1. How many more times do I have to say it? Sacking the manager is like taking an aspirin for a brain tumour.  It provides temporary and incomplete relief while the underlying problem just gets worse. We''ve been lied to in a manner that would make Mr Chase cringe with shame.  Prudence with Ambition?  There''s certainly no ambition and not a lot of prudence either.  If we''re so hard up, how can we afford to spend £1.3 million on a conference suite? Come out of your hiding place you spineless cowards!
 2.
if he takes us up this season i will personally go to Colney and apologise... it wont happen. Some of u might remmber i said we will never be in the premiership again with Worthy at the helm, i stand by it jas :)
I''d go further than that.  We''ll never be in the Premiership again.  Full stop.  Regardless of who the manager is.  (We WILL win the Cup though . . .) Mystic''s dusted off the old crystal ball . . .
 3. Good post HH. We''re only two or three players short of a strong enough squad to mount a realistic challenge for promotion, so it really makes you wonder what''s going on.  If we had to spend £10 million or even £5 million to bring the squad up to strength I could understand it, but we don''t. I wonder if they''ve dug a huge financial hole with their non-football investments? When the Annual Report comes out in November we may get some answers, if we can read between the lines.
 4.
Pardon my ignorance - but living outside of the area I''m a bit in the dark as to what that new construction is between the Jarrold Stand and the Barclay. I presumed that when I saw the start of work last season that that corner was getting filled in and we would have something similar to the Norwich Union Community Stand and our ground capacity might rise to about 28,000, but sad to see that now it is looking like an office block - can somebody enlighten me please.
Hooley, I really don''t know how to tell you this . . . This construction my friend is going to be a hotel, aka the Beirut Hilton - it''s looked like a bombed-out shell for months.  The club will not make any money from it directly.  The idea I believe is that the punters will eat next door in Delia''s Restaurant and make money for the club that way.  The precise financial details are not very clear.  Some people think we sold the land to the hotel developers for £1 million, others that we gave it to them for free, in exchange for the catering arrangements outlined above.  Sorry to make a bad weekend even worse . . .  OTBC
 5. According to Sky Sports News at 2.35
 6.

You can hope all you want the clown will fail just like he did last year and the year before , most unpopular manager in Citys history bar none , people do not just dislike him they hate him .
Your evidence for this assertion is......?
Fence, what else can we expect from someone who calls themselves "NotWorthy".  If Worthy succeeds it will threaten his identity.  He reminds me of the gremlin in the adult literacy TV ads.  Expect him to explode in a mass of green snot any time now . . .
 7. When I phoned the ticket office last Monday it was a sellout.  There may be a few buyback tickets available from 1pm onwards on Saturday, but I wouldn''t travel far on that basis.
 8.
I have a feeling Hucks is going to pack it in at The end of the season.  He has started losing his pace and thats his biggest asset.. Without his pace, and lets be realistic, he isnt much of a footballer, he cant pass, cant head, cant tackle, his pace is whats gets him clear and into goal scoring chances or out into crossing positions.  He has noticeably slowed and makes reference to th  game being a "young mans game" hucks knows his pace is what makes him the player he is and he knows that once the legs go he isn''t going to get anywhere near the first team!  Come May i think we will be Saluting Darrens last game of his career. he''ll get a send off he deserbes jas :)
Agree with nearly everything you say Jas.  But most of Hucks'' comments about his future were made during the close season.  Since Lee Croft''s been here he has also said what a difference he has made, taking some of the pressure off him. If it''s Hucks'' decision to pack it in, that''s fine.  But if we fail to renew his contract on the pretext of saving money, that''s the SS ''Ambition'' blown right out of the water.
 9.
Not called Cave-Brown for nothing then!
lol You''re not called Rude Old for nothing either . . .
 10.
Do you mean Lee Hendrie from the Villa?
Martin O''Neill  is the best in the business at making a silk purse out of a sow''s ear.  If he doesn''t fancy Hendrie, that tells us quite a lot.
 11.

If that''s frankness then I''m Frank Bruno . . . So the catering side has a turnover of £4 million.  Irrelevant.  If the purpose is to generate income for the club, what we need to know is how much profit it makes. When the parachute money runs out "savings will have to be made in all areas".  In other words, Hucks can forget about a new contract. I hope I''m just a grumpy old bastard who needs to get a life . . .
As i remember from previous accounts (the ones before the latest set i think), the restaurant made a record profit of 750k which is pretty useful. Don''t know if that figure has come down now though.
a1, I think you''re referring to the statement in the 2005 Annual Report that catering turnover increased by £750,000 in the Prem season.  It does not state anywhere how much profit the catering operation made for the club.  In the days when it was just pies and pints for the fans on a Saturday that might have been acceptable, but not now.  Time for another letter to Mr Doncaster . . .
 12. It''s the time of year when players'' contracts are renewed (or not) - judging by the number of news items on that subject on Sky Sports at the moment. Hucks'' contract runs out at the end of this season, as we all know.  There''s dead silence from Carrow Road.  Is this the elephant in the corner that everyone''s trying to ignore?  Is Delia trying to prepare us by her comments in today''s Telegraph about making savings "in all areas"? If it''s a financial rather than footballing decision, ie. the club say they can''t afford it, what would we do?  Personally I''d put some money into the kitty to give him another year.  It''s what supporters clubs used to be for, after all.

 14.
Having heard the awful news that 850 Norwich Union employees are to lose their jobs I couldn''t but reflect on their ''investment'' in Ipswich Town football club.  Somebody authorised a £30m loan to a club who do not even own their ground and within a short time time David ( a financial role model for smaller clubs ) Sheepshank had to admit they could not pay back the capital repayments. Worse was to come when they were unable to pay the interest and had to swap two years repayments for N U having ten per cent of the club. How must the employees, facing the dole queue, feel when their employer prefers to support a football club guilty of self inflicted financial mismanagement ?  Best wishes and a speedy return to work boys and girls.
Are they planning to move the Scum to India? . . . I don''t think the subcontinent really deserves that. On a more serious note, in the last ten years or so Norwich has imo become far too focused on one sector of the economy, ie. insurance/financial services.  If there''s a general downturn in that area, things could get much worse.  The city needs to diversify.  Ian Gibson MP appears to recognise that in his plans for Norwich to become a "science city".
 15. Jordan is a bit like ''Colin'' Warnock for me, someone you love to hate.
 16. Apparently someone overhead Jordan on the phone telling Peter Taylor that their performance was "horse manure".  He denied it, on the grounds that "that expression is not in my vocabulary".  Sounds about right, I don''t suppose "manure" was the word he used. On that suitably rural theme, I''m sure we can come up with a suitable chant for tomorrow . . .
 17. Does anyone know whether Camp is cup tied?  I assume Everton will allow Boyle to play on Tuesday if required?. Just a thought.
 18. Earnshaw will leave . . . the Palace defence for dead and score a hat trick on Saturday. On that positive note, I wish you good night.
 19. We played well in the second half too . . . for three minutes, until we went 3-1 up. At the risk of breaking the golden rule of not commenting on a games I didn''t see, it sounds as though Worthy''s analysis was bang on.  We tried to take the piss out of the opposition and got what we deserved.    Contrast Southend to the Torquay game when we went two up.  Instead of flicks, farts and fannies we kept our discipline, 2-0 job done.
 20.

The real shame is that Worthy did not play our young players at the end of last season when we played a number of meaningless games.
If you take the last 4 games after our season was mathematically over, it was a mixed bag. Spillane played twice and then got injured v QPR.   Rossi Jarvis was on duty with England youth, and Joe Lewis was on the bench while Gallacher was blooded, so not Worthy''s fault with those. Strange though that Cave-Brown didn''t figure (even on the bench), Henderson played one full game at Sheff Wed (admittedly not a great one) and Ryan Jarvis made just one appearance at home to QPR before going back to the bench again.  A missed opportunity perhaps?
Jay, thinking back to what the atmosphere at CR was like at the end of last season, ie. toxic, that could be why the youngsters did not get as much exposure as they might have done.
 21.
Young Billy Clarke at the binners is doing a great job for them , just a lad but seen more first team action in a few months than Ryan Jarvis has seen in years.
I think you''ll find that Ryan Jarvis was injured on and off for most of last season.  He turned 20 in July.  Between them, the Championship clubs have at least 150 youngsters (19 or under) in their senior squad at present.  If two or three of them make a lasting impact this season, that''s about par for the course. (Kenwyne Jones is nearly 22 by the way.) Spillane is 17, a raw talent with a lot to learn.  Had a good runout as sub for Cave-Brown at Torquay and may figure again at Rotherham (ditto Ryan Jarvis), although Spillane is really a centre back.  Cave-Brown is out until the end of October I believe. (Cue protests from people who think that playing youngsters in the Carling Cup shows we''re not taking it seriously. . .)
 22. He''s quite eloquent when he''s angry, isn''t he?  But I''ll settle for "hard work and effort got us the win" on Saturday.
 23.
As posted elsewhere, there''ll be 1500 pissed off Palace fans here on Saturday after their 2-0 home defeat last night. We hate Palace.  Think back to the outrageous dive that deprived us of two vital points in the Prem season.  35 quid for a restricted view in their crappy stadium.  It''s payback time.  B***cks to Worthy Out. OTBC
PS.  Did I say 1500?  They couldn''t get 18,000 at Selhurst Park last night.  Their ground''s too big for them now.  Winkers.
 24. News to me.  He set up a goal last night.  Info from Soccer Night on Sky Sports.  I think Sky coverage is excellent, every goal or red card as it comes in and they treated every game equally whether it was Champ or Conference.  Tony Cottee was covering our game, he made it sound really exciting. I guess he was in his element being an ex-striker.
