if he signs for Celtic, always had a soft spot for them.  Remembered the testimonial (for Tim Shepherd?) and it was like a Scottish invasion!!
 14. I do agree that some people on here are overly argumentative nowadays though!
 15. Yeah but come on Tom there is an opinion and then an opinion.
 16. Do you honestly see any comparisons between us and Gretna though?  Seriously? Read the article and the administrators quotes about the club.
 17. Yeah reckon he would be a good signing, but it seems like every available player has 4 or 5 championship teams after him, and all these teams appear to have more spending power than us!!
 18. Am I wrong or were we not hours away from receivership, not just administration, under Chase?  Cant see how we are in as bad a position at the moment, yes there is a lot of recruitment needed, but as RM says above, I like to think this is a good thing!
 19. Wouldnt be a bad signing in my book.  Big, experienced, holds the ball up well.  Appears to be a good honest pro.  A replacement to Dion possibly.
 20. The way I look at it is that this club has been failing from top to bottom for at least a couple of seasons.  Obviously right at the top it is not going to change unless there is a takeover!  The board now has an experienced manager (tbh both Worthy and Grant were both newbie managers when they got the job) who has the nouse to have a full root and branch review of the playing and coaching staff.  This is what is happening, you will probably see different job titles and areas are worked in different ways and better people coming in to see if the results, in terms of youth development, etc not just on the pitch, can be improved. If I am wrong I will gladly hold my hands up, but this is my opinion on the transition taking place.  Hopefully we will see signs of a new look football club within the next few weeks.
 21.
this is getting stupid now. all the backroom staff are going and no word on replacements. what is going on, me thinks, and i am being cynical, these are the first signs of us preparing for administration.
Someone gets offered a much better position and wants to take it, cannot really see how this shows that we are preparing for administration.  Methinks you are being overly cynical!
