1. Hello Dave, I''m going to mail you the article from "Glorious Canaries" by Mike Davage. I was 14 when Barry died and clearly remember that shattering event.  He was irreplaceable. I see Boro are as consistent as ever!  The Chelsea result brought joy to us all.
2. Yes, I''ve heard Mick Dennis on this subject before and I''m not impressed. The fans'' expectations last season were based on the assumption that the club was fully committed to an immediate return to the Premiership, therefore if things weren''t going to plan it had to be the manager''s fault.  How naive that seems now. Either Dennis is unaware that the club has been economical with the truth about the financial situation, which in his position is inexcusable, or he chooses not to mention it.  Is he Doncaster in disguise?
3. Showing on Sky Sports News this morning - the rant that got Colin his touchline ban, rofl. I don''t know how to transfer it onto this site - perhaps someone can oblige.
4. According to today''s paper Leon said jokingly "Nothing has changed, they [Norwich] haven''t offered me a three year contract". Anyone know when Leon''s contract is due to run out? If that''s what this is really all about, he needs a good slap and so does his agent.
5.
You have conveniently missed out Gallacher and Henderson with the same scores there. But yes, surely they should all get 10/10 against such an inferior opposition. What are they, a Ryman team?
There certainly was what you could call a "gulf in class". But our fans chanting "You''re even worse than Ipswich" was a bit harsh lol.
6. In retrospect the yellow card seems naive, but that''s hindsight for you. Apparently the police have been called in.  They have no alternative but to investigate, because they have received complaints from members of the public.  I am usually not at all in favour of police involvement in on-field incidents between players (the intended prosecution of Bowyer and Dyer for example I thought was a ridiculous waste of time), and I can''t stand the nanny state mentality.   But there are times when the game needs a wake up call, and if police action means that this sort of thuggery is exposed and driven out of the game, it might be worthwhile.  Thatcher has form, and Mendes could have died.  Oddly enough I used to work with Ben Thatcher''s uncle, a good humoured bloke from Hampshire who was proud of his nephew.  Wonder how he''s feeling now.
7. I may be wrong about this . . . but the support Leon got from the fans last night really seemed to fire him up.  No doubt he was expecting some stick but he didn''t get it, just the opposite.  Combine that with a reality check in the form of a possible transfer to Roy Keane''s Sunderland, and it might, just might, bring about a genuine change of heart.  I agree that we don''t need disruption in the dressing room, but nor do we need a team of robots.  I don''t believe Leon sets out to make trouble, but he throws tantrums from time to time.  Ultimately it''s a management decision as to whether his value to the squad outweighs his value in the transfer market.
8.
.....so Hooze was average - again - against league 2 opposition.  I really hope Safs, Dicko and Robbo don''t get injured.  I just couldn''t take it!
He was playing out of position on the left.  He did alright, but the lack of cover down the left side is a more pressing problem than the striker situation imo.  Henderson took all our corners (pretty well as it happens).  It''s injuries to Drury and Hucks that we really need to worry about.
9. Not content with claiming that he''d planned all along to resign after tonight''s game, Niall Quinn says he''s about to bring in a "world class" manager . . .   World class?  Who on earth can it be?  At least he won''t be under any pressure . . .
10. Has anyone seen tomorrow''s weather forecast . . .? It''s going to piss down all day in Torquay.  Should stop by the evening, but by then the pitch could be under six inches of water.    How cheerful am I.  And yes, I''m still going to the game!
11. We''re assuming that all the money from Greeno''s transfer (and Leon''s if it happens) will be made available for new signings, but we don''t actually know that do we? Over to you Mr Doncaster.  Come on, let''s be avin you.
12.
I think the point that was originally being made was not really about swearing in general at football matches, since heightened emotions often see people use colourful language and good old anglo-saxon words can come in handy!. Rather my interpretation of the post was that Hayden enjoyment was suffering from an oaf who wanted to be centre of attention, but who’s only means of getting that attention was to behave in what most of us would see as tiresome and childish behaviour. In that circumstances I think the stewards if called upon have a duty to inform that individual about the tone and persistency of his language. If he refuses to refrain, then throw the f**king idiot over the top of the Barclay….
You''ve hit the nail on the head GJD. Attention seekers thrive in all-seater stadiums where they have a captive audience.  They''re a pain in the arse.  It''s like living next door to the neighbour from hell.  Telling them to shut up only encourages them.  I agree that the stewards need to find a way of dealing with these people.  Could be a job for the Supporters Consultative Committee.
13.
What precisely are you expecting the stewards to do about the fact two blokes have right wing tattoos? Are you suggesting they should be banned from Carrow Road because of their political allegiance?
Depends whether they are football supporters who happen to have right wing views, or politicos who go to football matches in order to recruit disaffected young men.  In the mid/late 90s there was a small group in the Snakepit who chanted racial abuse at black players, sang "No surrender to the IRA" but went all quiet and sullen whenever City scored.  It upset them, because if the fans were happy they wouldn''t want to join their awful little gang.  Credit to our former Chief Exec, Gordon Bennett, for sorting it out.
14.

No, loans can be made throughout the season up until the end of the January transfer window from the Championship division downwards. Only emergency goalies can be loaned after Jan 31st 2007
what about kevin cooper in our championship winning season
The transfer window wasn''t in force in the Championship in 2003/4.
15. Who is Credit, and why has he gone to Doncaster?  Not another promising youngster we''ve let slip through the net?
16. He''s a good player, and goalscoring left sided midfielders don''t grow on trees. I was surprised that no Prem clubs apparently showed any interest.
17. Thass the Carra Curse bor.  Evera time a Naarge player even THINK about gorn sumplace else, suffin bad happen.  They think Naarge ent good enuf for em y''see.  That ketch up wivem in the end.  Yew just lookit that Andy Marshall.  The boy Huckerby, he ent daft, he hev seen it fer hisself so thass why he ent gorn nowhere.
18. Good to see that Louis-Jean played 30 minutes as well.
19.
Wales v Bulgaria. Earnie and Bellamy up front, heres hoping for a hatfull tonight.
. . . and no injuries
20. If we''re going to get anywhere this season we need good players on the bench.  Subs do not just provide cover for injuries, they play a key tactical role in modern football, and I hope they all get appearance money whether or not they are used. But we also need players who are happy to be here.  It''s a difficult dilemma. I just wonder if Steve Foley''s been whispering in Leon''s ear?
21. I didn''t make a conscious decision to follow City.  They stole my heart in ''59 and never gave it back.   My dad wasn''t much of a footie fan, despite (or perhaps because of) his uncles'' attempts to introduce him to Leyton Orient.  But I''ve got a soft spot for the Os.  I''ve only been to Brisbane Road once, on that historic night in April 1972 when Duncan Forbes & co clinched promotion to the top flight for the very first time.
22. The report in the paper says the deal "could be worth up to £2 million" - depending on ???  Charlton staying up/getting into Europe? Greeno playing for England? who knows? Greeno also has to pass a medical.  Shouldn''t be a problem at Upton Park - after all, Dean Ashton managed it. Sack the doctor!
23. . . . for the article about the club''s finances in last night''s Pinkun.  After ND''s tetchy response in midweek I thought that would be the end of it.   Keep digging my son, there''s still £12 million in parachute payments unaccounted for.
24.

I think its best to explain to you (and some other regular posters on here) that Nigel was joking. An avalanche of  indignant ''he''s wasting valuable time on the training ground teaching them to miss-hit the ball'' or hilarious ''he doesn''t need to train them to do it they manage allright on their own'' posts aren''t necessary.
Didn''t you realise Squit...  Martin Hunter is taking all training at Colney at the moment.
I should hope he is CJF, that''s what we pay him for. Please can someone who knows about these things clarify the respective roles of manager and coach.
