  1. I wouldn''t begrudge him what he squirrelled away as a careerist journeyman, but I have absolutely no desire to watch him spend it! Footy has a lot about it that smells a bit funny these days and Damien Francis spending his ''hard earned'' would definitely be a bit kipper. I liked him when we were surfing some momentum, but exactly when we needed some trench warfare he (and a few others) went famously AWOL.
  2. http://www.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1542264/ShowPost.aspx And Smudge.... He''s waiting - He''s always waiting...
  3. I probably see more away games than home ones perversely. I live in London Town and work weekends as well as weekdays so I take it when I can. The board (message not management) is a lifeline at times, which is why I was as sad as many when we lost such a voice in Aardee last week.
  4. Kaiman - what does this mean to you? Sounds like you took an unlikely punt? If so congrats my man. A nice day all round!
  5. "If that''s her on her avatar I think she''s got a nerve to start throwing insults about. Get a bag over ya head darlin''.... please." Bang out of order Cluck! That''s just bullying mate - have a word with yourself, you''re way off topic there. PS have a look at Branston''s last comments I''d be genuinely interested to hear some constructive ideas from you too.
  6. WE CAN"T SACK THE BOARD FROM WHERE WE STAND! They want to be relieved of the responsibility and their last punt at doing it with any decorum and without losing an absolute stack of cash is as follows: The change of manager if handled smoothly and swiftly enough, may just breathe enough fresh air into the place to help us avoid the drop. The change in energy (and a million complex factors) allow actual and sustained interest from investor / investors - and we all finally move on. Acerbic bile throwing and told you sos don''t seem to get us anywhere do they Smudge? This is not black and white and it''s not a simple problem. I have a feeling you''d be lost if things did improve wouldn''t you? You''re a habitual sh*t stirring angry guy right? Part of the possibility of salvation is that what little changes are made result in a shift in atmosphere which may lift the team...? So why be first in the queue to attempt to derail that fragile hope? This has nothing to do with any affiliation or otherwise with our current board, it''s just a desire to engage with what little can change for the time being. Not blind faith just logical consideration of the complexities of it all!
  7. I know! It''s all bum isn''t it? But I can''t help staring at this board like a moth to a flame. It''s all a bit of fun though isn''t it? Makes for some blessed relief from the usual.
  8. I honestly think that that''s 3 fellas who love it at Carrow Rd and who love being part of the club''s history / set up. I like them and as hosts at the Chariddeee footy matches at Carrow each year they are lovely but that''s not a serious approach surely? I hope not - I am, as my name suggests a bit of a dreamer but clubs are not run on love alone. I hope these 3 remain as talismanic presences (Gunny aint been much more than that lately despite his role has he?) but let''s have a manager in the job eh?
  9. The only way out of the long term hole we''re in is a miracle escape, some positivity around the place and the slim potential for that to attract an investor or two who can relieve our current board. I don''t honestly care who''s at the helm if they can get us into a position like that!! But if I was boss I''d approach Boothroyd and Malks.
  10. Your step Dad''s mate''s dog''s auntie''s Mum!???
  11. "Check my previous posts" "I have a contact at the club" "facebook"
  12. Angel I honestly think you have a good hunch on that. In todays cash driven game a player who''d buy himself out for the love of it would be a miracle. Wouldn''t put it past the guy though would you? PR goal if he were willing to do that!
  13. If renewals was part of the motivation for today, why see that as a negative? It''s proof that on the day of rumoured purchases of Kaka for 100,000,000.00 at a 12m annual salary, there''s still some connection between the interest of the fans in the stands and the clubs decision making. Surely it''s a good thing that "customer satisfaction" (for want of a more appropriate phrase) is considered?
  14. 2 Points: How much would we owe Earthquakes in compo? Has anyone even considered how sad it would be if Hucks returned on a wave of nostalgia and his stock as a creative attacking engine has dwindled since the halcyon days we recall so well. It''s been a while since the sepia toned splendid rushes which give us all such trouser arousal. I''d love the positive energy his presence would bring but fear for an anti climax. Am I alone in this???
  15. I dunno whether the ''stylin'' bodes well for future on pitch efforts but don''t you love the atmosphere in there??? A mile away from the stress and politics of the senior set up. I love it - great stuff!
  16. I''d be well happy with a score draw today. I fear a 1 or 2 nil loss. I don''t imagine it will represent the end of Roeder''s tenure though. Let''s hope he plays Lup''s, If we go one midfielder up front again I''ll be so bored I''ll slip into a coma. Respect to those who go - come on you Yellows!!!
  17. For me it''s Jas, City Angel and going back a bit Mook; although we don''t see him on here much these days.
  18. I''m about. Don''t usually get in til about now and love to read up on the days comings and goings while my mind dissolves into sleep. Often on here at two or three am wondering who the "2 persons viewing" might be.
  19. lincoln canary wrote the following post at 03/12/2008 11:14 AM: the ipswich ripper is our freind, is our freind, is our freind the ipswich ripper is our freind because he killed scummers There''s no way on earth that that''s funny and if you don''t know why it isn''t then I hardly think it''s worth debating it with you. Come on Lincoln - football is a long long way from the daily torment of the families and friends of people who have suffered at the hands of violent and disturbed people. Pull your head in and behave yourself!!
  20. Just noticed how few of the grounds I''ve mentioned above are actually in the Championship. Soz about that - I got a bit off topic.
  21. Selhurst Park: Where to begin? I live in London and even my journey to the ground sucks! It''s in a massive residential area and road and rail to anywhere near is impossible. It''s a low slung cheap arse atadium with none of the character of smaller grounds like Gillingham or Brentford. The fans can''t be bothered - real sing when you''re wining stuff. I had a run out on it when Wimbledon used to ground share and I have to say I''ve never seen a surface so bad. Park quality at best. It''s probably got better since but the fact that it was so awful was a shock. I equally hate the Brittania. Scummy walk from the station across some real badlands and some of the most graceless hosts ever in the shape of the Potters fans. Stamford Bridge has to be the worst. Despite fond memories of Zola''s delightful flick against us in the cup I''ll always recall the attitude of home fans and stewards as unnecessarily hostile, the ground itself being the ugliest shopping centre (for that is what it is) I''ve ever seen. Bloody expensive too. Not about football at all that place. Can''t stand it. I love Brentford, Fullham, Watford and honestly I really enjoyed a trip to the New Den. Despite our awful result on the day 4-0 I think, I thought the atmosphere was amazing, something about the intimidating history and the layout of the even height 4 sided ground really boosted the vibe.
  22. Babyface: "Additionally, I did see the women in the car trying to drive around the stadium at 5mph. Why she did n''t wait 15 minutes for the crowd to leave the area I don''t know" Yeah - daft that. Remember that awful story about the woman who was driving through Paris in 98 after France had won? The streets were packed and she panicked, dumped the accelerator. I can''t remember the numbers but I think some people got killed, there were certainly a lot of injuries. Sad.
  23. Don''t let some random tools stop you traveling to Forest in future mate, they''d love to know they''d put you off. My memory of the city ground is quite amusing... Our poor attempt at hitting a barn door a good few boxing days ago - a "we got one shot on target" chant drifting around the away end as we scuffed one at the goal 2 - 0 down in the 93rd minute. Freezing cold and one hapless steward had obviously been given a hat by his Mum for Christmas. Very stylish furry thing with ear flaps and tartan lining. Evoking memories of Jason Lee, we launched into "He''s got a dead squirrel on his head". Fair play to the fella, he took it in good spirits, gave a little wave and even stopped telling us to sit down. Cheered me up no end , which was nice as the performance was awful (away days like that aren''t restricted to this season I guess). Anyone else remember our furry headed Notts chum?? Re - clubs from the midlands being more tetchy than others, is that really true? Yeah there was a fair bit of gloating while we waited for the coaches back to the car park after the Millenium Stadium shoot out. Norwich humour won the day again though with shouts of go home followed by some genius pointing out that the guy was from Brum - why would he want to go home? I think we have to be careful not to apply Daily Mail statistics to our discussion about isolated incidents on a Saturday anywhere in the country. Sympathies to our chum who took one round the chops though, no one deserves that, it''s horrible and I can''t say I blame you for being put off.
